1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality & service

Pros: Good price for a smartphone with GPS/WIFI

Cons: Horrible reception & battery life

Other Thoughts: First of all, I received this phone without the headset and mircoSD card – they were included in the picture of the product. The camera can’t be used without the SD card. Secondly, the reception of the phone was horrible. The call could drop a few times for a 10 minutes call no matter I was outside or in my house. Thirdly, the battery life is short. I tried to turn off all the processes running on the background that would eat up the battery, such as fetch email data, GPS, network searching etc. With all these applications off, the battery can only last for a day with the regular usage ( a few phone calls, texts and some web browsing). I have to say I used Samsung before and didn’t have such bad experiences. I guess the problem was caused by un-locking the phone to fit into other carriers? I believe the phone I received is an Europe model.

I wish I could return or replace this phone.

1 out of 5 eggsSo close...

Pros: Fast acting little phone. It really is a snap to use. Seeing a demo of it in action on YouTube sold me on it. I hate slow, jerky acting phones.

Cons: Will not connect at 3G on Straight Talk. It only connects EDGE. That pretty much renders this smartphone useless. Sure it can text and talk. But what good is a SMARTPHONE that can't even download Facebook content in a timely fashion? As a test, I took a photo with its camera, and then messaged that photo to my work cell. It took 6 and a half minutes. -.-

Other Thoughts: I wanted a fast and cheap phone that I could use with Straight Talk just in case something happens to my current phone. Unfortunately without 3G, this phone will be a pain to use and I'm not always near Wi-Fi.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Smartphone for the Price - get one!

Pros: Awesome little phone for the price. Works fine on T-Mobile pay as you go... with no data plan.

Great entry level Android phone. Good build quality, Wifi, GPS, and all the endless other things you can do on an Android phone. Lot's of fun if you like gadgets.

Very good call quality.

Cons: Any con I could come up with is not relavant at this price... 139. No problems in 4 weeks of ownership.

Other Thoughts: My first smartphone. Just what I needed... another addiction to go with computers and home theater. Upgradeitis already setting in.

Thank goodness there are so many free and cheap app's on the 'Google Play' market.

Rooted the phone and flashed a custom ROM. Even got Adobe Flash to work!

5 out of 5 eggsgood small android

Pros: small and not so expensive means if you lose or drop it, it's not like you lost a $500 phone. Samsung quality fit and finish is noticeable.

Cons: small, camera has no flash or autofocus. Not a big deal to me but some people are here to buy a camera. Also, I love the small screen and if I wanted to carry around a television then I would have bought one, instead of a phone.

Other Thoughts: The battery life is fine. I've noticed it doesn't matter what device it is, people always try to evaluate a battery on the first day. New batteries need to go thru many cycles to really take a good charge. My phone lasts two days with heavy use (internet browsing+talking). It will go a week on standby. I always turn wifi off when Im not using it.

1 out of 5 eggsGood phone with a very bad display

Pros: Fast enough for this price range.

Cons: The display is really bad. Cannot use it for browsing or reading text in medium/small fonts.
Camera is bad; touch is sometimes not responsive and other times it is too sensitive (when I try to scroll it instead performs a touch operation).
There is no way to go for a refund either; I tried to go for a refund the same day I received the phone, but was told there is no refund available for this model.

Other Thoughts: For the same (or somewhat less price) you can buy better phones from Motorola or HTC or LG.
Dont go for this - waste of money.

4 out of 5 eggsBasic / Entry Level Android phone

Pros: Price, Android version. Great for starting the 'android' experience, solid build / Samsung quality.

Cons: Battery life. The only way I could probably have 2 days between charges is by not using it at all.
It came with european charger and adaptor but it was missing the headphones.
Non important to me or to be expected for a non expenssive smart phone: camera is really bad, laggs on any real task, mono FM radio.

Other Thoughts: I am a light user (almost no calls, reading a few emails over G2) but I cannot seem to make it more than 24 hours out of it. Yes, WiFi GPS Bluetooth off. With those on, maybe 4/5 hours.
I have heard from a fried that this is the Android experience: great, but short run time. I wonder if is that true or I have just a bad battery...

5 out of 5 eggsNice phone

Pros: phone works great. very easy to use and follow. purchased for my girlfriend to use and she loves it. works well on the T-Mobile and ATT network...which will soon all be one network anyway.

Cons: I have no need for the international plug adapter, but heck, why not have it just in case. not really a con, but the little red star here makes me write something.

5 out of 5 eggsSamsung Mini S5570

Pros: I've read many mixed reviews about the Mini and I think most have under rated the phone. People who complain about battery life should turn off some of the options when not being used (WIFI, GPS, etc;).The viewing screen is small compared to some of the 4G phones, but I have no problem seeing it, and is very clear. And I'm 70 and wear glasses.I think its a great Android phone at a good price...

Cons: Non at this time

Other Thoughts: I do wish Samsung had a larger app market

5 out of 5 eggsvalue.....

Pros: Price. Especially now since it just went down another $20 - right after I bought it,... as usual. Froyo and all the latest for a good price. Came with a 2gb microsd and sd adapter (in case you need one for a camera or something). Moms going abroad and I wanted to get her an unlocked phone for the trip. I ordered another for myself and will review that one and include my moms european experiences after she comes back.

Cons: No autofocus on the camera so I think that is why barcode scanner doesn't seem to work. I personally don't have a reason to scan barcodes so I'm OK with it.

Other Thoughts: Some reviews complain about the 3mp camera with no flash (or autofocus). I haven't really worried about the cameras deficiencies. Samsung HAD to save money somewhere and I'm happy they did it with the camera. Other than that, the phone works well, reception is good, battery life is good, and apps seem to work just fine in spite of the smaller screen. For the money, I think this is a great deal. I'd much rather drop or lose a 200 dollar phone than a 700 dollar phone.
