Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered "tampered with" or "defective".

1 out of 5 eggsWORST PHONE MY POOR SWEET HUSBAND EVER HAD!!!!!! (17REPLACED IN 8MONTHS)

Pros: IT WAS HIS VERY FIRST BLACKBERRY, EXPENSIVE PHONE,& VERIZON CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND DURING HIS 8MONTH BB STORM2 OWNERSHIP, HE RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE LOOK OF THE PHONE&WAS ABLE TO ENJOY USING IT FOR ALMOST 2WKS B4 GETTING HIS FIRST OF17 REPLACEMENTS, AND HE WAS ABLE TO GAIN VERY NICE INTERACTIONS WITH VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Cons: HE HAD 17 REPLACED B4 THEY WERE ALLOWED TO UPGRADE HIM FOR FREE B4 HIS ELIGIBLE FREE UPGRADE TIME AND IT WAS AT THAT same time that the storm2 was cancelled!!

4 out of 5 eggsOut of date, but I still love it and won't upgrade

Pros: Looks cool. Verizon version is unlockable so you can take it international or switch to T-Mobile or AT&T (but they stink, so forget that). SurePress screen is perfect for someone such as myself who has had a hard time adapting to touch-screen technology. 3G signal is typically outstanding in NYC area where I live. Phone is reliable. I have dropped it (in an Otterbox case) dozens of time and it has yet to have any damage.

Cons: Old and no 4G. Out of date OS software. SurePress screen slowly grows stiff. Not a lot of aps. No longer manufactured.

Other Thoughts: My Storm2 is now 28 months old. It has taken a beating and keep on ticking. The SurePress screen has slowly grown a bit stiffer, but I just play with the adjustments to get it back to the way i want. Sometimes a hard reboot also helps. I have Verizon and did switch to T-Mobile when my contract ended, but they only give you EDGE on this phone so the slow speed and T-Mobile's lack of coverage just pushed me tight back to Verizon. I don't play games on my phone and the only web based stuff I do is checking my auctions if I am bored while waiting for the subway, so I see no reason to upgrade. WiFi and Bluetooth work a-okay here. Storm2 connects with ease to my TomTom.

1 out of 5 eggsBlackBerry Storm & Storm2 Owner

Pros: If you are purchasing this phone today, none.

Cons: Dated hardware results in the following:
Max OS version is BlackBerry OS 5; no OS 6 or 7 ever.
Memory for applications is limited so few can be installed.
Click of screen deteriorates through life and becomes stiff.

Other Thoughts: I owned a BlackBerry Curve then Storm then Storm2 and have gone through three Storm2's. This device should not be sold to anyone anymore as it is dated and will not run OS 6 or OS 7 and don't even think for a second of it running BBX that was recently announced.

The Storm was thought up by RIM to compete with the iPhone. They should not ever even be referenced because they truly do not match up at all.

DO NOT BUY!

Still running my Storm2 and have an upgrade in November. I was hoping some better news of the QNX (BBX) phone would be available, but it isn't. Probably going to look into Android or Windows Phone as iOS just isn't for me.

5 out of 5 eggsBlackBerry phones

Pros: Blackberry phones have been around for years. I am a original owner of the BB Bricks from the late 90s. They have always been reliable for me. The storm is a good touchscreen phone. Yet another step in the right direction for Blackberry phones.

Cons: If you have large hands, then most touchscreen phones will be difficult to use. I have tried many touch screen phones, unless i have a stylus, it is useless.

Other Thoughts: I read a few reviewers comparing a BB to a Iphone. These are 2 totally different phones. There are pros/cons for both phones. I have a BB Style and i have no issue with the wifi standalone. The only issue i have with Apple is having to convert to Apple apps for music, videos, etc. You can not blame the phone if your Carrier has terrible service. I have been a customer of all the Carriers out there and my preference is SPRINT.

1 out of 5 eggswhenever possible do not pay for shipment

Pros: Use the free shipment option it is faster and 100% better than the paid one. (Hoping that I was going to get it faster, I paid for the fastest shipment method, and still 8 days ago my package has not arrived)

Cons: brown company and NewEgg do not work well together, instead use the free shipment method whenever is possible

Other Thoughts: NewEgg customer service do not have a clue why the package is taking so long. useless....

2 out of 5 eggsTouch screen is not so impressive

Pros: It look and feel is better than its successor blackberries.

Cons: Touch screen is not so impressive, no doubt that it is loosing market share to apple, even though I am a long term blackberry user (past 6 years). I did whatever I can to get my Wi-Fi but no luck ( I have no data plan with my ATT service), apple phone can be used with wi-fi if you do not have service but this one is no use.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully RIMM blackberry will open up the the Wi-Fi functionlaity like iphone before it is too late.

Headset does not come with this item (even though new egg says it is a brand new item). blackberry box looks fake too (Order #54656520 ). think twice before you buy from newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsStorm2 a real headache

Pros: attractive appearance, large screen, available accessories

Cons: after the first month or so, the touchpad becomes unresponsive or jumps to another area without being prompted - unreliable touchpad caused several missed calls; part of the touchpad is now unresponsive and Verizon refuses to send the phojne in for warranty replacement due to a minor crack in the case, blaming it on Blackberry as they would charge me for a new phone. I have had to pull the cover, remove the battery and do a hard reset multiple times daily and every time I move from one point to another during the day. I am on my second cover because the hard case I originally bought fell apart because of my having to reset this unreliable phone so often. At this point after receiving the runaround from both Verizon and Blackberry, I can't wait for my upgrade in October when I will gladly switch to the iPhone

Other Thoughts: Lesson learned - always buy the phone insurance because without it, the manufacturer warranties and service provider promises are about as reliable as a politicians!

2 out of 5 eggsBB Storm 9550

Pros: I like the way keyboard works... it's like typing on a real keyboard so I can type really fast without checking my spelling.

Cons: It shows EDGE instead of 3G on AT&T so it gets really slow or no connection sometimes. That's really annoying if you try to use it without WiFi. I got this in April, and the keyboard is getting weak after 5 months and it's not like when I just got it. It's really hard to press.

Other Thoughts: I actually like this phone even though I am using Torch now. If RIM can design a better keyboard that lasts long enough then I'd definitely buy Storm 3 (if there is one).

4 out of 5 eggsBlackberry Storm 2

Pros: As far I can tell it was a good deal and looks nice and transferred my data easy from my 8310. Also came with 16gb card.

Cons: I had to figure out how to remove the Activation Required even thou the phone worked with my ATT sim card after I set up the network. I did a google search found the answer worked first time. Also I am clumsy with the keyboard but hoping I get the hang of keyboard soon.
