The slim and elegant Nokia E63 gives you the tools and interface needed to keep abreast of your world, handling work e-mail and multimedia on the go. Integrated 802.11b/g WiFi gives you access to open networks at work, home or on the road. The included 2.0MP camera/camcorder provides your own media recorders, and Bluetooth connectivity and stereo music streaming will keep you entertained if no one else is bending your ear. Getting a SIM card from your service provider will complete your connectivity wherever you stray.
Its stylish stainless steel case is matched to a 2.36-inch 320 x 240-pixel LCD screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. The system offers easy input with auto-completion and correction, and it learns from you for fast, error-free typing. Two customizable home screen views include active standby plug ins and application shortcuts for easy multitasking.
For beautifully styled mobile efficiency, the Nokia E63 offers efficient workflow, quick communications and instant entertainment at your fingertips!
Pros: This is a very intuitive phone with a comfortable keyboard, great battery life, and latest features. Features that I use daily: Flashlight with dedicated key (Not standard on E71) Music player/FM radio with standard headphone jack Comfortable QWERTY keyboard, better than E71. Stereo Bluetooth over my car's hands free calling Very good phone reception and call quality WiFi with a good browser, I also installed the opera mobile Will work with a bluetooth GPS receiver, or gets the location of the closest cell tower with google maps.
Cons: WiFi implementation lacking for certain corporate networks, not a problem for standard hot-spots or home networks. Camera could be better, and gps could have been included. Also, the plastic does not feel as good as the E71 metal case.
Other Thoughts: I have been shopping for a phone for the past 6 months to upgrade my aging N75. I was not a fan of the E71 because of the 2.5mm Jack, and lack of dedicated flash light key. Also, I liked the keyboard of the E63 more. I also did not like using a touch phone, and after breaking the hinge on my N75, I did not want a slider or flip phone. The less moving parts, the better. I also wanted WiFi so that I did not have a monthly data bill. The E63 was everything that I was looking for.

Pros: For a QWERTY smartphone, this workhorse delivers, substance over glamor. 3.5mm headphone jack; S60 3rd FP1 (and some features from FP2); Wifi (b/g); installable software abounds, if you know where to get it; podcasts (Audio and video) straight to the device, decent browser; Bluetooth pairing, browsing, upload and download works quite well and quickly; sound quality is good and signal strength is superb; Nokia Messaging included in firmware; gigantic (1500mA) battery is good for days and days.
Cons: Download! is junk, most of the download links provided on the device don't have anything useful; OVI is not ready yet; no microSD card in package; difficult to change volume while in a call (You have to take the device away from your ear); included headphones lack luster; while there are thousands of installable apps out there, there is nothing like an App Store (yet). Camera is fixed-focus and rather weak. No games installed and none easily installable.
Other Thoughts: MicroSD cards are cheap, so pick one up if you don't have one already. UMTS won't work on T-Mobile but should work on AT&T, Edge works quite well. Hopefully OVI is everything Nokia promises.

Pros: For what you get this is an excellent phone for the price. Browsing over 3G isnt as fast as wifi but its quite acceptable. Speaker and loudspeaker quality are good, as is reception. The keyboard is fast and responsive, I have not had any laggy text input as reported by others.
There are a ton of custom themes and applications for S60v3, and installing new ones is easy. Its the same software and fast chipset thats in the E71, sans GPS. Seamless integration with the microSD. Decent camera quality in well-lit situations. Excellent calendar/organizer that you can set alarms with. Fully customizable home screen and menu icon layouts.
My favorite feature, by far, is the flashlight button. This is the single greatest "DUH!" addition to a phone that is amazingly handy - a lot of people i know already use their phones' screen in the dark and this LED takes it to the next level. Its not too useful as a camera flash but its the best integrated flashlight you'll ever have.
Cons: You can not disable the camera sound unless you use the silent profile. Even when you disable flash, the LED still lights up slightly as an indicator when a picture is taken. I understand the law in some countries state that the camera sound must be forced on, but not in the USA.
I would have appreciated it if they stuck with the mini usb connector instead of going with micro USB. Also cant charge over USB.
It appears that when in dual network mode (3G+GSM) the phone defaults voice calls and data to 3G while in the presence of both services. I was hoping that it would automatically place calls on GSM for the longer talk time while being able to standby on 3G for the better standby time. The way it is right now if i want longer talk time I have to force it to use GSM and then switch back over to 3G when I want faster internet access. I've emailed Nokia on this and I'm hoping that its not beyond the capabilities of the phone to have an automatic setting.
Other Thoughts: No distracting and power wasting menu animations- if you want to show off some effects, download the Nokia Photo Browser. Battery life is good, I've been getting 2-3 days between charges during moderate use. If you carry on long conversations you may want to use GSM and switch back to 3G when you need data, as GSM talktime is more than double that of 3G on this phone (10 hrs vs 4 hrs). Update your firmware with Nokia Software Update, v400 is out now (you need a micro USB cable for this).
I never liked the feel of the iPhone and other touch screens, most of them lack a real keyboard and I cant stand typing on a touch screen. The E63 has a great keyboard and is of reliable construction (not a slider phone or flip phone).
Overall, this is an an excellent communications device. Its not some app or media player with a phone tacked on. Even though this is my first Symbian phone, it still has that familiar Nokia feel to it: its designed to do its job well.

Updated Review after 6 months

Pros: Good battery life for a smartphone. Decent screen. Flashlight. 3.5mm Jack is very useful for music. I have an 8gb SDHC card for music. Decent camera pictures. Call quality is superb, simply one of the best i've had. Ability to multitask. GREAT web browser. Plenty of programs free and paid.
Cons: The keyboard CANNOT keep up if you type moderately fast. After 6 months of ownership, i sold it for this very reason. I sometimes have to slow down my typing b/c the OS on the screen hasn't had enough time to take in all the key presses. If you don't pause or type slow, a lot of the keys just won't register and you'll have a bunch of jibberish. There is just no excuse for something like this on a qwerty keyboard phone. The app store is simply a joke, but you can still install programs from elsewhere. ISMS gives you the ability to have threaded SMS. The phone DOES NOT have threaded SMS, which i found to be another annoying thing about the phone. If you use this on tmobile, you'll have to be download a proxy program in order to be able to send and receive full size MMS messages. Signal is usually good, but sometimes when you go into the subway or a building where you lose it, you'll find that it takes a long time to gain it back. But this is occasional, not constant.
Other Thoughts: I mainly had this phone for calls, MMS/SMS, and mp3 player, so i cannot say much about the email capability, but i can assure you that typing a long email will not be fun at all. The wifi can pick up my home router from pretty far (3rd floor to basement). Mp3 player is fine, but shuffle mode doesn't seem to shuffle much at all. I feel like i'm hearing the same songs over and over each time i shuffle all tracks. I would have kept this phone if not for the impracticality of the keyboard, going back to my blackberry.

Pros: Great battery life, awesome keyboard, flashlight, cool apps. This is just a generally well made phone. Can play music and video and handles the internet quite well.
Cons: Can freeze up a little bit if you try to go too fast on it, remember its not a pc! I'd recommend getting a memory card and a case, this phone doesn't have massive storage capabilities on it.
Other Thoughts: people will ask if you if its a blackberry more times than you will be able to count, no its not, and it doesn't have massive black(berry)outs. Oh, and you will not be able to see your sim contacts, you have to go to options then sim directory to copy them to the phone's memory.
