4 out of 5 eggsGood unlocked phone, but still AT&T branded

This review is from: Nokia Lumia 920 32GB 4G LTE White 32GB Unlocked Cell Phone 4.5" 1GB RAM

Pros: - Lumia 920 has been a solid 4G Windows phone historically
- Great price

Cons: - Phone comes unlocked (works with any valid SIM), but with AT&T branding and AT&T bloatware. Branding is present both in hardware (logo on front panel) and software (boot screen and bloatware). When I was buying it on NewEgg (and I bought two), nowhere in the description of the product did it say that this is a former AT&T phone and not a factory phone. While AT&T bloatware apps can be easily removed, the boot screen is a much harder challenge. Fortunately there is no AT&T startup sound, just a boot screen with a logo.
- Comes with some other bloatware apps (like ESPN and Weather.com), but they all are easily removable by the user.
- Paper manual looks like it was printed on a copier in some knock-off shop in China - it is zoomed out and blurred to the point that you can't read anything. Let's hope you won't need the manual.
- Protective plastic on the back of both phones that I bought is peeled off and dirty from inside, giving it an impression that it is not a new phone, but rather refurbished. I hope it is not what it looks like.
- There was an issue with the order, as 6 days after I have placed it it still reads as "In packaging" phase on NewEgg order history. I contacted NewEgg on 5th day after ordering, they could not explain it and said they will follow up. A day later I got the package delivered, but it seems like it was shipped before I contacted them. So it appears that the order was shipped, but the NewEgg never updated its status online. It still reads "In packaging" while I am holding delivered goods in my hands.

Other Thoughts: - Overall, a good deal on Windows Phone as long as you can live with AT&T branding on front panel and boot screen and don't mind uninstalling AT&T bloatware.

5 out of 5 eggsLumia 920

This review is from: Nokia Lumia 920 32GB 4G LTE White 32GB Unlocked Cell Phone 4.5" 1GB RAM

Pros: A real solid feeling phone with many pros going for it.
Great still camera and video cam.
32 GB of onboard storage.
VERY snappy and responsive phone has never lagged on me at all.
Bright, clear and tough screen that resists getting marked up.
Good MP3 player.
Just the right amount of apps for my use.
An easy to understand and use GUI.
Windows 8 works great on this phone, and is easy to use and customize.

Cons: The only con with this phone is that I have to have a after market gel skin on it, and I keep it in a case on my belt. The stock surface of this phone is too slippery, and hard to hold on to as this phone is heavy built...which is a good thing.

Other Thoughts: If you want a good, solid and fast phone, and do not care about getting all the apps that come with Android devices or Apple, then get this one, you will like it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood price on an excellent phone

This review is from: Nokia Lumia 920 32GB 4G LTE White 32GB Unlocked Cell Phone 4.5" 1GB RAM

Pros: This phone is one generation old but saves hundreds of dollars. It's well made, has a lovely screen, 32GB memory and an above average camera. Qi wireless charging. Runs Windows Phone 8.1 very well. It is the equivalent to a $600 phone for $350.

Cons: Not quad core but still quite fast. Heavy -- its well built
