Learn more about the Nokia 2600 Classic

Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered “tampered with” or “defective”.

3 out of 5 eggsWas not what I ordered but I will review it anyway.

Pros: + Very minimal design, does exactly what you need from a phone.

+ Has a camera!

+ When you hold down a key, it continues to make the delightful tone.

+ Sound quality is quite alright, I can hear clearly as well as speak clearly through it.

+ Apparently comes pre-installed with Ms. Pacman.

+ Nokia!

+ Has multimedia support.

+ Does indeed support instant messaging and mobile internet, even has an app for wikipedia if you find that a pro (cont. on first point of cons)...

Cons: - ...however the device is simply stuffed with bloatware (such as that Wikipedia app, why not just use the mobile internet if you are that bent on using Wikipedia? Getting to the app takes longer than opening the web, which is literally just a push of a button) that you can not even really use due to how much lag the phone has. Even the loading time to go from just the phone wallpaper to the menu is abysmally long.

- Changing the keypad tone does not seem to do much of anything. Even when I supposedly turn the volume off entirely.

- I feel as though I can break the phone in half just by accidentally squeezing it too hard. Which really is a shame considering "Nokia" is synonymous with "Indestructible" on the internet. To be entirely honest, the instruction manual feels sturdier than the phone.

Other Thoughts: I ordered a Nokia 100 on the 22nd of June, it is still registered as "Packaging" in my invoice, and this phone simply showed up out of nowhere. Considering the price difference between the two, I believe I will keep this phone and give it to my mother, she is a fan of simplistic phones that perform the task of calling someone in a simple manner; and I believe she had a 2600 a while ago.

Also just as a note, Ms. Pacman is -not- pre-installed, but instead a placeholder is that still is there to take of part of your phones memory.

The camera is also 128x160.

. . . And there is no Snake.

Three stars because I find the phone to be quite adequate, however leaves much to be desired.
