4 out of 5 eggsGood Quality iPhone 4

Pros: - Phone, although refurbished, is in great condition.
- Battery is probably brand new because I had to work hard to get it to run out

Cons: - A few minor scraps on the glass front. Not noticeable at all with a screen protector.
- Why are super old iPhones still $200?! I mean, jeeeeez!

Other Thoughts: I saw this phone was on special and my step-dad has been wanting an iPhone for a while. He doesn't need anything new or fancy, and I think the slight added bulk of the older iPhone will be good for him.

I have an Android myself, but I played around with this phone for about a week and everything was very fast and the phone is in great/perfect condition. It came in its original box, although I don't think the accessories are genuine Apple parts. I don't care and my step-dad won't either.

I hooked the phone to our wi-fi and used it for watching videos and web browsing for about a week until the battery finally hit 15% and I felt comfortable charging it up again. Side note: It must have been SUPER dead when it arrived because it seriously took 3+ hours to charge to 100% that first day, and it wouldn't even let me turn it on for the first hour -- even with it being plugged in. But it's all good now and I'm confident in the battery power and life.

All-in-all a good buy [for a phone that's technically out-dated now, but still costs a bundle to buy without a contract, but I digress.]

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal.

Pros: - Shipped fast
- Trusted seller
- Came with all accessories
- Like-new physical condition

Cons: - Appears to be a knock-off Apple charger (not sure)

Other Thoughts: My brother needed to replace his broken Sprint Moto Razr, and wanted to get on the data-phone bandwagon. He wanted an iPhone because he already has an iPod Touch and all the apps could be moved over.

His phone line is sharing minutes on my account and I didn't want him buying a stolen phone. At first he found "new" phones on other popular online stores and auction sites, but when I scrutinized the reviews for the phones and the sellers, I wasn't happy. A lot of people were reporting getting so-called new phones that obviously weren't new (some were even getting phones that hadn't been wiped and still had someone else's data on them).

Even the refurbs sounded sketchy with lot's of people reporting phones that were scratched up and with data on them, and obviously not factory refurbs.

Even worse, many people were reporting that their phones had stolen EIN numbers.

Not finding anything I could trust I checked here on Newegg and found this iPhone 4 that Newegg clearly stated is a factory refurb, and that has a 90 day factory warranty from Apple. Moreover it also has a 30 day exchange guarantee through Newegg themselves.

As an IT consultant, I have been using Newegg for going on 10 years now, and trust them, so I at least felt I wasn't going to get ripped off.

The phone arrived in a plain black box, with an Apple-style plastic cradle protecting the phone. The phone was sitting in the cradle with a piece of foam covering it. The phone had clear plastic protecting the face and read panel. The accessories (USB cable, charger, ear buds) were floating loose underneath the cradle, but they were in factory type wrappings.

The phone didn't have a mark on it - it looked like new. After charging over-night and activating, I made several long phone calls and the battery held up fine.

The only slight negative is that the charger appears to be a knock-off, unless Apple uses a different charger for refurbs. It looks just like an Apple cube charger, but there is no "Apple" name on it, and when I Googled comparison photos of genuine Apple cubes and knock-offs, this looked like a knock-off. The lettering was different, the quality of the cut edges of the prongs were rough (genuine Apple cubes have smoothly sanded and polished prongs).

Like I said, maybe Apple uses cheaper chargers for refurbs, or they have an arrangement with Newegg where Newegg supplies the charger. Don't know. The box was not come sealed, so it's possible.

Irregardless, the price is still right, and the phone looks gorgeous. Most importantly I had no issues activating the phone.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT "A NO CONTRACT PHONE"

Pros: NICE QUALITY, CAME WITH ALL ACCESSORIES.

Cons: I WAS EXPECTING A "NO CONTRACT PHONE" WHEN I READ A REVIEW. I CALLED SPRINT TO ACTIVATE THIS PHONE, AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD WITH A 2 YEAR CONTRACT. I DON'T LIKE CONTRACT PHONES BECAUSE IF THE SERVICE IS BAD, OR YOU TERMINATE EARLY....IT'S A VERY EXPENSIVE MISTAKE!

Other Thoughts: I WILL DO MY RESEARCH NEXT TIME AND NOT BELIEVE EVERY REVIEW I READ. THIS WILL MAKE SOMEONE A VERY EXPENSIVE IPOD NOW, ONLY 8 GB. I HAVE AN IPOD (32 GIGS), SO I'M GIVING THIS IPHONE TO A DESERVING KID.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Iphone for backups

Pros: its an affordable non contract iphone.
its fully clean and new.
it work well and came with iOS 5.1.1
you can jailbreak it you want or update it to iOS6
prefect for those who continuously break their iphones with no insurance.

Cons: its packaging, it little black box but what do you expect it a refurbished. Other than that, that it for flaws

Other Thoughts: I recommend this for people that don't have that crummy "assurance" insurance from sprint.
or if you old phone and want to have an iphone then get this. If you want Siri, don't worry they are bunch of guides on the webs that tech how to enable it. but it requires Jailbreaking it.

But hey, it a 200 dollar iphone noncontract.
it hell of a deal considering it cost 399 at sprint store.
