Samsung Galaxy Note 16GB Blue 3G Unlocked GSM Smart Phone w/ Android OS 2.3 / 8 MP Camera (N7000)

Pros: Amazing device, replaced my old Moto Raz'r, my Clie', my mp3 player, and my laptop. I loved using it! Looked great and worked great. I never put it down.

Cons: Once I had my first mechanical problem, it was all downhill from there. Newegg stated that it only has a 90 day warranty. Fair enough.

While plugged in, it fell and just shy of the floor reached the end of the cord. It stopped it from hitting the floor, but it wrenched the cord in the miniUSB port and destroyed the cord and the port. After that, I could not charge it. I ordered a replacement USB board, (online for about $10 - $15, apparently, this is a common problem.) I replaced the board and thought I was back in business. The plastic components started to self destruct. I was careful disassembling and reassembling, but the plastic is full of cracks and is crumbling apart. It kept randomly rebooting and now will not boot at all. I changed the USB port again, but no luck.

All the parts I can see are broken can be replaced, but I don['t want to keep spending money on parts if the electronics are fried. Perhaps if I can find a repair shop that has a few parts around to test before I spend on my own parts...

Other Thoughts: I loved using this thing. I watched TV in bed on it, played games, I never put it down. I feel like my left hand has been amputated.

This was a big splurge for me. I really can't afford to replace it, especially if it is only going to last 9 months at a time.

Pros: Fast, powerful, big screen, great colors, functional,

Cons: almost too big. be ready for a giant phone. i wear loose fit jeans. its the only reason it fits in my pocket is because i wear a blazer at work and loose jeans on my time off. any type of skinny jean and i can honestly say it wouldn't fit I'm my pocket.

Pros: Giant, beautiful screen.
Stylus.
2 days of battery life on moderate use.
Loads faster than my old Samsung Fascinate.
Excellent camera quality (see cons for other thoughts).

Cons: I knew this before diving into the purchase, but the screen has minor issues for some applications (video and low brightness banding). I don't watch a lot of video on this phone, so it's not a big deal. From what I know, this is a software issue with graphics drivers and could theoretically be fixed in a future ROM release.

There's also a slight orange spot in the middle of most camera photos, depending on the ambient light. It's not really noticeable unless you really look for it though.

Other Thoughts: Before buying this phone, I noticed a lot of reviews on Newegg complained that the phone's package had already been opened, therefore receiving a bad review. Here's what I have to say about that:

THERE IS A VERY OBVIOUS, CLEAR DISCLAIMER PROVIDED BY NEWEGG BEFORE YOU GO THROUGH THE CHECKOUT PROCESS THAT BLATANTLY STATES THAT THE PHONE MAY HAVE BEEN OPENED IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE DEVICE, DEPENDING ON WHERE IT CAME FROM.

How much more clear can Newegg get? Don't knock the egg for something they already warned you about. My phone was opened, and it was also defaulted to a German language, but the phone works perfectly. I have CM9 installed and couldn't be happier.

Pros: This is a service review and inquiry, I'm not familiar with the phone yet.

Cons: I got the phone this morning and the item box was unsealed. The seal clearly states "do not accept if seal is broken" so I got an RMA and shipped it back right away.

After UPS had picked up the phone, I got an email from Customer Service telling me that the manufacturer opens the phones in order to unlock them. So if the phone isn't defective, they'll just send it back to me.

In addition to the seal being broken, the box was filthy dirty, the charger cord was scratched and there was dust under the cover film as if had been lifted and put back again. So I don't know if the phone is defective or not, but it's not in new condition.

Cons: 1. If you decide to place the order for this phone think ten times before to do that, don't make mistake which I did because I expected to receive the brand new item in sealed box instead of it received the open box and used item. The box was very accurately cut and opened at the edge, the phone was not new except accessories . I was very disappointed and wanted to return this phone as soon as possible but don't think that it is easy. I have called to customer services two times ,they gave me the phone number of seller "Brainstorm" called them and requested RMA number but they told me first to return the phone and then the RMA number will be issued but police says that you can't return the item without #RMA. So in short too much headaches. Thanks to one of my friends,he works at Electronic store and decided to buy this phone for $350. I sold it.
2.Short battery life. I had to charge 2-3 times a day.
3.Too big , can't use with one hand, must use two hands.
4. Works slow at T-mob

Other Thoughts: Very bad shopping experience, lost money, disappointed. Buyers stay away from this seller!!!!!

Pros: Thin, light, very fast, large screen but easy to hold and still fits nicely in pockets. OTA update to ICS.

Cons: Almost none with the exception 1 issue phone did not recognize att sim card. it worked after I created a new APN using the same info from a family member (att family plan).

Other Thoughts: New egg have been selling me great products. i always buy new products and they always delivered the new products as promised. may be it is new egg or may be i am lucky. I paid $48.00 more for this phone than what i found in a big well known on line retailer b/c i was hoping new egg would deliver brand new product and they did. I paid very closed attention to buying big investment including a few more bucks if i have to to make sure i don't run into problems. it paid of MOST OF THE TIME (not awlasy).

Pros: Screen - Size, Display
Unlocked GSM worked with Telus even though it was not mentioned in Compatible Carrier & Service notes.
Easily updated to ICS using Samsung Kies software.
Battery is replaceable
Customizable through Android develepment

Cons: Variety of cases for the note are not readily available locally. Be prepared to accept it as a larger phone that will use up more pocket space, and may look awkward using it.
No easy learning method for S-Pen, will take time.

Other Thoughts: Arrived brand new in box without any seal tampering. Was a German based phone that just needed to be changed to English.
Truly an All in one, phone, media player, internet browser when access to a laptop/tablet/pc is not convenient.

Pros: overall great experience.
NOT too big (still fits in a pocket after all) to handle, but requires 2 hands most of the time.

Cons: came with a label on the box that was slit in two along box edge that said, "DO NOT ACCEPT IF SEAL IS BROKEN". WTH? Not sure how many starts to give. Is it used? (I assume I can edit this later)

Other Thoughts: - it immediately upgraded OTA to ICS (June 11 2012)

Pros: * Huge 5.3" screen
* Beyond 720p resolution (1280x800)
* 16x10 aspect ratio = 15% more pixels than today's latest phones
* ICS now out an can be downloaded by wifi
* PEN options (can totally take a call while changing oil, etc)
* One of the best gpus / cpus (1.4ghz with mali 400) even today
* Good battery life
* Lots of accessories on e bay / newegg / azon
* Loud speakerphone
* Great voice quality

Cons: * NO NOTIFICATION LIGHT (pretty important imho)
* Only 2G speeds on T-mobile
* No 4G at all (14.4Mbit HSPA+ 3G however)
* People will say "does that even fit in your pocket?"
* Kinda slow camera
* Mali 400 gpu is stressed due to the enormous amount of pixels on screen if you play advanced games.

Other Thoughts: I got mine from newegg here and it was New, sealed and had no defects. Compared to getting it elsewhere like fleabay, you should really consider getting one here at newegg as newegg is great!

As for this Note, it is still the best phone out, and imho better than HTC One X, Samsung galaxy S 2, S3, iphone, etc. Unless you need 4g or LTE speed data, there is no other phone currently better.
