Great Headset
- Pros: -Great sound
-Good XBox 360 Live communication (wired) -Very sturdy wire and overall construction -Microphone is easy to move and very sturdy, too
- Cons: -Buzzes loudly when the batteries are dead
-Shuts off occasionally on its own -When out of range, you get loud clicking of sound cutting in and out
- Other Thoughts: Tired of the Microsoft headsets that always seemed to break or stop working, I decided to pony up the money for something (hopefully) better. I have not been disappointed. The battery (AAA) life is decent considering the quality of the sound, and it has survived a few of my clumsy drops without a problem. It can start to hurt my ears (not my hearing, but the physical ear itself) after long use, but that's just a sign I've played games too long. My only problem is that I didn't buy this sooner.
analog
- Pros: This is bassically to help those who may have read the previous entry.
- Cons: The analog audio via 2 rca cable cannot be hooked up to the xbox at the same time as the HDMI cable. the way to get around this is to hook the cables into your audio output on the back of your tv, if you have your audio ourput hooked to surround sound youll need to stop by radio shack to get some rca single male to dual female adapters around 6$ only an issue if you are usuing hdmi cables though.
Oh well
- Pros: The headset is fine the fact that it only uses analog audio and the xbox 360 doesnt allow for both the standard a/v plug and an hdmi plug to be used at the same time you get stuck choosing either great audio or great video..but not both
- Cons: My entire review is mainly an other thought for future purchaser's. If Microsoft had made the xbox 360 with the standard a/v cables rather than with the huge problematic box for the plug it wouldn't be a problem but since you cant use both outputs at the same time makes getting this headset if your using an hdmi output useless..go with a cheaper one that plugs into a microphone/headset outlet otherwise you'll end up frustrated.
- Other Thoughts: Since I'm using an hdmi cable I just spent 100 bucks to have a really nice live/chat headset and thats about it
