5 out of 5 eggsGreat SmartPhone

Pros: • Responsive OS with the exception of social media
• Long battery life – usually 3-4 hours drains it 10%
• Display clarity is great thanks to ClearBlack; setting the phone to vivid colors makes it pop even more
• Comes with case, although it is hard to put on/off & is rather thin so protects mostly from scratches and not drops
• Events home screen shows Facebook & Twitter except cannot update both at the same time like Symbian
• AT&T will not force you into a data plan so you can use it as a wifi only device

Cons: • Lack of supports/apps – this may change when Jolla Sailfish gets going
• Sensitive screen – constantly selecting something when I am just scrolling
• Volume a tad on the low side, especially the speakerphone
• Syncing to Outlook – does not work with the latest version of Nokia Suite so had to install an older version
• Shutter sound does not turn off
• No dedicated camera button
• Cannot zoom camera once recording has started
• Twitter app is slow; Tweetian is a good alternative
• Button are on the small side & close together so sometimes can be hard to find and press, or you press the wrong one
• Not a lot of customization/personalization such as colors & fonts

Other Thoughts: This is a solid unlocked GSM phone for those looking for something different. It also is not considered a smartphone by AT&T and thus you do not have to have a data plan. Shame that the Nokia killed the Meego OS so apps/support are sparse but hopefully Jolla Sailfish will change that.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome phone; too bad Nokia will no longer continue it

Pros: It is a great phone, even if you don't care about open source. The UI is rather elegant and the UX is much better than Android or iOS. It actually feels like you are using a smartphone; not just an appliance.

Cons: - No longer supported by Nokia
- A lot of the N900/N810 can't be easily ported since there is to longer a stylus and it doesn't use XRandR

Other Thoughts: As much as I love this phone, it is hard to recommend it to somebody who wants full support. If you are a developer, its a great phone. If you are not, then I think you may want to look elsewhere. The 4 egg rating is assuming you know something about programming and the command line. I would give it a 3 egg if you don't.

3 out of 5 eggsSuper Looks, Bad Battery

Pros: Looks, looks and amazing craftmanship. This phone feels almost as good in the hand as an iPhone 4. Really fun interface and i love the feeds (twitter and facebook) as well as WiFi hotspot. Mail interface is above average.

Cons: Battery, i have an exchange account and GMail (IMAP) account setup and the battery does not last 5 hours on average use. Really surprised. Apps selection is limited but you can find the bare basics (decent games, tweak apps, etc...)

Other Thoughts: I find that the earpiece volume is too low, specially while in the car. Camera takes good shots, not iPhone 4S good but similar to iPhone 4. Comes with case (cool).

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Beautiful

Pros: Beautiful, the phone is beautiful to look at, beautiful to hold, and beautiful to use. The beauty is not just skin deep, the smooth transition, the swipe gesture, the logical layout, the way the texts pop on the AMOLED, it is just a pleasure to use. The phone also has most of the functions I required baked in. Twitter, email, feed reader, to name a few. Even some quality games, such as NFS and Galaxy on Fire.

Cons: The app store so far is pretty bare. There are a decent number of good app on there, such as podcatcher, but most of the higher profile apps on iphone and android is not and probably will never make it to Meego.

Other Thoughts: I want my phone to work fast and smooth, to multi-task, to be able to browse the web on the go, and to play a little game and media. The N9 excels at all those tasks and looks good doing them. If you can live with the limited app selection, this is probably one of the best phone money can buy.

1 out of 5 eggsHow much?

Pros: I don't have the phone... I'm just surprised by the price....
Nokia should wake up and look around. there are many many devices for lower price that I'm sure will crush that phone and the new Meego OS. My previous phone is Nokia N900 with the maemo os which turned out to be a big disappointment since Nokia stopped the support for the os a month after i bought the phone.. which ofc i purchased here.

Cons: Do not know

Other Thoughts: Nope

5 out of 5 eggsWas waiting for this phone since N900...

Pros: 1. Pentaband (if you travel EU <-> US)
2. Simple, lightweight exterior design
3. Simple, lightweight UI
4. Simple, lightweight OS (plain Linux with all advantages and disadvantages)
5. Not a Microsoft product
6. Not a Google product
7. Not an Apple product
8. Root/Developer Mode available from factory without any hacks
9. Tools: terminal, ssh client and server, vnc etc.
10. Decent web browser (comparing to my last phone), still need to try to install Mobile Firefox when I find some time.
11. Decent camera (good enough for me, I normally use DSLR)
12. Gorilla glass
13. Rubber/Silicon cover in the box
14. Maps are free, work offline and come in two flavors: car navigation and plain maps
15. LED flash light - you can use it as a torch.

Cons: 1. Battery is a disappointment. Old Nokia phones used to last several days on one charge. I would prefer this phone to be bigger/thicker and lasts more than a day on one charge. But I guess this is a contemporary trend, so I will not find anything significantly better.
2. That little USB plug doors. They will break one day, I am quite sure. If it will not be me, it will be one of my kids.
3. LED flash light - I was hoping for xenon as in N8.

Other Thoughts: I skipped the lack of apps in Cons on purpose. I just do not care about all that bloatware called apps. All I need comes from factory. Everything else I will try compiling from the source.

"This is Linux phone, use the source Luke."

5 out of 5 eggsPentaband...

Pros: All
They should start distribution process in US because it's windows brother is no match... just the way it is.
UI is clean and efficient. Easy to operate.

Cons: Better support regardless of location. Upgraded manually to 1.1 and got some improvements.

Other Thoughts: I would buy from newegg but they just got it...
