1 out of 5 eggsBad screen - don't buy

Pros: I did not see anything to be listed as a pro.

Cons: I bought this phone on 6/30/2011. Within a month or so of use I started noticing problems with the screen sensitivity. I don't use the device a lot, mostly for phone calls, radio and music, so it could have started earlier than that or even was delivered with issues. I was already a little apprehensive when I got this phone from Newegg since I was not sure of its origin.

After some time the problem got worst to a point of not be able to take calls or making calls when I needed because the screen just did not respond or responded with erratic events. A lot of times is makes the wrong call when I use the history list (normally the last number in the list). I had an emergency situation where the phone just would not cooperate and that really aggravated me.

Today, most of the time, it just does not work. Sometimes it gets better when I remove the battery (only way I can turn it off).

There are innumerous cases of screen problems on the mobile phone forums for this phone.

Other Thoughts: I got an iPad from Newegg but it was a pretty hard decision because of what happened with this phone. I have been a Newegg costumer for a long time. I hope I don't come to regret the iPad investment.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Work fast, long lasting battery, good for the price($179.99).

Cons: Get frizz while typing, slow hanging a call.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend a guy buying this cell phone, too small for them to do anything, it's more a girl phone.

Pros: Great phone for the price

Cons: Not upgradeable yet to Android 2.2
Battery life, if you charge it everyday not a problem

Other Thoughts: Thanks NewEgg

4 out of 5 eggsnice phone

Pros: not a bad phone overall, for the price and the features you get.. i think its great..voice clarity is good, text is ok, but if you have pudgie fingers, can be irritating sometimes... nice amounts of apps and games to download, wifi works great...

Cons: touch screen can be non responsive sometimes...besides that everything works well

1 out of 5 eggsNot that great

Pros: small, light, droid, replaceable batter

Cons: slow as the motorola backflip; HTC aria is much faster than the 2, sony ericsson rma process

Other Thoughts: touchscreen stopped working, in RMA for 60 days; Sony Ericsson said it was grey market product and will take a long time to repair/replace because of that reason. That's my last Sony Product, their stuff never lasts

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: • Android 2.1
• Price
• Unlocked
• Responsive

Cons: • Not upgradeable yet to Android 2.2; may never be.
• Plastic-y
• No AWS 3G, i.e. T-Mobile.

Other Thoughts: The Sony UI overlay isn't bad. Unlike the other ones from HTC and Motorola, it's more elegant than the default.
But, if you don't like it, you are stuck with it.

1 out of 5 eggsWasted my money

Pros: The Android OS and the android market. I've founds dozens of useful apps that run at the speed of smell on this thing.

Good music player (But not for $229!)

Cons: 1. The form factor - I'm a man with average size hands and typing on this unit is a JOKE. I've installed swipe and it still takes time to type a short email reply or text. I'm coming from a Nokia E71 and that device was 10X easier to work on.

2. SLOW - Once I upgraded to Android 2.1 the phone now crawls. Some times it takes 4, 5, 6 pushes of an icon to get this device to respond. This is NOT downloads over ATT 3Gee, this is trying to get the phone to load an app or change from one app to another or make a call.

3. Battery life. I've read other reviews where they say they get 2-3 day on a charge. Is your phone in Airplane mode? I've had times of normal use, no blue tooth or WiFi and i get 4-5 hours before it requires a charge. And yes i've installed the free advanced app killer and use it!

4. Didn't come with a car charger (see 3.)

5. The bloat ware that comes from Sony. I DO NOT want TimeScape on my phone that organizes all the social distractions in one annoying w

Other Thoughts: I ran out of space in the cons so i'll continue here....

Well you get the point.

In short if you are a tween this is the phone for you, if you are someone who needs a phone to do work on please don't waste your hard earned coin on this product!

4 out of 5 eggsFor the buck, you get it owned!

Pros: -Better than the x10 mini. It has bigger screen that makes typing much easier than the x10 mini one.
-The resolution is awesome, it is the same resolution as the ipod touch 2G I own, and on a 3-inch screen, the graphic looks better than an old iPod touch.
-Now upgradeable to Android 2.1. You can add live wallpaper and bluetooth now.
-Good battery life, its battery capacity is almost 1/3 more than x10 mini. Under daily uses, wifi-1hour, call-20 minutes, texting.. you are guaranteed for 2 days.
-fancy outlook, it's all we are looking for after all, right?

Cons: -Ringtone volume and shake is hardly perceivable in loud circumstances. I guess the Japanese products are more "polite" for public. (e.g. No calling in trains)
-Good camera but no flash. Even the little x10 mini has an "okay" flash. But this x8 doesn't.
-Poor gaming experiences. I played fruit ninja and it lagged like hell, incomparable to the iPhone one.
- AT&T 3G only, be careful if you want to use T-mobile 3G network something, it won't work!

**-Calling cannot be ended with physical button. It is annoying and sometimes embarrassing when you say "bye" and hang up in 5 seconds.

Other Thoughts: Good for people who want to find out what an Android phone looks like. The cons can be negligible if you really really want a phone that looks good.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: For $190, it's one of the best GSM unlocked smartphones out there. Period!

Came with Android 1.6. Updated it to 2.1 (used PC Companion from Sony's site) and took about 10 minutes to do it.

Installed all the necessary apps from the Market, like LauncherPro (definitely recommend it as I didn't like SE's home screen with only four widgets on the home screen and one widget per screen), Astro File Manager, Quick Settings (this is my favorite - easily turn on/off the necessary services), Advanced Task Killer, Opera, etc.

Resolution is 320 x 480 pixels (HVGA) and 3" capacitive touchscreen is very responsive.

Battery lasts about 3+ days of minimal use. Not bad for a smartphone.

It looks great and can easily sit in a pocket. Also, it comes with two additional back covers to add to the mood of the day/week ;)

Overall, highly satisfied.

Cons: The casing is plastic and don't know how durable it is but for now, I don't see any problems.

Other Thoughts: It took three days to get it during the peak Christmas season and newegg is very fast! I really love their service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat phone, poor battery life

Pros: Android 2.1 uprade is a well documented wizard driven process from Sony-Ericsson.
Phone runs very smoothly and perfromance is very good with only occasional hiccups.
Small and compact design
USB charging/sync - micro USB plug
Screen is very readable and usable
Touchscreen is very sensitive and works very well.
Voice recognition is a little slow but translates very well
Market place is available and works well; easy to install
16GB expandable through micro-SD
Compass, GPS, 3.15 MP camera with 640x480 video (30fps), replacable battery, accelerometer, 3.5G, Quad-Band
Much better battery life if you leave cell service on and turn wifi off through one click on settings widget. Reactivate manually when needed.

Cons: Battery barely lasts a day; with wifi on. More like about 14-20 hours with Wifi
Can pause from time to time, but recovers and is smooth afterwards.
Screen is only 480x320; not terrible but not the 850+x480 of other smartphones.
Only 3" screen, so resolution is condensed but still readable on web pages once zoomed.
Interface can be somewhat customized, but it's also somewhat limited.
No multi-touch, but double touch zoom compensates somewhat in most apps.
So small, it can almost slip out of your hand in one hand operation.
Portrait orientation for default desktop only. Most apps will landscape though. This is an Android issue.
Did I mention the battery running down quckily?
Some applications will just not run some times.
Only 600Mhz processor, but does the job.
Market place selections can be truncated by moible plan black list. Work around: enter "airplane mode" to disable SIM temporarily and use wifi to access market place.
Voice dialing not standard; only Android 2.2

Other Thoughts: All around a good/great phone. I wanted a tablet that would be a phone (one device). However, I dreaded carrying around a 7" thing that could be both (Viewpad 70). This is the compromise and works very well (and much cheaper!) other than battery life. A little more system memory would make the OS smooth out a little during the rare pause. This does the job.

The "application will not run" issue I believe is related to out of memory problems. I tried logging into skype and it seemed to be doing it and then never did anything; screen stayed at login panel. Tried multiple times and same result. Then I shut down some other applications and retried, and it worked fine. Same for a HotMail application. Some warning would have been nice, but there was nothing. As long as you are aware of the problem and can shutdown manually what apps you do not need, it can work fine. Kind of a pain, but have to expect some limitations for a handheld PC.

I've heard that bright daylight viewing is bad
