4 out of 5 eggsBad Documentation update

Pros: After using the phone for a while and figuring out what it can do mostly through trial and error it seems to have a lot of features and looks to be a good buy.

Cons: Better and more detailed documentation would make the adjustment period a lot shorter, especially for someone who has little experience with a smart phone.

1 out of 5 eggsBad documentation

Pros: Phone works

Cons: Documentation is worthless.

Other Thoughts: May be a good phone but without documentation that explains the features and how they work it is useless. Will try to get $5.00 for it at a yard sale.

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: I finally got a 32gb micro sd card that was compatible. It is the SAMSUNG Plus 32GB Micro SDHC Class 10 Flash Card Model MB-MPBGC/AM.

And now i have this phone rooted with Kingo Android Root 1.0.8, which solved the memory issues, among other things.

Cons: it still is slow, livable, but there are faster phones out there, but not at this price.

Other Thoughts: you can get kingo from majorgeeks or google it.

4 out of 5 eggsBlu Dash 3.5

Pros: For an unlocked, inexpensive smartphone, it is very impressive, with the ability to download FREE apps from the Google play store app. Setup was a breeze, popped in a SIM card from Puretalk and a 8gb sd micro card and setup was a breeze. Got this for my 10 yr old daughter who wanted an iPhone like dads, Not doing it, she's only 10. Phone will be used for calling mom and dad and friends and for the ever popular texting of friends. Has wi fi, so she can connect at home and at places with wifi without bugging me or mom for one our phones.

Cons: For the price of the phone and it's features, no CONS as of yet. Will post another review after a month of use.

Other Thoughts: For a first smartphone that is wi fi capable and loaded with useful features. The BLU Dash 3.5 is the way to go

3 out of 5 eggsPractical

Pros: 2 Sims
Compatible with T-Mobile
Decent battery life

Cons: Low memory... (but comes with basic apps)

Other Thoughts: Don't expect the features of a 'super' smartphone... this is a cheap smart phone that just gets the job done.

3 out of 5 eggsquirky

Pros: cheap. easy to use w/ prepaid service (e.g. t-mobile in the USA).

the FM radio can really pump!

the phone comes with two extra back plates in bright colors that you can swap out if you don't just want to do basic black. they seem a little frivolous but they're kind of cool.

Cons: the voice quality during phone calls varies from second to second. i have never experienced a phone that does that. its not just a matter of reception. it seems like the volume increases and decreases from second to second.

of the dozen or so mobile phones that i've worked with over the years this is by far the quirkiest. as an example, compared to other android phones, this one's default behavior for texting multiple recipients seems to remain tied to the group when one recipient texts you back and wants to engage in one on one text exchange. other android phones, indeed other mobile phones regardless of the operating system, always switch to one on one communication when one recipient of a multi-recipient texts you back.

while the FM radio is capable of playing very loudly over headphones, the lowest audible setting is still way too loud. you have to use it in conjunction with headphones w/ built in adjustable volume in order to get the volume to a decent level that isn't too high. also, the FM radio reception somehow seems more "statickie" than the same feature on other phones that i have had. i wonder if its related to the degree of volume amplification that's built in.

Other Thoughts: i would gladly trade the extra colored back plates for the perception that more time was spent user-testing the phone before taking it to production. the phone is neat for all the functionality built into such a cheap device but it almost isn't a phone when you don't want to use it for a conversation because of the constant volume wavering.

the phone is flashier than i was expecting. that could be either a pro or a con depending on your point of view so i moved this comment from Pros to Other thoughts. i like the way the phone looks so its a pro in my book.

Pros: this is an entry level smartphone...has most of what you want. modest camera...fine for emergencies. Very intuitive setup. Apps work well. Radio is excellent. Sound quality is very good. Screen size is acceptable

Cons: if you buy it for the right reasons NONE. you can always get their $200 smartphone later

Other Thoughts: I can not comment on long term reliability

3 out of 5 eggsnot sure yet

Pros: N wifi, 3.5 inch, 32gb MSD(so they say)

Cons: i have tried 3 different 32gb MSD cards, and phone always says they are damaged, although they work fine on the PC. all capacities below 32gb work fine.

Other Thoughts: more research, then update the review
