Is Good.

Sound is good and clear coming and going. Like another reviewer said, works very well even if you wear eyeglasses.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow-up

Pros: A followup to my previous review. After having the headset for a while and playing around with it, it turns out that it does not in fact have a faulty connector. The button to mute the mic was the problem. Once I realized this, I can honestly say that this is the better of the cheap headsets that I tested when it comes to sitting in a pretty quiet house and using it with a laptop. Other did poorly with the laptop, but were great in the car with a cellphone. The Plantronics was hands down the best for conference calls and voip.

Cons: None right now.

Other Thoughts: The default ear plugs weren't the right size, but there were a variety of sizes and styles included. I haven't had these on all day yet, but I think that the black foam pair should do the trick. I haven't seen that style before.

3 out of 5 eggsFault connector

Pros: Very good mic audio quality. I purchased several headsets to compare their quality. I then recorded my voice plugging in the various headsets. This one was the best sounding of the bunch.

Cons: There is definitely a faulty connector. I suspect that this is the cause of people complaining that the mic was doa. I have to pull the plug out slightly for the mic to work.

Other Thoughts: I'm disappointed that I can't rate this higher. I was looking for a headset that produced better quality than the built in mic on my Lenovo T420. This headset and the built in mic were tied, but given that the plug is faulty, it's not worth the trouble.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Headset...so far

Pros: Case, noise isolating ear buds, in-line controls, price (on sale when I bought both of them).

Cons: Wired, uncomfortable under a motorcycle helmet after 30 minutes -> hour of riding time.

Other Thoughts: I have used these when I want to be able to answer calls while riding a motorcycle. Normally I just use noise isolating ear buds without a mic, but sometimes it is nice to be able to answer the phone. I have had mixed success using this device. Sound quality of music playback and voice conversations is good (not great). Mic does not eliminate background noise as much as I had hoped. Positioning in the helmet plays a big part in the other party being able to hear me as well. I am planning to add a small wind sock over the mic and testing on future rides.

Would be nice if it was somehow a Bluetooth headset, but for the price, this works very well. I am curious to see how well it lasts after repeated use. I bought two in case one fails after some extended use.

1 out of 5 eggsMicrophone broke within weeks

Pros: Good sound quality, good fit.

Cons: Only useful if you plan on using it for a few weeks. Mine has never left my desk and the microphone's already detached from the earbud. Terrible build quality.

Other Thoughts: I expected more from Plantronics.

2 out of 5 eggsZERO BASS

Pros: Sound comes out of the ear buds!

Cons: These things have absolutely zero bass. There isn't a hint of it. I got them to listen to music on my phone and work PC. They are useless for that.

3 out of 5 eggsbummer...

Pros: Inexpensive. Comfortable in ear design.

Cons: The cable is short, it is better suited for a phone and not a PC. I was unable to get the device to work with Skype, or Ventrillo. With just one 3mm connector how would you get both the microphone, and ear buds to work?

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for something to use with Ventrillo/Skype through your PC you may want to look elsewhere, I was unable to get the device to function as both microphone and speaker simultaneously.

2 out of 5 eggsEh...

Pros: Decent sound quality
Snug fit/array of ear pieces

Cons: Mic is broken and only clicks.

Other Thoughts: A bit miffed that I was excited about getting a pair of ear buds again that had a cool mic attachment, only to have the mic be broken when I make my first call. I tried sound recorder afterward, and while the mic is transmitting, there's only repeated clicks being picked up.
