2 out of 5 eggsGreat headset, bad microphone

Pros: The sound quality is great, and the Scout Mode is effective in games.

Cons: The first one i had would echo BAD when i was trying to talk to people. Everyone would hear themselves echoing through my mic. I found that even when the microphone was removed they could still hear themselves. I sent it back, thinking it was faulty, but when i got a replacement it does the same thing. It's absolutely unusable for TeamSpeak or anything else that is voice activated.

Other Thoughts: If all you need is a headset, this one is great. If you need to use the microphone however, get something else.

3 out of 5 eggsExcelent sound, poor usability

Pros: I got these for myself for Christmas as my old logictech clearchat headphones were getting pretty long in the tooth. After using these for about two months I can definitely say that the audio quality is absolutely superb. The sound combined with the software make playing games a treat.

Since my days are spent telecommuting I use the headset for calls during the day then for games in the evening. Wearing these for extended hours isn't a problem at all -- they are that comfortable.

Cons: The downside to these guys may unfortunately outweigh the pros.

1. They are expensive. I paid right around $200 which I feel is about 50$-60$ more than the quality deserves. I chalk this up to the fact that it does come with decent software for managing the sound as well as being designed for multiple platforms.

2. Because they are multi-platform they may be overly complicated. Why on earth does the transmitter have to have a removable cartridge?

3. While wearing the headset it is difficult to press any of the buttons on the headset themselves, and when you do there is no positive reinforcement that a button was pressed. I expect either an audio "beep" or visual clue when I finally find and press the "mute" button. I often find myself taking the headset off to look at the red light on the button which is not visible when wearing it.

4. The power button is just weird. Why do I have to hold it down for 5+ seconds to turn the headset on and off? It's not a PC, it can (probably) survive an instant off.. so why doesn't it?

5. When the battery gets low, which I admit is 8+ hours into a session, I do (finally) get an audio indicator. However this comes about 20-30 seconds before the unit actually shuts down. When I'm on Skype calls for work sometimes I'm walking around the house and not actually at the PC. I find myself running back to the office to jack into the charger. This is 2014 folks, I know we can get a better battery status.

I know I seem like I'm being very picky here but I wanted the best-of-the-best when it came to sound and comfort so I purchased what I consider to be the most feature-rich highest quality headsets I could find. When you spend that kind of dough you expect the sound to be studio quality (which it is close to) and it to be very usable (which it is not)

Other Thoughts: I love how these feel, but I wouldn't make this purchase again. Yes I play games, yes the 3d and THX are nice, but in my opinion I'd rather give up some audio quality for the ability to easily turn the unit on and off, have a visual indicator that the mute (on the headset) is on, and better buttons.

2 out of 5 eggsGood sound but uncomfortable

Pros: Very good sound quality.

Cons: Very uncomfortable on the ears. They heat up my ears after about 10 min.

3 out of 5 eggsShouldn't fall apart so easily!

Pros: Awesome sound quality, works on many different gaming platforms and love the fact it is wireless!

Cons: Very disappointed that I've only owned this product for less than a year and is already falling apart. The parts that holds the ear phones begin to break after like a year. I just think it should last longer than 11 months of daily use given how expensive these are!

5 out of 5 eggsSimply the Best

Pros: Cannot say enough. Sound you have never heard from headphones unless you are a DJ

-THX certification makes a huge play in the Bass which is rich, full, deep and loud... Bass you can feel
-50mm driver means FULL range of sounds. treble is clear and not tingy, mids are strong and lows are powerful.
-3D sound is not a gimmick. If it comes from 135 degrees to your left in the movie/game you will here it from exactly that direction.
-Scout Mode is a must for my gaming now. You simply cannot sneak up on someone with scout mode. Every footstep is crystal clear.
-Quad-core sound card deserves awards all on its owns. THX and Dolby professionally decoded into 7.2. Even has a 3.5mm/optical in multiport for any audio input.
-Works flawlessly with PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
-Sound Blaster software is customization and very impactful in use.
-8 Hour battery life is guaranteed.
-Build quality I can only describe as 'Executive'
-Mute and Volume buttons on headset and sound card.
-Mic comes with wind screen and has software to make it sound full and rich to person on other end (really rare)
-Full and rich without being incredibly loud.
-Cannot hear anything else when you have these playing... (Tested in school construction zone)
-Charges in about 2 hours
-Can play while charging
-Draws very little power

Cons: No stand. Sound card will only power up with higher power USB port (like computer or console or 2 amp wall adapter)
No wall adapter included
Price - but seriously worth every penny.

1 out of 5 eggsAmzing sound quality... R.I.P.

Pros: Great sound quality
wireless
Comfortable (varies on head size)

Cons: Recon3D receiver faulty after a year.

Other Thoughts: Well, sadly it's been barely less than a year and half, and the Recon3D wireless receiver just stopped working. No longer powers on, which means you can't use the headset. I did contact customer support, their guess was corrupted firmware. After several failed attempts to reinstall firmware, it was concluded that I just have a faulty device now. Since this device/bundle only has a 1 year warranty, the best they could do is this "It is more economical to purchase a new product than getting this unit repaired. In addition, the new purchase unit will come with a full 12 month warranty coverage. Alternatively, we would like to offer you a 10% discount code on your next purchase of any similar Creative product from our online store. This discount does not apply to refurbished items, bundles and newly-released products. This discount cannot be used together with any other promotions or special offers."....

Any who, headset is still alive, and it was great while it lasted, but it didn't last very long. Very, very sad, dare I say, I expected 4 or 5 years or even longer, of life from such a device, not a cheap spontaneous death.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after a month and a half

Pros: - Sound quality is amazing being that they are wireless.
- Easy to set up and operate
- Battery lasts a long time
- Cool blue glow from head set when in use
- Good microphone quality

Cons: - Recon 3D died after a little over a month of purchase. No power what so ever.

2/5 score on due to the fact that it failed so quickly.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing Bass

Pros: Great Bass and depth, mode switch button comes in handy when using it with the consoles. Probably better than Beats Audio. Very cool look with the blue halo like lights on each side. The best in its class. Turtle beach has nothing on these, they might as well be earbuds.

Cons: - Does not come with the stand that the wire headset comes with.
- You need a wire going from the headset to the xbox controller.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for...Quality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value headset!

Pros: *Very Affordable (I got them on sale for $200)
*THX Software is excellent - configure your sound just right
*Able to connect to PC/XBOX simultaneously!
*Excellent battery life
* Very comfortable for long periods of time (3 hrs +)
* Very sexy looking
* Bass is actually noticeable!

Cons: * No stand included!
* Instructions are very limited
* Plastic materials feel somewhat fragile
* Still requires chat cable connected to controller for XBOX live chat

Other Thoughts: I was waiting/hoping for Tritton/Madcatz to finally release their Warhead set. I got tired of the delays... This was definitely worth purchasing!

5 out of 5 eggsYes, you should.

Pros: To put things bluntly, I am an audiophile. I was worried I wanted too much out of a wireless headset. I needed a headset that was:
A) Wireless
B) Could be used with all consoles AND my PC
C) Has phenomenal sound quality

This headset managed to solve ALL 3 for a price that wasn't too far out there.

As others say the bass is pretty awesome, the dynamics are also awesome. I was worried to see how it played with FPS's as it says it has the "SCOUT" function, and low and behold I tried it with Tribes: Ascend on my PC and COD:MW3 on my Xbox 360 and as Tribes was pretty good, COD was about 1000x better, which made me estatically happy because I play TONS of COD.

Then I tested them out with movies and music. Boom quality as perfect as I expected. I love these things!

Cons: None, yet.

Other Thoughts: Things I still am waiting to see, is the quality of how long these babys will last and how long the battery life is, as I'm sure they won't last too long at the volumes I listen to things.
