Motorola improves on a classic with the SLVR L7 phone. This evolution of its iconic predecessor is even slimmer than before. Its sleek black edge and silver facade gives it a bold but sophisticated look.
Keep in touch with your friends by using AOL, Yahoo!, MSN or ICQ instant messaging services. Or you can send emails and text messages. It’s a quad-band phone, so you can give them a call. The phonebook can store pictures taken with the on-board 0.3 mega pixel camera so you can see who is calling before you answer.
The phone is designed to help keep you safe, and legal. Instead of holding it to your ear you can use a Bluetooth hands-free device or the built-in speakerphone. Voice-dialing lets you do it all without touching the phone.
Pros: Best feature by far is Itunes. Large display for a candybar phone and a great tactile keypad. It can do video and photos with different pixel settings for whatever your intended use will be. Playing music through its external speaker isn't bad for its size. Even at full volume there is no distortion unlike most other phones! As others have noted this phone is seems to be indestructible...surviving nearly four years of punishing use. Call clarity is great also.... It's too bad the RAZR line isn't built like this phone.
Cons: Limited support for customizing the themes. Most wont work and others still will only partially work (theme packs). The expansion bay (from what I hear-havent tested it myself) will only accept 512mb chips at best! Mp3s are limited to 128kbs (whatcha expect?) and the most I could ever fit was 70 songs (again whatcha expect?). Loading the songs through Mini USB are agonizingly slow... we're talking over an hour!!! Longer if you need to remove the playlist before adding more. And yet even longer if you choose the random playlist option!
Other Thoughts: All in all a great phone... I even went and got a cheapo prepay phone to strip the sim chip after my contract ended to keep using it. I tried using a RAZR, but they pale in comparison to my four year old SLVR. I love that lil guy.

Love This Phone, Disappointed in NewEgg!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Very nice phone, good volume, good range, and it is very attractive. I especially like the speaker phone feature which works very well with excellent volume as well. I haven't had a chance to try the music player yet, due to the con below.
Cons: The phone does "NOT" come as pictured in the photos. The photos show headphones, data cable, program cd and an sd card. None of these items were included. The only items in the box were the charger and the charger adapter. I phoned NewEgg and got no satisfaction in resolving the missing items. I could have returned the product, but that would have been an exercise in futility.
Other Thoughts: I founds the other items through retailers on A****n for a very good price, but I shouldn't have had to purchase them as they were represented to come with this phone. I am disappointed in my purchase because of this. Otherwise, the phone works very well.

Other Thoughts: I use tmobile, sprint and Boost mobile and Just ended my contract with Att. All of these phones had 1-4 bars in my house but no matter which phone i was using or what service provider i never had 0 bars. This phone goes from 2-0 bars and i have already missed 3 calls in 1 day. Reception completely drops with this phone and in my business i cant afford to miss a call.

HAD 2 RAZRs NOW HAVE 2 SLVR L7s
Reviewed By: FORMER RAZR OWNER on 10/20/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: 1) New Egg - came nearly overnight w/ no probs 2) Battery Life - can go entire week on one charge (my usage is moderate compared to some) 3) Candybar Form Factor - a welcome change from high $$ smart phones, min 2yr contracts, and (newly mandatory) costly data plan 4) Built like a tank but does not weigh like one 5) Excellent sound quality compared to my prev Razor
Cons: Very few - 1) For those interested in the iTunes feature: it works well but requires wired ear buds for stereo (note: SLVR L7 is iTunes "compatible" not an iTunes product - but app is easily dwnld 'ed and works w/o a hitch. Do not believe that phone supports any stereo bluetooth headsets.
Other Thoughts: I liked this phone so much that I ordered my wife one too and she loved it - even after comparison shopping for existing subsidized "Smart Phones" deals. It was a far, far better (and cheaper) choice than signing another 2-year contract w/ xx&x - Now I can "walk" at any time and my monthly bills are insanely reasonable... also wanted to use my existing pigtails / chargers. Love this phone! -so much so that even if mine died tomorrow prematurely, I would buy the same phone from the same supplier (New Egg) again.

Affordable Phone

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Solid construction, vivid screen, and built-in iTunes syncing. Can assign functions to different buttons.
Cons: Number keys are kinda small. 100 song limit in iTunes. Only accepts up to 512 micro sd card. Having to buy an adapter to listen to music.
Other Thoughts: I'm a bike courier and needed a cell phone that could not only replace my broken Razr but also hold up to the trials of the job. This phone is pretty good because unlike the Razr I don't have to flip it open which saves time and it is a better fit into my messenager bag's cell holster.
Put a Invisible Shield on the screen and it seems to be working great.
Phone came in a retail box with a manual and power adapter.
