When Emperor Uriel Septim VII is assassinated, the transdimensional gates between the world of Cyrodiil and the Planes of Oblivion open and the demonic Daedra invade. Your character is tasked to return the last surviving member of the Septim line, recover the Amulet of Kings and close the gates.
How you do this is entirely up to you as the world of Cyrodiil is not only lushly rendered using the latest next-gen graphics and lighting and shading effects, but it is vast and designed for non-linear sandbox play with dynamic weather and lighting. The Plane of Oblivion – the otherworldly home of the Daedra – is also given the same level of detail. Wilderness quests, ruins and dungeons await as do urban environments – all populated by NPC's utilizing the Radiant AI system which brings them to life.
Rather than having to repeatedly walk through the same areas, rideable horses have returned as has the ability to teleport back to areas your character has already visited. Stealth, magic and combat skills have been rebalanced with combat skills streamlined. Missile attacks are now resolved based on actual hits and characters can actively block incoming enemy attacks with a successful block causing the foe to recoil – and creating the opportunity for an attack of your own. Additional content, equipment and missions can be downloaded to aid your quest. This Game of the Year Edition brings together the award-winning game along with the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions which offer new lands, new opponents, new quests and more adventure.

Excellent!
- Pros: To start off... I was taken by the extreme detail of everything. While the PC version definitely trumps the 360 version, it is still beautifully done.
Extremely open ended game play, yet still quest series (excellent ones at that) that gives those that want direction something to do.
This game really is open to many playing styles.
- Cons: Melee fighting was a bit redundant, and somewhat uninteresting at times.
Not enough voice actors.. (you might find me a little picky but since most people will put over 300 hours into game place you would expect them to use more than 1 - 2 voice actors for each race)
Spell Appearances never changed despite increased intensity. Though the new spells did more and were usable, It didn't give me much motivation to use higher level spells since I didn't have new eye candy to look at while casting them.
- Other Thoughts: Overall I still give this game a 5/5. Its definitely a lot of fun especially if you like treasure hunting and exploring.
Love It!
- Pros: Best mythical RPG game I've ever played. Graphics are great, and game play is very fun.
- Cons: Extremely long and repetitive... you could play it for days and find yourself not getting very far.

5 out of 5 Amazing.
- Pros: This game is very addicting, if you love/like the whole Fantasy World thing then get this game for sure. Its feels like a mixture of World of Warcraft and the Lord of the Rings. There are ALOT of quests so youll easily put in hours and hours of gameplay if you have never played this before.
- Cons: No online Multiplayer.
No Dwarves as a playable class. :[
buy this game
- Pros: great game do what you want when you want! you can be a stealthy assaisin or mirciful crusader magic melee stealth its all here and with the expantions wow....... ive put over 50 hours and have barly done 10% of this game it is great
- Cons: ummmm is being just so great you head explodes a con?
- Other Thoughts: buy this now dont even wait 4 shipping go to eb or gamestop right now and buy this!
- Pros: The depth of the game is incredible. There is so much to explore it seems almost overwhelming. I have played almost 30 hours and haven't even attempted the first main objective. Of course you could also go through the game without exploring the countless number of dungeons, forts, mines, settlements, and cities.
The 'leveling' system is cool as many of your actions, some as simple as running or jumping, can improve with usage. Talking with townsfolk can impact your speechcraft, bartering with stores can improve your mercantile skill. Actions taken during combat even determine how your character develops. Other stats impact damage dealt, total health, or even how much you can carry.
Lastly, I'm glad there is a quest log with a map pointer telling you where to go because I have been asked to complete so many quests while exploring I would have easily forgotten many of them.
- Cons: At this point I have enjoyed every minute of playing.
- Other Thoughts: Save often. While exploring dungeons, mines, etc. you may come across some traps. Most only damage you while others can actually kill you. (Happened to me once.) Fortunately if you are careful all the traps are visible before they can be activated.
If you are a fan of RPG's and have an Xbox 360 you should have already bought this game.
