4 out of 5 eggsPerfect Entry Level Smartphone

Pros: This phone has lots of Function in an easy to use package and is ideal for T-Mobile's Pay as You Go subscribers. Most of the time, I use it on the pay by the minute plan. I can switch to a daily data plan as needed.

With "Easy Mode" I can avoid all the clutter I see on other phones and still have immediate access to the apps I use the most.

Cons: The only real issue I have with this phone is that the battery life is so short. I was used to charging my old phone once a week and was surprised to see how quickly this one drained -- even in "Power Saving" mode. I had a hard time remembering to charge this one once a day so the car charger has been a lifesaver for me: Several times I've gotten ready to leave home and realized that my phone needed charging. With the car charger I can charge the phone while I'm on my way to somewhere and have the phone available to use when I get out. I've used the little MyCharge battery a couple of times too.

Other Thoughts: I bought this bundle with the extra chargers because it was on promotion. I strongly recommend them -- if not as a bundle then separately because the battery life really is rather short.

3 out of 5 eggsT-Mobile Unlocked it after 2 months

Pros: Wanted to try Tmobile, but turns out the cellular signal where I travel in middle Wisconsin is by carrier pigeon. Android. 4G LTE. Good enough as a spare phone. Activated at a local Tmobile store. The local store told me if I was not happy with the service, I could have it unlocked and switch carriers. Works great on Str8Talk (with their ATTT micro sim card).

Cons: Had to deal with Tmobile 800 support to get it unlocked. First 30 minutes of waiting call, the person overseas told me to get it unlocked at the store where I bought it. Second call, a month later, told me I had to have service for 2 months or 100 in billing totals. I paid them off. They emailed me the unlock code 2 days later. ATT could not activate this model at a local store (prolly lack of tech knowledge) as this model is not in their Bring Your Own phone deal.

Other Thoughts: Pity am not located near Tmobile towers.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this little phone

Pros: Small, good function

Cons: None for me. I did have one instance of poor reception that was resolved when I walked outside.

Other Thoughts: As a 9-year T-Mobile To Go subscriber, my mobile phone needs are pretty basic. I use the phone for occasional calling and I'm not interested in watching videos on my telephone or dealing with 50+ apps. Most of the time, my 6-year old flip phone was entirely adequate. Sometimes though (especially when traveling), I'd found myself wishing that I could check my e-mail or look up directions while out and about.

The Galaxy Light is the perfect solution for someone like me. I can continue on my pay by the minute plan and If WiFi is available, I can even check my e-mail without a data plan. When do want to use the Internet, I can switch to a daily plan for however many days I like then switch back. I use the phone in "Easy Mode", which lets me keep the 9 extra apps I need onean easy to see and manage page and still provides access to any others I may use occassionally. Power users may prefer the "Standard Mode" with pages and pages of apps.

Activation was easy. My old phone had a larger SIM so it took a 2 minute call to T-Mobile to get my number to the mini-SIM that was included with the phone.

I took advantage of a promotion and bought the bundle with the MyVoyage battery backup and the car charger. I've used both items and they are handy. Since then though, I've seen several promotions the same things and they are generally better or cheaper than the additional cost of the bundle so if I'd recommend just getting the phone without the extras.

5 out of 5 eggsFirst Smart Phone

Pros: I bought 2 of these for my kids. 4G LTE supported and very snappy response. Small enough to fit in your pocket and has a removable battery and microSD slot. I paid $125 including a car adapter and auxiliary battery so you can't beat the price.

Cons: Not really a con, more a fact: the screen and camera's are both lower resolution than a high end phone. For 1/5 what I paid for a Galaxy 4S its a reasonable trade.

Other Thoughts: I love my Galaxy 4S but in many ways this is a more practical phone. The 4S was expensive enough that I constantly worry about breaking or losing it. This very capable phone is cheap enough that those concerns disappear.

2 out of 5 eggsUnreliable connection

Pros: Nice hardware specs, fast processor, minimal lag. Decent amount of onboard memory both ram and rom. LTE data is amazingly fast (I'm coming from a prehistoric 3G phone).

Cons: This phone loses connection to the cell tower constantly. I live in a weak T-mobile zone so I got a signal booster for inside the house. Didn't help at all- the phone would take a long time (if at all) to acquire the amplified signal. If it did I would get 3-4 bars of signal, pretty good, but a few minutes later it would lose connection again. I would miss calls since I wouldn't know that the signal was lost. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the phone or just T-mobile network in general, but either way it's unacceptable if you require reliable service for business or personal. Apparently there are other reviews out there that also describes a weak radio in this phone. However, when I'm in an area closer to the T-mobile towers (at work), I can get a steady 1-2 bars for voice/text, and seemingly solid connection for 4G/LTE.

Other Thoughts: Good phone specs for the price. If a steady reliable connection is not as important to you or if you live in a good coverage area, this phone is great. Don't get it if you're in gray zone for T-mobile coverage. Of course, it's hard to determine if you are in a gray zone until you get the phone and try it out. Maybe borrow a friend's T-mobile phone and test it in your home and work.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Radio

Pros: This phone is nicely sized and at a good price point as I purchased three. Like included software which includes ISIS.

Cons: The radio sensitivity in this phone is one of the worst offered. Continuously searches for best data but has difficulty maintaining a connection in even "good" strength areas. Have three of these phone and they all perform the same. 3rd level tech support could not solve.

Other Thoughts: Would only purchase this phone if I lived directly under a tower

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Phone, but. . .

Pros: Plenty of RAM and speed. Phone is of a decent size. Bigger screen than most in the same category, yet still smaller than the Galaxy screens. Fairly comfortable to hold. Battery life has been strong so far.

Bottom charging/USB port is awesome.

Cons: Well, since I cannot rate the accessories that were supposed to come with this phone, I will write that the biggest con on this deal is NewEgg. Once again, they never follow through with their promotions.

Never received the MyCharge or the car charger.

Samsung, TMobile and Google are all guilty of installing tons of Bloatware. Will most likely be rooting it to get rid of all of the garbage that these companies feel benefits the consumer.

Other Thoughts: Yes, NewEgg actually attempted to make it right this time. They issued me a $20 gift card to replace the items that should have been in box. I still would have rather had the MyCharge.

Seems like NewEgg has been underdelivering a lot lately!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Phone

Pros: Great reception and solid phone. Superior small phone and affordable. Compared to Moto G, better phone with 4G LTE.

Cons: none that I'm aware of

Other Thoughts: For the price, you can't beat this phone. It is a great kids starter phone.

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Pocket Tablet

Pros: Excellent bright, sharp display with very fast power on. WiFi reception is very good and browsing with Firefox is quite fast. Much more responsive than some older tablets that I have. I have not activated the unit as a phone, and I'm using simply as a pocket size tablet around the house. It's slim and light. The MyCharge power charger appears to work very well -charged fast and charges the phone very well

Cons: As with all Androids based systems, lots of stupid stuff - can't quit Apps without special Quit app, lack of really useful standardized help. It's like the Wild West. Not surprising since it's from Google, who have never met an interface they could not screw up to make it worse.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a really good deal, esp when on special sale. Well worth the money
