3 out of 5 eggsGreat Microphone but not much else

Pros: This heaset has been serving me well for over 3 years now. I literally recorded thousands of videos on my youtube channel using this thing. It simply has the best microphone quality out of any headset.

It is also convenient to have the wireless capability when not using the mic, so I can listen to videos while walking around my room

Cons: As much as i love the microphone quality, that's pretty much where the compliments end. The wireless connectivity slowly declined after my time using it to the point where even walking 10 feet away from the computer is too much.

There is constant crackling and popping when I get even close to the reach limit, and any standard wireless device messes with the connection.

This thing also chews through batteries faster than every other appliance in my house combined! I bought 20 rechargeable AAA batteries that I charge and switch out every 5 hours.

Other Thoughts: This is the one device that I have been using every day for over 3 years and it still keeps on trucking; in the same time I had 3 computers and 4 phones/ipods.

Turtle beach, if you ever read this, PLEASE make a new headset with the exact same microphone from this one but make it better quality in every other field.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your time or money

Pros: The sound quality is decent when it functions correctly.

Cons: This device operates on the world's most commonly used frequency: 2.4Ghz. If you aren't technologically inclined, that means that the majority of your use will involve loud cracks and pops in the audio as other devices around your house and other houses nearby interfere with the headset. It's basically unsafe to use because at high volume levels, these interferences could cause lasting hearing damage. The battery life is abysmal even on the lowest quality settings. I found that even if you only use the headset for chat and disconnect the game sound, the headset still has unacceptable interference. This product should have never been associated with turtle beach.

Other Thoughts: Do not purchase this especially if you are buying it for the price point. You will just waste your money.

4 out of 5 eggsso close to perfect

Pros: - Super padded, comfortable headband, along with large oval shaped ear cups makes for the ideal headset for long gaming sessions.
- Surround sound is great and ive had no problems with the mic.
- Wireless is easy to set up and doesn't suffer from interference. Can still hear your games from a large distance away.

Cons: - "Effects" seems almost pointless. Hard to tell what the difference is between each effect and is more so annoying than practical.
- Biggest con is the fact that it takes 2 AAA batteries, which it eats through quickly. My set is now over a year old and has trouble working with brand new AAA batteries for more than a few days.

Other Thoughts: - For the price you will have a hard time finding equal or better headsets for the xbox. If you can catch them on sale theyre a steal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but watch for interference

Pros: Good clear sound being a wireless headset. Haven't had any defects with it yet even though I thought it was defective at first (i'll get into that in other thoughts).

The adjust-ability of the mic is great and the headset fits nice, not too tight not to loose. The speaker pads are very comfortable for long gaming sessions.

The base boost and wide range features are defiantly nice and do help when playing games, I can hear bugs buzzing around and birds signing that I never new were there! Also being able to hear opponents in FPS games walking around you is wonderful, brought my gaming to the next level.

Great if you have a family that does not want to hear your games. (i'm able to play games daily now that my wife doesn't have to hear the "annoying" shooting.)

Easy to exchange batteries if they are dying.

Great price and no issues with it being refurbished.

Cons: Seems to break connection/crackle easily by interference (this is also due to the fact that I have many mobile devices in my house)

Batteries only last about 10 hrs max so by rechargeable!!

There is now audible beep/noise to let you know the batteries are dying, you find out because they keep popping in and out of connectivity.

Other Thoughts: I initially thought it was defective since it kept dropping signal and/or breaking up continuously. I contacted newegg and they were going to send me a replacement no questions asked. They emailed me an RMA in a day or 2.

But I found out by doing a little research that it is not defective, I had it to close to my router (sitting on top of it, LOL) I ended up reading the breaking up was a common complaint on the Turtle Beach website which is where I found out I need to put the receiver 3+feet away from any other defivices that give of RF signals (that goes for TV's by the way). Once I did this it started working like a charm. But I did notice that If I am doing something on my phone inbetween matches I need to re-pair the headset. Kind of an annoyance but part of the reason is the RF traffic, so it's no fault to the headset.

1 out of 5 eggsOnly for Xbox

Pros: Light weight, comfortable

Cons: Very limited, difficult wire connections

Other Thoughts: This headset is for Xbox only, it will not work with a computer. It hooks up to your audio cables on the TV.

2 out of 5 eggsBeware for PC users

Pros: Nice looking headset.

Cons: If you are purchasing for PC use, you will need to purchase a $12 adapter from turtle beach, not bad right? Well, they have no ground shipping options, so a quick and cheap fix quickly becomes $30. Just irritating.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure I will love this headset once the adapter gets here. Wish I had known ahead of time so I wouldn't have to wait another week. My mistake was choosing PC headset in the search options and just assuming any headsets that would pop up would be for PC. Tunnel vision due to trying to get something ordered while distracted at work.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Price

Pros: It is wireless. It isn't Bluetooth. It's a double ear headset rather than just one ear like the starter kit. The headset has decent mid pick up, really sensitive if you don't talk loud because of roommates or whatever reason.

Cons: The audio quality is pretty bad. I've tried it a few different ways, and it seems there is a bit of interference.

Also, to get the audio through the headset, you have to hook up to a Red and White audio input. That's a pain if you do HDMI. However, I can hook it up to my TV's Audio Out. A big PITA.

Triple A batteries make it die faster than I want, I run Lithium's from Energizer to get the longest life. Would be annoying to run rechargeables.

Other Thoughts: It was only forty bucks when I purchased it, so way better than the Bluetooth Xbox headset. Next time, I will go a lot bigger on a good quality headset.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very comfortable.

Feels sturdy.

Looks quality.

Cons: Only the sound is wireless.
Mic needs to be plugged in to an xbox controller, which makes use on the PC moot.

Other Thoughts: I returned it, i got it for 35 dollars, but because it doesn't utilize a wireless mic it did not suite my needs.

Please note, Newegg may very well not accept a return on this product given their policy.
