5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Phone

Pros: -Unlocked and running on a standard (dumbphone) data plan on the compatible US 3G carrier listed below.
-Small size
-Great camera
-Smooth performance
-Clean design
-Good battery life
-Gorgeous screen

Cons: -Small size can occasionally lead to typos
-Camera flash is on/off toggled, not a brief flash when you take a picture
-Speakerphone can be weak in some scenarios

Other Thoughts: For those who were worried that this phone would be charged for a smartphone data plan, I can attest that this phone was not charged on the US 3G compatible network listed in the details. I have been enjoying it on an existing data plan for a feature phone, and have even noticed faster than 3G connections most of the time. That being said, your mileage may vary.

I typically get a full days use out of this phone easily, up to two days if I turn down the screen brightness.
The camera was easily a point-and-shoot replacement during a business trip I was on, and really does pick up a lot of light in low-light situations.
The screen is truly amazing, and in my opinion, the pixel density more than makes up for any size issues some may have. On size, I find it to be comfortable and very pocketable, a huge advantage over 4.5" monsters. Maybe I'm old school, but I prefer phones to be comfortable to use as phones, and size is very important when talking on one. Overall, a simply fantastic p

5 out of 5 eggsIce Cream Sandwich for Xperia ray upgrade

Pros: The software upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Xperia ray is available starting today, April 25, 2012 via Sony PC Companion.

Cons: I think, Gingerbread’s pattern screen lock dots looked better…

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Phone!!

Pros: Great size! Great features! Google voice recognition is great!! (and you don't need a iPhone 4s) Navigation is awesome. Swipe keyboard is excellent. (BTW, I'm a dude w/ big hands & don't have any issues) I was worried the phone would be too small, however, it is just perfect.

All you snotty iPhone users can kiss my apple!

Cons: Took a little time to get the APN settings right for ATT. (Hint, go to an ATT store and look at the settings on the other phones)

Voice recognition doesn't appear in non-google apps. Hope this gets fixed in ICS.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I was wanting!

Pros: Size! I had bought the Neo for my wife, I wanted something for myself that was more pocket friendly. I really like NOT having a hard button for back and menu like her Neo does. You use them so much in Android it's nice to have the light tap function.

Also has a wrist strap attachment point. BIG plus that Sony includes this.

Cons: None yet. Phone has worked flawlessly.

Other Thoughts: Working on AT&T with non-Smartphone data plan just fine. Hotspot and tether work too.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Small Phone

Pros: Any benefit you can expect from an Android based phone. Being able to use unlimited "non-smartphone" data plan on a major US carrier ;) Tethering (without paying extra for a separate tethering plan ;) Google Maps (including turn-by-turn directions), Google Earth, Video Skype conversations (was a big one for me) even on 3G, Clear screen, Great pictures and videos, Excellent Facebook integration,...

Cons: The phone is tiny - but that might be an advantage and selling point (was for me) - typing won't be easy if you have big hands ;) You need to tweak the settings to reduce the battery discharge significantly - all the tools are there in the settings :) - otherwise, it will drink the battery juice in no time :)) all the tricks are explained on blogs on the Internet and official forums ( Build quality is no where close to Nokia E71

Other Thoughts: I found it as a very good upgrade for my aging Nokia E71 - and I did not want to commit to an now defunct OS on E6 - and poor Nokia support in US - I am hoping that Sony will do better (they already committed to a Ice Cream update on Xperia Ray as part of their entire 2011 Xperia line).

5 out of 5 eggsRE: Using on AT&T and Data Plan?

Pros: Updating original post.

Cons: Updating original post.

Other Thoughts: I went with the Xperia neo instead. But it works fine on my Feature Phone Unlimited Data Plan w/ AT&T.

My guess as to why the Nokia was discovered is that AT&T carried the E71 (same phone I think as the E72). So they got all the IMEI numbers.

Tethering/hotspot also works. Seeing 3-4Mbps on on USB tethered laptop when in HSPA+ w/ backhaul update coverage area.

5 out of 5 eggsResponse to "will they catch me"

Pros: None

Cons: The minute you turn your phone on, you will be greeted with free AT&T message letting you know that they have changed your data plan from "unlimited data for feature phone" to "2.0 GB smartphone compatible data plan" for you. How do i know this? Because i have had Nokia E72 with unlimited data for feature phones (15/month; and i do not know why AT&T is referring to E72 as a feature phone when it has HSDPA 10.2 Mbps for UP; HSUPA 2 Mbps for DOWN cellular radio; they scanned the bar-code of the phone and the IMEI and they said that E72 qualifies for unlimited 15/month data plan), and i bought AT&T's Lg Thrive GoPhone. So, as soon as i've started using the phone (not more then 5min.) my data plan has changed. Do not doubt AT&T ability to sweep their network; they are protecting their revenue streams well ...

Other Thoughts: I was pretty upset with Nokia E72 inability to do mail for exchange sync with google accounts (cal, cont, mail). There were workarounds, but i did not like them. I did not want to sign up a new contract with AT&T until i was able to figure out if what i was looking for was possible. So, i bought this "inexpensive" GoPhone type of smart phone to give it a try, and i can sync my private calendar and my work calendars as well ...

5 out of 5 eggsUsing on AT&T and Data Plan?

Pros: Camera

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: What have you found as far as AT&T's ability to enforce a 'SmartPhone' data plan on you with this phone?

My current AT&T SIM has a non-SmartPhone data unlimited plan ($14/mo) on it. Will they hunt me down with this and force me into a higher priced plan?

No rumors please ... only factual experience requested.
