About the size of a deck of playing cards (3.6 x 2.3 x 1.0in), place on your workstation, nightstand, or even the entryway desk - creating the perfect charging hub for your gear or the family's.Or, take it traveling; the unibody construction withstands bumping when stowed in your bag.

4 out of 5 eggsCharger Anker 5 port

This review is from: Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ Technology for smartphones, tablets and other USB-charged devices (White)

Pros: Powerful and small 5 item at a time 8 amps each.

Cons: Doesn't come with usb cables and Newegg doesn't sell them.Anker® Anker [5-Pack] Premium Micro USB Cables

Other Thoughts: You buy a high current charger and want the high current cables,
Amazing sells them though.

4 out of 5 eggsGood yet a dead port

This review is from: Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ Technology for smartphones, tablets and other USB-charged devices (White)

Pros: Charges well for all different products (11 different products: iPhone 4/5/5C/5S;,2x iPads, Nexus 7.2, Nokia 620, External batteries, and even rechargeable bicycle lights). No need to think of 'which port'. Compact and good-looking design. Long power cord.

Cons: Other reviews kind of prepared me for possible dead port(s) in the long run. Mine got a dead one after 6 weeks. It was kept in the wooden basket for the whole time... thus QC issue, maybe. My dead port is the bottom one (5th from the top where 'IQ' is written). Hopefully I'll have a replacement soon.

Other Thoughts: This product is near perfect... if whatever the common cause for dead ports is fixed,

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

This review is from: Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ Technology for smartphones, tablets and other USB-charged devices (White)

Pros: Looks good

Cons: fails to function properly

Other Thoughts: When attached to an iPad Air 2 it caused the iPad to malfunction. The touch screen did not operate correctly. Unplugging the unit returned the iPad to proper function. Anker was not interested in pursuing the matter. They referred me back to Newegg. I would not use this on my equipment for fear of damage.

2 out of 5 eggsGood/Bad

This review is from: Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ Technology for smartphones, tablets and other USB-charged devices (White)

Pros: I purchased this even after reading some of the reviews talking about
Ports going bad, and I was really happy with the device. I was able to charge my galaxy S3, HTC thunderbolt, iPad mini, sony PS4 gold BT headset, LG BT headset and an iPhone 5, my sons 2 tablets, a kindle fire, and Nook HD32, my 11,000 mH external battery, fitbit, and fitbit flex. I love the device soo much, I bought 2 more (3 total) and I want to buy a few more, but I am starting to think about looking into other options.

Cons: Now the bad. A week after my 2 new unit arrived, I plug in my S3 along with other devices and nothing happens. I check my connections, all a snug, I switch cables still nothing, I switch devices to one that does not require as much power and still nothing. Long story short, port #3 is no longer working. oddly enough that's the port that a lot of others say is their first port to go.

I've done my due diligence in trouble shooting, with my background (B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and 25+ years in networking field) I could probably figure out what's going on.

I'm not sure where to start to see about fixing this. I've turned many co-workers and family members on to this device, I'm hoping their devices don't start to fail, or I'm sure I'll never hear the end of it.

Other Thoughts: I'm a very loyal person when I find something I own and believe in, I'd love to see if there is a newer model that works the same or better, but am not sure if they have anything new.

If you're not a heavy user (ie stuff all 5 ports) this is still a great device. If you start to lose ports you still have others, but if you're like me, I have all the ports packed on multiple devices, losing ports, forces me to prioritize which device gets the active ports first.

3 out of 5 eggs30 days and starting to fail

This review is from: Anker 40W 5-Port Family-Sized Desktop USB Charger with PowerIQ Technology for smartphones, tablets and other USB-charged devices (White)

Pros: When it works...it's great. Plenty of power and no issues.

However, as of 1 month in....4 of the 5 ports work and the 5th port has failed entirely.

We'll see how anker handles a warranty claim. Their online form only has provisions for a refund or exchange if you bought it from a mega online competitor.

Cons: Apparently the failure is a matter of when ... not if.

Other Thoughts: I
