Mistaken for a renowned hero, Capell is thrust into a conflict to sever the chains that bind the moon to his world in INFINITE UNDISCOVERY. Traverse a seamless, expansive world with a party formed from 18 characters. Rise against the wicked Order of Chains in fierce real-time combat, but beware … not all battles are won by force. The most obvious solution is rarely the right move. Shatter the chains and release the Order's grip on the world.

Battle system: Experience the seamless, real-time battle system that maintains a strategic, party-oriented format.

Multiple characters: Seventeen characters join the hero, Capell, each with a unique "Connect action" that allow you to take direct control.

Situational battles: The episodic "situational battles" urge you to think before you engage.

Engaging storyline: The twisting, 30-hour storyline was co-written by Ryo Mizuno, creator of Record of Lodoss War

3 out of 5 eggsOkay game, but annoying at times

Pros: Beautiful landscapes and architecture, wonderfully rendered. Good music. Decent mix between traditional JRPG and Devil-May-Cry style action. Intriguing and engaging storyline. Lots of interesting ideas.

Cons: Sometimes dialog is annoying. Some character voices (esp. the children and the bear). Some of the cutscenes are too long, and don't always contribute good character development.

The item creation system can be very annoying and tedious, and most often is. The higher quality items take way too long to craft, and more often than not break in the process. This doesn't make item creation fun, just boring, annoying, and tedious.

You have lots of characters in your party, but you really only control the main one. What's the point of having an archer in your party if you can't use her to snipe from a distance?

Also, about half the characters in your party you can't even use for most of the game. You can only use them in secondary parties, meaning you never actually get to use them in combat.

The main character is a huge wimp for most of the game. And even when he starts to show some resolve, he still acts like a wimp. It's only near the very end he begins acting like a rea

Other Thoughts: This is an okay game. It looks like the designers put a lot of interesting ideas and hard work into it. However, I sometimes find it hard to enjoy. As epic and beautiful as the story and the world are, the flaws sometimes severely mar an otherwise wonderful experience.

But it's not what I'd call a bad game, just not a good one either. I spent money on it, and I enjoy it enough to want to finish it.

Frankly, it made me want to play Oblivion instead.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great story line and music as always form Square. The graphics are great but not as good as some other great games out today. I loved lost odyssey and bought this game and am not disappointed.

Cons: "Only" two disks. Lost odyssey was longer and even better...

Other Thoughts: This game hasn't been given to much consideration from other reviewers but I personally love the game!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than reviewed

Pros: The visuals are really awesome, I really hope that the new Star Ocean title looks this good or better. The fighting is really fun and makes this game feel almost like action/adventure/RPG. The story is good and the characters are likeable. Connect system works like a long range weapon/order system.

Cons: The story can feel a little sluggish on the second disc. You are provided with very limited direction on what to do next. Framerate lags when you are fighting multiple enemies.

Other Thoughts: Thru discounts and some very randomly received gift coupons I got this game brand new for 20 bucks.
