3 out of 5 eggsThe Motorola SLVR L7

Pros: So I got this phone about 2 years ago and was thrilled with it at first. Reception was great when I first got the phone. The Phone plays music for quite a long time. I have had it going for as many as 6 hours of using the phone's speakers, not headphone and it has been great about music playing battery life.

Cons: In recent months the reception has not been as great as it was at first, in fact it is starting to get to the point where I have trouble with almost any call.

Another con is the talking battery life on this phone. While it can play music for hour and hours talk on it for 2 hours and it has one bar of battery life left.

One of my biggest frustrations with this phone is availibility of replacement pieces. On a trip I lost the headphone adaptor jack to this phone and have spent about 8 months trying to get a new one. The only way it seems I will be able to get a new one is to get a whole new phone. So, if you are buying this as a music playing phone for goodness sakes don't lose that adaptor! This has been so frustrating that I will probably be replacing my phone soon.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps it is just the age of the phone that has been killing the reception, but while I was pleased with the phone for about the first year, it seems like its battery is getting less and less talk time on it as time goes and my ears are still hurting from using the mini-usb headphones that come with it because they can't sell the adaptor piece anywhere.

If you are the type of person who replaces your cellphone every 1 to 2 years go for it. If you prefer to keep phones for the long haul, you may want to look at something else.

Pros: This is a good phone, solid construction and survived water submersion and a high fall already... 1 GB microSD card is nice. Intuitive interface, great looking and good reception. One of the few non-flip phones available now.

Cons: iTunes is default player - not really a con if you like iTunes. Interface a little laggy, but that can be improved with modding.

Other Thoughts: I can't stan iTunes, but it was easy to find and install motorola's digital audio player (just google 'DAP'). This phone has a HUGE community behind it and there are all sorts of mods available.
