1 out of 5 eggsgreat... until it bombed

Pros: Everything about it WAS great (with a few minor glitches). I tormented myself about the cost until I realized it was justified by taking the place of a smartphone, a good digital camera, and a GPS. (Nokia site and Ovi store stunk though.) It was impressive, until...

Cons: it just inexplicably DIED one day, after less than 3 months of use. Didn't drop it, no liquid spills, nothing. Suddenly won't turn on, won't charge, won't hard reset, NADA. It's literally a $400 paperweight now. Googled around, and have seen than a few folks have had this problem.

Other Thoughts: Not looking forward to dealing with Nokia customer service; especially now that the company is falling apart.

5 out of 5 eggsPractical and well made

Pros: GREAT camera -- Real shutter, xenon flash, 12mp, Zeiss optics
Good Battery Life -- 2x longer than my wife's galaxy
Colors! -- Good selection of colors
Solid construction -- Gorilla glass etc.
Penta-band -- T-mobile USA compliant!! It can also be used on almost any GSM network at full 3.5g speeds (where available)
AMOLED screen -- vibrant
Built in maps (no need for data connection)
HDMI connection
USB device connection

Cons: -- Not as many apps as other brands (still enough for me)
Slow Updates
-- Bad Web browser (it has flash enabled, but Opera mobile is a better choice)
-- Slower processor (which means better battery life)

Other Thoughts: I bought the phone from nokia before it was available here. I use the phone with my mac and with google and have no problems getting everything to sync. The 3.5g speed is more than fast enough for anything you will ever do with the phone -- my old android was 4g (t-mobile) and the n8 is just as fast.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cool color, very nice camera (better camera than a lot of point and shot cameras out there with that Zesis lens), the HD video is super. Free GPS which is nice. Trust me on photo and camera stuff, I am a semi-pro. I took jobs like wedding and stuff. I use canon 40d with 3 lenses, L 70-200mm f4, 17-55mm f2.8, and a cheap lens 50mm f1.8.

Cons: if you are a mac user, please stay away from this phone. They just sign with window 7, which means the mac support is getting down. At least it wont get better.
This is a very bad phone, and this is why: keep disconnect my calls. it happens everyday. I only call out and in about 10 times a day. I am going to return it for that simple reason. I need a phone to call people, so if it doesnt have that basic option, it is not a phone anymore.

Other Thoughts: it is a cool device with nice camera, nice HD video, great color (mine is green), but a good phone required good quality of calling in and out. Disconnect my call is not nice for I have paid 400 big bucks. I want my connection, and this N8 is not helping. I am a die hard fan for Nokia since a teen, I want to give it a shot compared with Iphone4. Sadly that N8 disappointed me.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: * Awesome camera
* Decent OS
* Lots of functionality built-in to the OS, rather than needing external apps

Cons: * Hardware stability leaves much to be desired

27 days after I received my phone, it completely locked up. After attempting to power cycle it by long-holding the power button, it wouldn't turn back on. Googling around, I'm not the only one to have this problem. Nokia really needs to get on this defect.

Other Thoughts: Newegg very graciously accepted my return on this despite it being after 30 days by the time they responded to the RMA request. I ended up buying an Android phone instead.

1 out of 5 eggsVery bad warranty repair

Pros: All Pros have been blown by the very poor warranty repair services

Cons: The camera button failed after 40 days usage.

Other Thoughts: Use only 40 days, the camera button stopped working. Sent it back and waited 20 days to fix and received it today. But... my almost new phone with perfect condition came back with top cap chipped. It's definitely not damaged during shipping. So... it's someone in the repair center crashed it or tried to open it with force. Have written email and will call customer service tomorrow. Will see what will happen.......

Have used Nokia N95, N85, N97 then this N8.... If they really blow my N8... Will switch to google phone.

5 out of 5 eggsNokia N8

Pros: Wow! This phone does everything. Nice user interface. Great media player for video and MP3's. I got Swype at the OVI store and the onboard keyboard is real easy to use. GPS is fast to get a position. I installed Skype and VOIP works great. The aluminum casing is great.

Cons: I haven't found any yet.

Other Thoughts: Reviewer talk about Symbian^3 not being as good as Android, but it does everything a smartphone should do. I am real happy with Symbian^3

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely amazing product

Pros: Let me start off by saying that this phone is built like a TANK. The build quality is absolutely superb. No creaky joints or loose caps. There is no doubt that the physical quality of the phone is top of the line. Here are some quick points:
-Unquestionably, the best camera on any phone
-SIM and microSD slot covers are tight
-notification light (the home button)
-excellent voice quality
-excellent stereo audio recording during videos
-sound quality (3.5mm) is superb
-AMOLED screen is stunning and works good outdoors
-an S^3 update will be coming soon to fix the laggy UI problems
-great photo and video editing software onboard
-small pinhole LED charging indicator
-PENTAband 3G

Cons: Like many of the reviews online, I have to say that S^3 is slightly disappointed primarily due to the unintuitive placement of menus. One has to dig around to find settings buried deep into menus and sub-menus (e.g. setting up an EAP-PEAP protocol). Some negative aspects:
-placement of the 3.5mm headphone jack makes it difficult to type horizontally
-the HDMI cover is slightly loose
-not the most abundant choice of apps on the Ovi store
-the micro USB slot is so well cut into the aluminum that it feels too sharp
-the notification light is not that bright
-front-facing camera is noisy in the dark
-power button is stiff

Other Thoughts: Many of the negative aspects listed are very minor complaints. Don't let most of those set you back since I maybe nit-picky about the details. Overall an amazing phone with tons of features. The N8 is an ideal phone for people who travel a lot due to its pentaband versatility. Check it out in person!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is the best phone ever, has all you need and feels like a phone and trustful! Finally Nokia made something on good price to bit everybody else. The battery is good if you use Internet, it goes fast, photo quality is amazing even the night shoots!

Cons: Price is to low , should be like iPhone around $800 :) , this is just a joke!

Other Thoughts: Comparing to the iPhone , you can even thing about it, Nokia n8 is a phone not a toy!
