4 out of 5 eggsthe phone is great, but the battery is fake

Pros: A basic business phone without too much bells and whistles. The cell phone was made in Finland with good quality.

Cons: It was an open box item, so don't expect the shipping package as good as a brand new one. Note that the battery came with the package was clearly a fake one, which didn't have the genuine nokia label and couldn't keep the charge for more than one day. Very disappointed with the fake battery. Newegg does offer the geninue battery for about 10 bucks. I bought two of them and they worked much better than the fake one.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a Good Business Phone

Pros: Solid Build, not a cheap plastic phone, quality parallels the IPhone.

Cons: For anyone who calls companies for a living and has wants to use the companies dial by last name directory, this phone is a nightmare! There is no straight forward way to change from numbers to letters, and by thetime you go through the steps, the company phone systems ask you to start over!
If you're on the road and have to dial a number for support, like 1-800-GATEWAY, forget it, it's not going to happen on this phone! There is no way of determining what letters correspond with the numbers, unless you keep a copy of a normal phone keypad with you!
A major disadvantage with this phone is ring tone volume! From the moment I bought it, I just can't hear it ring, regardless of what ringtones put on it! I've actually suffered the entire two years I've had this phone, with a Nirvona song, which is the loudest thing the AT&T rep could find! I'm 56, and Nirvana is not on my normal playlist! 2 stars for quality, with nothing else positive!

Other Thoughts: If you're like me, a middle age business person(I'm a Recruiter, so I'm always on the phone), you'll have major problems seeing the little numbers and letters on this phone! Especially at dusk and beyond!
I bought this phone because I had used a Nokia N63! that was spectacular, and felt that I'd stick with Nokia, and go with a smartphone with internet wireless capabilities! This phones internet speed is a real problem, it's far too slow to be anything but an annoyance! My two year plan is up next month, and I don't know what to get! I've suffered with the limitations of this phone for two years! I like the quality of Nokia, but the proprietary Nokia PC Software is always trying to attach to the internet! Just another piece of malware as far as I'm concerned! I wish the Nokia/Windows deal was ready and I could get a quality Nokia Phone, with the windows operating system! That should be the business winner!

3 out of 5 eggsOverpriced

Pros: Decent phone with lots of bells and whistles if you are used to Nokia phones. Good phone, bad deal!

Cons: Overpriced, sold for $40 less last year. Would be a good deal for $99

5 out of 5 eggsslick and sexy

Pros: I have eventually upgraded from this phone and gave it as a gift to my friend. But I have nothing to say about this device but good words. In comparison with E72/E73 it has superior radio and much louder head-peace, better, more solid materials except screen glass. overall it is more like 8000 series phones. The most solid phone I have ever owned.

Cons: If you are not Symbian fan, you are most likely have trouble using it. If you are Symbian fan, it will keep you busy.

Other Thoughts: I have seen people who have bought this phone because of looks most likely and they would not know how to change wallpaper and rington after half a year of using it.They have never heard of Gravity, GoogleMaps and threaded sms. So you kind of have to digg Symbian to like it.... Also, I wish nokia kept this exact body and just upgrade the internals when they came up with E72/73, like Apple did with iPhone.

5 out of 5 eggsA Great Buy...

Pros: -Price
-Build quality
-Look & Feel
-GPS with voice guidance
-Not a BB

Cons: -CPU slow at times
-Menu layout
-2.5mm headphone jack
-Radio will only function with headphones plugged in, not with BT headset or loudspeaker

Other Thoughts: -BT works perfectly with my Asus laptop, T505 and S9-HD
-Dropped it twice and still works fine
-Decent battery life
-Good free app selection from Ovi Store

I use this phone primarily as a music player, modem for my laptop, GPS unit as well as call and text. Does all well.

Overall I'm very pleased with this phone even with the "cons" (all minor) I've listed above. I'd buy it again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat phone except...

Pros: Great phone, good quality, many features including free GPS (unless if you want to use the A-GPS and pay for it). Never had any issues with this phone.

Cons: The only con is that this phone does not have the telephony "n" (number" option that would append to the end of a string, see other thoughs. Audio could be a bit louder. No telephony code "n", see Other Thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I use this phone primarily to make phone calls also as music player (in the car) and GPS guidance in the US and Europe. Why the one star deduction? Because it does not have a critical (for me) telephony code “n” which would allow me to append a number at the end of a string so that I can make phone calls to Europe without entering telephone numbers twice. For example, assume I am in Greece and want make a call to a hospital I would dial 2132077000. If I am in the US and want to call this number using my calling card because it cost only 2c a minute I would call a number which has the format: xxx-xxx-xxxx-"p"-PIN#-"n" (where xxx-xxx-xxxx is the calling card access number, "p" is the telephony code for pause which pause for a few seconds so that the previous string of characters have been dialed before the phone continues dialing automatically the PIN# and when it reaches at the “n” code the phone asks you to enter a number. In this step you can enter a number manually or select one from

5 out of 5 eggsGreat For The Price

Pros: Solidly built. Feels great in my hands. I prefer the qwerty keyboard over the touchscreen of the 5800XM. I can type fast. Plays good music. Great business phone. Excellent reception. Bluetooth works well and phone has not crashed yet. Web surfing is good with Opera Mobile browser.

Cons: Screen Resolution could have been better, along with a faster chip. OS is slightly outdated, but does its job. Operamini browser pops up a lot asking me to reconnect. Opera Mobile is stable and works well, however.

Other Thoughts: This phone came out a couple of years ago and is selling at less than half its original cost. Great deal if you want a very good phone.

Pros: first purchase via newegg. no problems what so ever. i am usually not a fan to order on line. not any more, at least with these guys.
great product. orderdered on saturday noon, received on tuesday... with regular shipping.

Cons: i guess you cant beat this price for unlocked phone, but still, i think phones should be half the price.

Other Thoughts: i have read many reviews for various items in the past few day, and cannot recall any that involed bad customer service, bad/wrong item description, slow shipping.

1 out of 5 eggsFallen from Grace

Pros: Made in Finland. Dropped it several times and it has always survived. Does everything. Well crafted.

Cons: Bluetooth incompatibilites about. Do a search for e71 bluetooth disconnecting and you will see. I bought almost a dozen bluetooth speakers because the phone speaker isn't loud enough. None of the bluetooth speakers would work. Nokia only supports their own brand of accessories, so you're out of luck if you want a blueant, convergence etc. Dismal speaker. Free OVI maps is not integrated, so if you want to map an existing contact, you have to manually enter the destination.

Interface is horribly complex and confusing, documention falls short.

Built-in HP printer driver will not work, others have this problem.

The ONLY calendar it will sync with is Nokias or Outlook.

None of the firmware updates have corrected the problems, just make the phone slower.

Other Thoughts: Potentially great phone with lots of bugs and idiosyncracies.
