Dialogue Stance System – The revolutionary new dialog systems allows full control of Thorton’s reactions through emotive controls. However, characters will not always react the same way. He will have to choose carefully in each dialog.

A Modern Day Role Playing Experience with Action Gameplay – The new RPG system gives players the ability to mold Thorton into the secret agent they want him to become with lethal close-combat techniques, marksmanship abilities, proficiency with spy gadgets, and much more.

Living, realistic international world that responds to Thorton - Thorton will travel across the globe, encountering mysterious contacts and deadly enemies multiple times over the course of Alpha Protocol's plot. Depending on his previous interactions with a character or a location, the world's reactions to him will change, opening new possibilities and gameplay avenues.

4 out of 5 eggscriminally underrated

Pros: -excellent, most reactive story I've seen built in a console game.
-multiple playthroughs are not only recommended but a must in order to appreciate
-Steven Heck

Cons: -combat isn't the best
-graphics are outdated

Other Thoughts: One of the most universally panned games that proves people wrong after they play it. The gameplay is role playing with a reliance on stat placement so yes, if you haven't trained in stealth or pistols you're going to be bad at them. Honestly an excellent game I find myself coming back to time and again because each time you play through you discover something different about the characters and story.

3 out of 5 eggsFlawed

Pros: Really cool concept. The RPG elements are very neat. Pretty decent voice acting.

Cons: Buggy and frustrating. The stealth system is hopelessly broken. Enemy AI alternates between braindead and omnipotent. Shooting mechanics suck, which is too bad since the stealth system doesn't work right. The savegame system is checkpoint based, no matter if it appears to let you save whenever, don't bother saving in the middle of a mission.

Other Thoughts: This could have been a sweet game. But it feels rushed. If they make a sequel and put some polish on the AI I would play it. Not likely though.

I cannot believe I actually finished this game, because there were times when I wanted to hurl the controller at the TV.

2 out of 5 eggsbuggy game

Pros: Pros: rpg/stealth/action is a very
cool mix for a game.
Voice acting is pretty good.
Lots of customization for your character and equipment.
Cool dialogue choices.

Cons: Cons: stealth is somewhat broken and feels like a chore to play, you can try to be stealthy but always fail and have to shoot your way through.
Shooting can get frustrating, it's due to your characters shooting skill.
Lots of graphic bugs and glitchy ai

Other Thoughts: It's an alright game if you play it like an rpg and take advantage of every equipment but in the end the buggy gameplay will leave you hating the game.

2 out of 5 eggsFell Short

Pros: -Good custamization, weapons and armor
-The player has many choices that effect the way the story plays out.
-You can mold player to your liking, build him for stealth, commando or techie.

Cons: -Graphics a little stale, several times there are pauses in the game for the picture to catch-up
-Main character is kind of corny with his, it seems, generic spy/hero responses.
-A little short but not a big deal
-Controls are not very fluid

Other Thoughts: -I had high hopes for this game but it just didn't cut it, i enjoyed myself but i was left with wanting more. it didn't have a very original story, basic espionage story
-I played on the hardest level you can start on and i don't know if it was just me but some point in the game it makes a big jump and the enemies become a little annoying at how accurate/strong they become.
-Ibelieve the game was supposed to come out OCT 09
but was pushed back till spring of 2010, for this extra amount of time taken you would think they would have refined it way more. i would have rather had pushed back again that have a game like this. Now that it did so badly in sales Obsidian are not going to have a chance to redeem themselves.
-Not a good show of the Unreal Engine we all know and love

2 out of 5 eggsCool idea, sloppy game.

Pros: It's a fairly fresh idea in the gaming world. Not entirely original, but this type of gameplay being applied to espionage is definitely an interesting concept. You can fine tune your playing style to your liking. I personally like to sneak in and complete my mission without sounding any alarms. You could just as easily go in guns blazing.

Cons: This game just isn't complete. It's very obvious that they rushed it out unfinished to meet some sort of stupid deadline, which is typical of Sega lately. The story gets kind of stupid after a while, and the shooting system just doesn't satisfy. One thing that bothered me to no end is the fact that when you buy a scope for an assault rifle, it appears as an ACOG with a holographic right in front of it. It makes NO sense whatsoever and just goes to show that Sega really didn't take their time with this game at all. Lots of graphical aspects seem very unpolished, and the enemy AI is the worst I've seen since Black. If you do it right, you can sit right in front of somebody and shoot him in the face without him seeing you.

Other Thoughts: All in all, very interesting idea, VERY flawed game. I hope they make a sequel and actually take their time with it, because this game has lots of untapped potential.
