A fast phone for a fast network.

The fastest network speed available is 4G LTE, so naturally the Skyrocket comes ready to jump right on board and make the most of every blazing advantage the network has to offer. And now you can check voicemails even faster, thanks to Visual Voicemail. It allows you to see your list of messages and who they're from, so you can choose which ones to play or delete. It's a real timesaver.

A processor that makes lightning look slow.

Your Galaxy S II Skyrocket has an astonishingly powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor to keep all your videos, games and info fast and smooth. Your laptop may feel jealous.

4 out of 5 eggsKyle L. Doesn't Understand

Pros: To Kyle L.

This phone DOES HAVE the onboard hardware to receive frequencies to support 3g/4g on T-mobile.

The issue is with the Radio Software that is flashed to the phone. The stock ATT software (AKA radio) is good for T-mobile LTE only.

To use T-mobile 3g/4g you need recovery & root then flash the T-mobile Samsung Blaze radio.

Cons: Have to actually know what you're doing.

Other Thoughts: If you really have 5 eggs worth of tech knowledge you would understand that his phone HAS the hardware to support 3g/4g on T-mobile.

Pros: Great phone, great speed on LTE. Very easy to root so you can remove the bloatware for apps that you can't use without an extra subscription. You can also delete the stock versions of some of the Google apps so you can move them to the SD card as internal storage limited to 2GB and that can disappear very quick with updates to the stock apps and popular apps that do not allow you to move it to an SD card.

Cons: No FM Radio, but that's more the fault of the US carriers disabling the feature when they customized the phones from the international models. If you really want FM radio you'd have to go with the international model I9100 but you won't get LTE data on it.

Other Thoughts: Came with a CyanogenMod installation that wouldn't connect to data at all, even after I deleted the extra APNs and created the correct one with the values from the stock firmware. After I flashed back the stock firmware I was instantly able to connect to LTE data.

Pay attention to the specs, you will not be able to use this phone for 3G services from carriers like T-Mobile as they use a frequency that only phones with radios designed for that frequency can use. Carrier unlocked means you can insert any unlocked SIM card and use the phone right away, it doesn't change the frequencies supported by the phone.

4 out of 5 eggsBang for Buck!

Pros: Excellent for Techie Users
Nice features & performance vs cost
Still well supported by developers
Easy to root, remove bloatware, customize & fix any issues. Parts readily available.
Easy to flash correct radios for carriers other than ATT

Cons: Not for lazy or tech challenged people
Possible hardware or sound issues, but most fixes are well documented.
Poor Battery life for heavy users, but only needs proper setup and extended battery

Other Thoughts: If you want current performance at low cost and are a tech oriented do-it -yourself-er, this is for you.

IMO you cannot get a better new unlocked phone than the SII Skyrocket at this price point.

I bought new, and had no issues. I Don't recommend used unless for parts.

1 out of 5 eggsNot happy

Pros: Phone is fast, I like the screen, lots of features.

Cons: Ordered two phones. One sounds great. The other sounds like the speaker in the ear is distorted. Like it's a blown speaker. Contacted newegg and they advised me I would have to contact Samsung and then have it RMA'd, so I would be without a phone for who knows how long. I was hoping they could have shipped me one out, and I received the box and shipped mine back. I will never buy another cell phone from Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat phone

Pros: + Fast processor
+ Great data performance IF on an AT&T carrier
+ Great screen, high contrast, great color. Not as high-res as some new phones, but still looks excellent
+ Supported by Cyanogenmod installer

Cons: - Battery life is mediocre. I get a full day, but just barely
- Terrible data performance on T-Mobile, Edge speeds and dropouts. The cellular radio on this is only designed for AT&T, even though it is sold unlocked.
- Stock software isn't great. I loaded a custom ROM almost immediately.
- The internal storage performance is terrible. Moving files takes a long time, as do software installs. It's fast enough to be functional, but if a computer had this type of storage performance it would be mocked.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this on Airvoice, which is an AT&T MNVO. The data performance is great. I get H+ almost everywhere, and LTE in the city.

I'm currently running Android 4.3 via Cyanogenmod.

Overall, I'm very happy with this phone.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sharp clear display
Fast processor
Upgradable to Android Jelly Bean

Cons: The battery life is horrible. Wall charger was faulty and I had to use a Wakelock Detector to turn off all the bloatware that runs in the background. Only after that, I was satisfied with its performance.

Other Thoughts: For the price, I could not beat this deal. If I did not have the knowledge that I do, I would have sent this back. I bought an Otterbox Defender for it and I cannot be happier.
