In 1969, when Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon's surface, wearing his Plantronics headset, the world was amazed to hear him speaking loud and clear across all those miles. With the Voyager 855 stereo Bluetooth headset, Plantronics continues it's history of innovation! This tiny headset weighs in at just over half an ounce, and lets you choose mono or stereo performance, thanks to a detachable stereo cable. The earpieces mold to the shape of your ear, and come in a variety of sizes.

The Voyager 855 features a sliding boom, which places the mic closer to your mouth for clearer pickup, and also serves as a switch to answer and end calls. While you're listening to your music, the headset will notify you of incoming calls, and when you answer a call, it automatically pauses the music, so you pick up where you left off when the call is over. Plantronics' AudioIQ technology gives crisp, clear sound on both ends of the conversation, and offers full, bright tone for music playback.

Other call management features include call mute, voice-dialing support, and call transfer, which lets you switch a call between the phone handset and the Voyager, at the touch of a button. Brilliant sound and smart features from such a sleek little unit: that's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this thing

Pros: It connects to almost anything bluetooth with no problem. I use it with my laptop for playing MMOs and ventrilo. I use it with my Bluetooth receiver and connect it to anything with a 3.5mm audio input.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Stereo headphone capability, size. Newegg (as always)

Cons: Sound quality, connection, support

Other Thoughts: I've been a die-hard Plantronics guy, but this product does not stand up to their typical quality. I've owned 5 Voyager 510's before this.
The main issue is the sound quality from both ends. It's great that it can be used as headphones, but with the poor quality, it's not worth listening to!
Connections are also a problem, it works intermittently and needs to be shut off at least once/day to "reset" itself.
I called Plantronics, and the guy said "The Voyager 510 is simply a better unit" - I asked him "Why would you sell this, and for more money?", he said "I don't know".

C'mon, Plantronics, you can do better than this!

5 out of 5 eggsgood headset

Pros: The headset connects to my phone and my laptop with relative ease. I use the headphones to work out in and they stay in my ears pretty good.

Cons: The volume could stand to be a bit louder. the right side headphone feels like it's going to fall out sometimes.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect set of features and quality!

Pros: The most useful two features to me are:
-A2DP streaming ability...perfect for listening to mono material like podcasts when using the second ear adapter isn't practical. Even streamed music via apps like Pandora are good in one ear, and even better in both.
-The push and pull boom to answer and end calls

Cons: -No clear way of knowing when the unit is powered up or down, so you may need to hold the power button down in some cases to check

Other Thoughts: The unit is just about perfect for what I wanted, and recently, I bought a second one here from Newegg for my wife. She loves it too. We are both using Blackberry Curve 8330 Sprint phones - FYI. Also works flawlessly with my laptop for audio.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad at all

Pros: I mainly bought this for use with my iphone 3g and it works very well with that. I am able to listen to music on it in stereo, very well and when I drive, I remove the stereo attachment and use it as a mono hands-free kit.
It works well with Windows 7 RC and Windows Vista (using my Cirago BTA-3210 USB 2.0 micro bluetooth dongle).

Cons: I was unable to get this it to work in any way shape or form with Windows XP SP3. That was a little annoying. I also kinda wish I could pair it with two devices at one time. I also noticed that it's a stretch to last a full work day without the battery dieing. It lasts most of the day but rarely the entire work day. My eventual solution is to essentially have a charger at home, in the car, and at work.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I think it's worth the $47.99 I paid for it because it is able to handle so many situations (handsfree kit in the car, wireless audio with the laptop, wireless audio at work, and wireless music with the iphone). It's comfortable and it seems to be durable enough for my needs.

Side Note: It get's in the way while shooting archery. Another solution would be better while shooting. The bow string keeps hitting it off of my ear.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great call quality and decent music playback sound quality. Lots of different ear bud options to find the right fit. Quick to set up. Very light weight.

Cons: Next/Prev song feature does not work with iPhone 3g. Over ear loops dont even touch your ear to give it much support but the bud stays firmly in ear with normal use w/o them anyway.

Other Thoughts: Need to fix the track skip problems for iPhone. Feels a little cheap but thats what you get when something weighs about 16grams.
