1 out of 5 eggsDied One Port At A Time

Pros: 5 ports, potential 2A charge rate on each port

Cons: dead

Other Thoughts: Bought a 25W and a 40W and both suffered the same fate. One by one, each port went dead. I currently have one port working, so my 5-port charger is no more functional than a wall wart. I braved the handful of reviews on this product that said that the same thing happened to them. I even bought a pair of them for my brother in law... but now I have $100 worth of paperweights.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat customer service

Pros: When the device works, its amazing, you can charge up to five devices with 2A so it is pretty fast. But, two of my outside ports stopped working suddenly, not sure if they was a short circuit or something else went wrong but it was odd that both of them stopped working at once.

However, their customer service is outstanding, and they sent an email without even the need for me to request it. I was quite pleased with their quick and prompt responses and with the replacement of the unit.

Cons: As mentioned, the two ports out of five stopped working after just over a month.

1 out of 5 eggsHonestly worthless

Pros: When functioning - you get ports that charge.
The company called immediate upon my negative review. +1 egg

Cons: Ports die off and eventually you are stuck with nice power cords and a brick. Also DOA's are common based on my research.

Other Thoughts: Their customer service representative saw my post on BIG NAMED site and called me immediately after product failure posting. Sent 2 replacements for the 2 dead products...

1 lasted 2-3 months, the other I just started using fresh from the box. I expect 2-3 months more... paid $20/each.

Good Customer Service call, but the Quality Assurance/ Testing needs to undergo review. I tried to like their product.

Buyer Beware, I enjoy products that work as stated.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking as advertiesed

Pros: Max 2.4A per port or 8A total. Uses a standard unpolarized C7 ("figure 8") power cord if you want to use something other than what is included. Accepts 100-240v, 50/60Hz input so this can go worldwide and be used with foreign power cords. Included power cord is (eyeballing it here...) about 6 feet long allowing you plenty of flexibility as to where you can set up. The cord also includes an attached Velcro strap for bundling slack or packing for transport. No LEDs to interfere with dark environments.

Cons: Can slide around on a smooth surface, if you intend to permanently have it set up in one way (say, accessible on a desktop) you might want to invest in a few little rubber feet to keep it better in place. While I listed "no LEDs" as a pro, at the same time it is a drawback that you don't get confirmation that the charger is energized. If Anker were to make any design changes my only one would be to add a "soft glow" LED somewhere inside that maybe could glow through the plastic or behind the ports.

Other Thoughts: I've got a USB voltage/amperage meter I've used to test with. I've seen my devices easily draw 1.5A through the Anker which is what the tested devices are spec'd to draw for fast charge. Am using with quality USB cables and when possible the originals from the devices. My list of gear I have charged with no problems on the Anker:
* Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD XT926M (stock Kitkat 4.4.2 ROM)
* Sero 7 Pro (DOPA Kitkat 4.4.4 ROM)
* 1st gen Kindle Fire (stock ROM and PAC-ROM Kitkat 4.4.4)
* Asus Transformer Boot T100 (Windows 8.1)
* Blackberry Torch
* iPhone 5C
* Garmin Forerunner 305
* Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip (Rockbox)

I'm pretty confident this would charge anything I threw at it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Charger

Pros: What can I say, I bought this one again after I bought one a month ago. I just love it, so I bought another one to replace all my other charges that come with the devices.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

Pros: Price, size, weight, product promise: 5 USB ports capable of charging 2.1a as well as 1a devices

Cons: Quality is severely lacking

Other Thoughts: I bought this for travel, figuring it could replace a few charging bricks needed for my ipad, iphone, and e-reader. Upon arrival, only 4 of the 5 ports worked. After a week, I was down to 3 and now, 3 months later, only 1 port is working and I'm back to carrying 3 wall charging cubes.

The product feels good in your hands, it has appropriate weight and visible construction quality but this won't be the only review you read that talks about dead and dying ports.

Do yourself a favor, try a different brand and model.

2 out of 5 eggslasted 6 mo

Pros: Charges anything rapidly.
I was really happy to reduce wall wort clutter.

Cons: Stopped working after 6 months

Other Thoughts: I bought this on the open box but still that shouldn't affect the quality.
Charged both house phones, Nook and friends devices that dropped by effortlessly. The whole thing just stopped working today and researching Anker site I find that they only warranty it if you bought it " Prime " which is not Premier. Same price as *prime* so that's where I will get the next one. Seems that all of these kind of devices have problems so it's a cr*p shoot. LOL cant say cr A p
I did email Anker support so I will update this if they respond affirmatively.

3 out of 5 eggsAnker 40w Desktop Charger - Defective

Pros: This is a nice charger, worked well when received. Nice build and packaging. Charged all my devices relatively quickly. Good support.

Cons: 4 out of 5 ports died within a few weeks. Seems they have a defect rate. Called Anker support and they offered to send a replacement unit. They indicated a new design where you can reset the ports by unplugging for 15m.

Other Thoughts: If anyone has any dead ports, you might want to try resetting by unplugging all cables for at least 15 minutes.

3 out of 5 eggsDoes not perform very well

Pros: Better build than its price (purchased at $20 thanks to Newegg's coupon).

Decent packaging.

Cons: Doesn't output enough power for iPhone 6 to maximize its potential.

Other Thoughts: With a kill-a-watt to measure power output, I plugged this 40W charger to it and got the following reading:

Nothing Plugged in: 3W,
Add Jabra Freeway headset: 7W (i.e. 4W increment),
Add iPad Air: 22W (i.e. 15W increment),
Add Garmin nuvi 755: 24W (i.e. 2W increment)
Add iPhone 6: 30W (i.e. 6W increment)

It is unfortunate. Because with an iPhone 6 plugged directly to a iPad Air charger, I could get 10W reading. In other word, this Anker charger does not charge iPhone 6 at maximum speed.
