Please read the product description carefully for all unlocked cell phones.

Some unlocked cell phones sold by Newegg may have previously been locked to a specific carrier. A carrier-locked cell phone may often have carrier-specific applications and branding. Some of these applications cannot be unlocked and/or may not function with a different carrier. Also, applications requiring a data plan may result in data usage charges from the original carrier.

In addition, the cell phone box may arrive unsealed and the cell phone may appear previously handled. The unlocking procedure requires unsealing the box and manually handling the cell phone. In this case, the cell phone should not be considered “tampered with” or “defective”.

5 out of 5 eggsWill hold me out until QNX phones

Pros: Great build quality
Autofocus Camera
Scratch resistant glass screen
Purchased apps from my 9300 work on this device (that don't work on OS7)

Cons: Well, price, for a last gen blackberry is a bit high. I could have gotten one used for $200 or less but that's just gross...

Other Thoughts: Actually considered this phone an upgrade from my 9900 Bold. I was having issues with that phone - touch screen responsiveness, hanging constantly, connectivity issues. On top of it all I found that OS7 devices were far behind in quality compared to OS6 phones. I've had 2 curve 9360s and 2 Bold 9900s cross my path and all had build quality issues.

I got this phone on a hunch based on experiences with nearly all OS6 devices and i was pretty much right on.

Build quality is superlative, the device is super snappy (even compared to the 9900 with 2x the mhz)

Most importantly though, all the apps I purchased for my old curve 9300 are compatible with this device. I know that compatability will end with QNX but at least I get to use my favorite apps a while longer (and at least I get a chance to finish Cyberlords!)

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Smart Phone

Pros: The touch screen and hardware keyboard make it so fast to navigate. The universal search function is great when trying to find an email, memo, contact, calendar item, mp3, video, website, etc. Tons of great free apps from App World if you're frugal like me; however, I've bought a few that I couldn't do without. Of course, being a BlackBerry all your email, facebook, myspace, BBM, sms and all the other social apps show up in your inbox! Awesome keyboard and the touch screen keyboard works great, too. Does multimedia very well and the browser is great. I could go on forever! :-D Plus, it makes me feel cool and professional and not a teenager with one of those other types of phones... BTW, to all those people who complained about the lack of languages, that's a limitation of the carrier code. Other carriers support different languages and there are tricks to install other carriers code onto an ATT branded device so you can have multi-languages.

Cons: The touchy top keys for locking and muting; however, that's minor stuff. I can't think of any other things that bother me.

Other Thoughts: Get one and you'll be happy!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat phone

Pros: Phone is awesome i love it. the guy who is bashing it on the below review has to be a complete idiot. keyboard is easy to slid out and use. If your dropping it alot your probably just clumsy or had fat hands. the homescreen rotation is intuitive and a monkey could use it. English and Spanish are the only languages available but I dont text in french so its ok

Cons: Not really any but the mute and lock key are easy to hit on accident.

2 out of 5 eggsgood phone, but watch out

Pros: Nice slider phone.
Its a Blackberry.
Newegg gave a free accessory.

Cons: Does not look brand new.
Had cosmetic blemishes.
Probably a jailbroken AT&T phone.
Repackaged cables.

Other Thoughts: I opened the box to find that it is an AT&T branded phone which has been unlocked by someone. It also had cosmetic blemishes and the items in the box seem to have been repackaged. Did not expect this from Newegg.

Based on the product details page, I got the impression this was an unlocked, new and unopened phone. But was disappointed to find that its probably just a jailbroken AT&T phone.

I had bought this unlocked phone to keep connected on international trips. I cannot return it now as I have to take it with me on a trip. Just hope it works on other networks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat device especially for BlackBerry lovers

Pros: Leaps and bounds beyond other BlackBerry devices I have used.
Physical keyboard is amazing to use (although to note slightly smaller than the 9700 keyboard) AppWorld has 99% of the apps that android/ios have but you may not have 15 versions of the same app. Web Kit browser is wonderful and looks great on the screen. Video also looks great when played on device from youtube/locally stored videos.
To the previous commenter, I'm not sure what the issue with screen rotation is - it turns the way you are viewing the device... seems logical enough to me :)

BBM is still addicting as ever.

Cons: As the previous commenter pointed out the top lock button is easy to hit - although a minor hindrence.

Other Thoughts: Camera performance is great both outside and in well lit areas. Although the camera does have a flash, unless you have a steady hand you may be disappointed with the picture results.

For users of Bold 9700/9780 - the processor is the same between these devices so don't expect a faster response. Although plenty fast for me. 9700 does have smaller memory however and currently 5.0 OS which is not nearly as good.

2 out of 5 eggsMedia Hype

Pros: Touchpad is really responsive, and volume is adequate.
Got this 9800 free with just 15 dollar/mo data plan, 2 years locked with att.

Cons: There's no setting anywhere to enable/disable screen rotation. I have to pay for an APP to do that, why blackbery?, and there's a difference in rotation at homescreen and rotation on all programs, programs such as youtube or web browser, you just can't turn it off. On screen keyboard took over half the screen, if not that, the slide out keyboard is so hard to push out, as its designed to trip your hand and get dropped easily. The lock-out button located at upper left corner, it's way too easy to be trigger by mistake, and gets unlocked easily too. Blackberry OS supports only English, very propitiatory compare to any droid phones which can show all language characters sets. System setting, everything is designed locked, its not versatile to change or adapt to user preferences.

Other Thoughts: 15 x 24 = 360, and 650 @ newegg ?
price is one thing, usability is another

3 weeks of use, I find this phone terrible to use. Switched to Xperia, it worked perfectly.
