The ultimate celebration of 20 Years of Sonic gaming, Sonic Generations delivers the definitive gaming experience for Sonic fans new and old.
Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power comes into force, creating ‘time holes’ which take Sonic and his friends back in time. Whilst there, Sonic runs into some very familiar characters from his past including a younger version of himself! Now they must team up to defeat their enemies, save their friends, and find out who is behind this diabolical deed.
decent but leaves a lot to be desired
Pros: Sonic Generations is meant to commemorate Sonic's 20th anniversary so it's got a ton of references to most retail releases including obscure stuff like Knuckles Chaotix. Also has a ton of music and artwork from previous Sonics. The gimmick Generations has is its split Sonic along 2d and 3d 'generations' so old Sonic plays in classic side scrolling 2d levels while 'modern' Sonic features the 3d environments of the recent Sonic games. A lot of the stages have a good sense of speed.
Cons: Game is short and padded with a lot of annoying and repetitive challenges. controls are flaky. 2d Sonic has turning issues. On a 2d plane. Yes. It takes him a few tenths of a second to turn around. The problem I experienced was after turning and spin dashing, Sonic wouldn't be fully turned around and would spin dash in the wrong direction. For 3d Sonic, the lock-on targeting is extremely fidgety and has trouble staying locked on. I also had trouble jumping with both Sonics where he just does not jump high or far enough (from a standstill) for some of the platform spacing. Really annoying!
Other Thoughts: Sonic fans say this is the best Sonic game in years. I'd agree if Sonic Generations doesn't feel as rough and unpolished as it is.

Sonic run back and forth threw time again
Pros: this game was beautiful graphic wise. solid game mechanics for classic sonic. the stages stand out as wonderful remix for the old stages. modern sonic has touch and go controls at times but is well responsive.
Cons: As i said, modern sonic's controls sometimes can bother you with his homming attack unable to respond at times but the thong that bothers me is the final boss controls. its kinda lose as modern super sonic and the rings blend in with the enviernment and that erks me!! the last-ability will turn some people off tho
Other Thoughts: all in all the game was fun but the time it takes to finish it will irritate you but its worth it. the game has plenty to offer you for unlockables and replay value but i felt that in 20yrs, there should be more other the extra missions. still if your a sonic fan try it.
