5 out of 5 eggsGood sound

Pros: Sound is fantastic. Very easy to set up. I have a Motorola S805 bluetooth dj headset and I've been using it with my phone Samsung Infuse and everything sounded cheap. I'd have the phone in my pocket and the connection would break up intermittently for no reason. Considerably better sound with this dongle.

Cons: Non that I can think of at the moment. It's small definitely won't break off. Very easy to set up I'm using windows 7 ulti with the drivers from the mini disk. Don't have to pull my tower out to unplug the usb when I don't want it running easy to disable it from the task bar icon.

5 out of 5 eggsAmateur Hour in here.

Pros: This card worked awesome right out of the box. Went directly to the manufacturers website to get the latest updated drivers. Still running strong on all my bluetooth devices.

Cons: None...

Other Thoughts: Amateur hour. You always go to the manufacturers website to get the latest drivers on all Hardware and Peripherals.

2 out of 5 eggsStopped working in a couple of months

Pros: Once i got the s/w to work, it worked for 3-4 months. Synced up with no issues on my Samsung galaxy S phone.

Cons: The drivers for this are a pain to setup. I had issues across multiple machines. I first went with broadcom drivers and it worked on one machine for a bit. The blue light stopped working after a while and now even after installing the drivers off the iogear website, the connection drops after a minute or so and i get "radio stopped broadcasting" errors. I ultimately have to remove the device and restart the PC to do the whole thing all over again. It's getting annoying. I'm going to try for a RMA but the IOgear website doesnt have an easy way to submit a RMA. I'll have to email them and hope for the best.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for the inconvenience. To better service you and understand your set up, please feel to contact our customer support at 1-866-946-4327 or email us: support@iogear.com. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat for Windows; Bad for Linux

Pros: Works reliably in Windows 7 64-bit. If you have no intention of using this on anything other than Windows, you'll most likely be fine.

Cons: Doesn't have drivers available for the Linux community. Fail. Tried using Jolicloud and Ubuntu with it. The consensus is that if one is using Linux, one needs a different BT dongle. Another smaller niggle is that one cannot selectively turn off the LED in the unit. When it is turned on, the adapter glows unstoppably blue. Seems like a waste of battery power with a laptop, but to be fair, I don't know how much energy it really uses to stay lit.

Other Thoughts: Took a surprising amount of time to install, but no problems (in Windows) after that. Stereo audio via Motorola S305 BT headphones sounded ok but a bit "digitized"; that's a BT bandwidth issue, not an issue with the dongle or the computer.
