Pros: Cable works just as any other would.

Cons: Does not seem to work with Vista.

Other Thoughts: The motorola phone tools app did not work for my hybrid sprint/nextel ic902 phone. And didn't seem to want to update to recognize new phones with vista either. It would just give an error and close (i tried this on both my laptops w/ vista)

Motorola Phone Tools Software

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Allows back-up of phonebook and calendar data to your PC. Easy to make ringtones, and send photos and ringtones to phone. Make entries to phonebook and other information on your PC - much easier than typing on phone keypad.

Cons: Data transfer seems a little slow compared to other USB devices. Menus are not very intuitive, it takes a little getting used to.

Other Thoughts: I cannot understand the negative reviews. The software installed fine, and automatically updated itself to the new version. Definetly worth the cost in my view. Using with a V3r phone.

Good Deal

Pros: A USB cable is a USB cable. The real bargain here is the Motorola Phone Tools software which my local provider sells for $59.95 + tax!

Cons: Not all features work with all Motorola Phones.

Other Thoughts: Even though this is the 4.0 software it updates itself for free to the latest version. Here's tip for people having trouble. DO NOT PLUG YOUR PHONE IN FIRST!!!! It amazes me how many people hook up the device and then try to install the software and wonder why it doesn't work!
