Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered "tampered with" or "defective".

1 out of 5 eggsKeeps Rebooting

Pros: Physical Keyboard

Cons: Keeps rebooting every 10 minutes or so, some say it is a design issue but I think its a software issue. Have sent it back.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it at any price...

Pros: Has a keyboard, if you like that feature.
Pretty good camera with flash.
MicroSD slot

Cons: Terribly slow. I am talking REALLY sluggish, slow and frustrating to use.
Battery life is pretty poor.

Other Thoughts: There are so many better cell phone choices right now, that I couldn't recommend this at any price.

1 out of 5 eggsugh why Newegg?

Pros: Has a nice design..

Cons: Where to begin? I owned this phone for about a year... It's only at android 2.1 for starters. (Never was updated beyond...)
Battery life gets quickly diminished to 5 hours or less. (Mine was 3 1/2)
Very laggy/ slow over all.
I'm surprised Newegg sells this. Don't buy it. Not worth $124, hell it isn't even worth $5. It'll give you too much frustration and grief to deal with you'll HATE it. I can't wait until I shoot mine.

Other Thoughts: Again, this horrid phone runs 2.1.
Good luck running any nice apps, they all now require 2.2.
I had to buy the USB wrist charger from ThinkGeek to compensate the battery life incase it ever died on me.
Got the Galaxy S 2 and i can use it for 16 hours before it dies... That's 14 more hours than the BackFlip. Not to mention it's not incredibly buggy.

1 out of 5 eggsA terrible little phone

Pros: None

Cons: This thing is ancient. It's horribly slow, doesn't have enough memory, and doesn't run the latest versions of Android. I've wanted to throw mine against a brick wall on more than one occasion.

Other Thoughts: I got a Backflip as my first introduction to Android phones and boy was it a dud. This is now a very old phone, originally released in early 2010. Even at that time it was behind the curve. It can be upgraded to Android 2.3 (gingerbread) via the Cyanogenmod ROMs, but that's the end of the line. This little guy doesn't have the CPU or RAM to go any further. This phone swore me off Motorola phones and nearly off Android altogether.

3 out of 5 eggsNot UNLOCKED!

Pros: Works great on AT&T 3G, came already upgraded to Android 2.1.

Cons: Had to take it to an AT&T store to get it working. This phone is indeed LOCKED TO AT&T! SHAME ON NEWEGG FOR FALSE ADVERTISING!!

Other Thoughts: I use AT&T so it was no big deal for me, however it may be for others...

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Camera takes surprisingly good pics in adequate light.

OK support in the modder community, official Cyanogenmod 7 port will give you Gingerbread 2.3 once you root it and get past the bootloader.

Good keyboard and unique form factor.

LED flash makes a great flashlight that will almost hurt you if you look right at it.

Solidly built frame with Gorilla Glass screen.

Pretty good speakers for a phone and has dual noise-cancelling mics, so voice quality is good.

Cons: Official 2.1 update lacks multitouch, so no pinch-to-zoom and goodies like that.

Slow CPU and limited RAM.

Battery life isn't that great, you MIGHT make it through a work day with 3G and data on, no way you'll make it with WIFI, GPS or Bluetooth enabled. You might get a full day or two if you force it to use 2G. I carry a spare battery.

Gaming is slow and limited, for example it will run Fruit Ninja OK but Angry Birds is too laggy to play.

NO flash support, even when hacked to 2.3

Other Thoughts: This was the very first Android phone on AT&T and I believe it was intentionally crippled in the CPU and RAM departments as to not show up the then exclusive to AT&T iPhone models. Running Cyanogenmod 7 on it is kind of like installing XP on a Win98 machine, it works well enough but you'll notice some lag on occasion.

It's still more functional than a feature phone and is an Android smartphone.

4 out of 5 eggsA Good Little Phone

Pros: I prefer a qwerty keyboard and this one is perfect. I've had three of these in the family and the performance of all three has been acceptable.

Cons: Replacing the back cover when servicing the battery or SIM can be tricky as it is thin metal and the prongs can become damaged if you're not careful.

Other Thoughts: Good little phone especially for $100 unlocked.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Android OS
-I like the keyboard
-All the amenities of a smart phone...wifi, email, headphone jack, camera...
-microSD slot
-message indicator light

Cons: -Rather slow
-Takes a long time for camera to pop up
-Have issues hearing people on skype(assuming its a speed issue).
-navigation can sometimes hang for a couple seconds.
-Only goes up to Adroid 2.1
-Every once in a while it will randomly restart(like once a month).I think its wifi related, and probably just unique to me.

Other Thoughts: Unplug the charger from the phone first, not the wall. If you unplug it from the wall, It will cause the battery to discharge super fast(gets rather hot also).

If it wasn't so slow, it would be an awesome phone.

2 out of 5 eggsPaper weight

Pros: All the pros apply to the android operating system.
• Great aps. Like the intuitive interface, alarms, GPS, contact list and features are all great.
• Kind of like the Motorola Blur software too. Nice to have calls, texts, and facebook updates all come in to one place and associated to the correct contact.
• The half-open alarm clock mode is a nice feature when the phone is charging.

Cons: I have had almost nothing but trouble with this phone.
• The battery life is extremely short and random. Several days I have unplugged it in the morning and it was dead before I left work to go home.
• It’s extremely underpowered. The operating system is great but it’s like running Windows7 on a ten-year-old computer with 256MB of RAM.
• The processor hangs up constantly. Sometimes it’s so bad that I can’t even answer calls because the slide-to-answer function won’t respond.
• Memory is constantly filling up despite trying several ‘Task Killer’ aps. It randomly starts programs in the background until there’s no memory left free. Plus you can’t “push” or install any programs onto the external memory card.
• I upgraded the operating system to the latest version and all it did was make things “prettier.”

Other Thoughts: I absolutely would not recommend this phone to anyone. Spend the extra money and get something with more processing power and memory like an HTC or a Samsung. I’m actually going back to using my old Blackjack II for a while. I will gladly deal with reloading the Blackjack’s operating system every six months or so to keep it going versus never knowing if I’m going to be able to answer a call or when the battery might give out.
