- Pros: After free Windows Mobile 6 update phone is working really good. I like windows style screens and functions. Easy to transfer files with Active Sync. Some free applications can be downloaded from Microsoft. I added 4Gigs memory with micro SD chip. I love my Windows phone now. Phone comes in retail box: one battery and charger, program CD, small "get started" manual and USB cable.
- Cons: When phone arrived I was disapointed. Menu had old Cingular logos, phone did not regonize micro SD card. Many applications did not work. Overall without updating OS to Windows Mobile 6 it would had been useless phone. Also Outlook that came on installation CD was missing registration code. Good thing I had Office 2003 already installed on my laptop.
- Other Thoughts: This phone is not really unlocked phone. It did not work with CellularOne SIM. Only SIM worked was ATT SIM and it can be very frustrating when you think you'r buying unlocked phone and ATT refused to unlock this phone for me. Updating to Windows Mobile 6 is MUST thing to do if you want everything to work correctly including SD card. Update process is somewhat complex and instructions must be followed carefully. After udate you also need new version of Active Sync 4.5 that can be downloaded from Microsoft free of charge.
Horrible Experience
- Pros: Nice layout, thin, easy to use, typing surprisingly easy for small QWERTY keyboard. Windows Mobile has great productivity tools and really helped me stay organized while traveling for business. It's also fairly flexibly and, if you dig in, can do a lot of things you can't with other phones of this generation (changing the interface layout, for example). ****HOWEVER****, those Pros are all outweighed by a single con.
- Cons: This phone has chronic connectivity problems. I believe its a design flaw with the antenna or something having to do with it. Between Dec 2006 and June 2008 AT&T sent me 4 BlackJack phones, all of which suffered issues with dropped calls, lockups when trying to make calls, and another annoying network connectivity symptoms. I finally demanded they send me a BlackJack II, which was much better, but unfortunately that phone is subject to memory corruptions (ringtones and windows media player cease to function after 6 months or so consistently).
- Other Thoughts: I gave up and got an iPhone, so far so good.
- Pros: Great phone has everything I need
- Cons: I using it with T-mobile, in order to send mms and conect to internet you have to change the connection profile from Att to T-mobile. Instruction on T-mobile web page
- Other Thoughts: It comes with 1 battery, usb cable and CD
