5 out of 5 eggsExceeds expectations

Pros: Good sound considering cost and size. Nice options: SD, USB, 3.5mm. Light weight and portable. Loud enough.

Cons: Might not take a lot of abuse, but isn't flimsy.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what others are expecting sound wise. We loaded up an SD card with mp3s, and thought the sound was quite good. Way better than laptop speakers, and on par with decent amplified PC speakers. mp3 can be a rather poor source for quality music.

We wanted a relatively small unit for listening on the back patio or to take camping. This is perfect.

Very good design - nice features.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good highs, decent bass, great mids; compact size; comes with charger and battery; uses pretty universal Lith-ion battery (you can get a replacement or an extra pretty easily and relatively cheaply, allowing you to have multiple charged batteries if you need to use it "out in the sticks" for an extended period); sleek and cool appearance; seems pretty durable; rubber grips/feet on the bottom are certainly nice

Cons: A handle to carry it around would be nice - it's just large enough to be slightly awkward in one hand

Other Thoughts: This device was able to play music from my phone at a volume that remained acceptable even when I was in a different room for extended periods of time. Also, despite all of the phones and devices that the title lists, don't worry - it's literally just a 3.5mm AUX that lets you plug into anything that plays music and has an optional headphone or AUX jack. The devices are mentioned is because there are skip/rewind/etc. buttons on it that function with those that are listed.

2 out of 5 eggsPretty underwhelming

Pros: -Included rechargeable battery / USB charger
-Theoretically plays direct from USB drives and SD card slots
-Fine for making your phone / mp3 player louder.
-Technically kind of a bargain at its sale price; most speakers with these features cost about twice as much.
-Looks kinda Tron-y

Cons: -Really doesn't sound that good. This is important, on account of it's a speaker for listening to sounds on. Minimal bass, pretty muddy highs (shouldn't be hard to get decent highs from 1.75" drivers). It sounds pretty bad with most types of music, except unchallenging acoustic stuff. It's basically clock radio sound, without the clock or the radio.
-Side-firing speakers eliminate any benefit to stereo effect. Just kind of fires sound everywhere BUT at the listener.
-1/3 of the USB drives I tried didn't want to work with it. Those with an LED "ON" indicator seemed to maybe be drawing power that wasn't there, and were never discovered by the device. -NOTE, though, USB / SD sources won't play when the 1/8" mini jack is plugged in, whether or not it's getting a signal.
-The odd shape actually makes it uniquely unwieldy for a device its size. It's highly unpackable.
-Absurd name

Other Thoughts: It hardly cost me anything, but I still wish I hadn't bought it. I already have a seven-year-old Tivoli Pal that does what this does and has a tuner and sounds way better. But I thought it'd be fun to have a junky little expendable gadget on hand.

It really doesn't sound as good as the reviews here suggest, and that's my main disappointment. I could see it being a decent way to listen to, say, audiobooks or or something. Or it could be a nice low-cost gift to placate an undeserving cloth-eared child's demands for a mini speaker.

I don't hate this thing. But it's really not very good. There are worse ways to blow $20, and there are better.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, your better off getting Logitech tablet speaker

Pros: memory card slot (i wont use it)
removable battery (i wont remove it)
volume knob
USB wall charger (didn't expect that)!!

Cons: Sound distortion when turned up pass 66%
Bigger then I expected.

Other Thoughts: I would guess it has poor quality amp, a speaker this big should sound better.

The logitech tablet speaker 'for iPad' works as portable speaker for any tablet/phone/pod device, it sounds better, and is more portable.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little speaker

Pros: Portable, good battery life, SDHC slot, reasonable price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not high fidelity by any means but pumps out good sound at a fairly loud level. Great for beach, picnics, tail-gate parties.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth the Price

Pros: At $19.00 the Sonawave 3 Speaker is a decent option for portable music play. The bass output is what you should expect from 2.5" drivers, in other words little output below 200hz, but there is no buzzing when running the speaker at full volume. Battery life is 4-5 hours when playing at moderate volume. I bought 2 spare Nokia phone batteries and keep them charged. I would recommend the Sonawave 3 to anyone looking for a decent take-along speaker for camping, the beach or anyware power is not available. Fun and cheap, good combination!

Cons: Short battery life, no bass output, questionable construction quality

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Music Box

Pros: Plays mp3 files on SD cards or USB Flashdrives, or via audio input port (any mp3 player audio output). The sound is SUPERB with the dual speakers, lots of bass, and little or no distortion even when you turn it way up. Comes w a rechargeable lithium battery and AC charger, so that it becomes a portable player for 4-5 hrs depending on how loud you are playing your stuff. Even as simply a portable amplified speaker this is a great unit.
The sound quality is far better than I expected for this price and beats all amplified computer speakers in this price range and then some. Small size and great sound makes for a fantastic portable player. It really can fill a medium sized room or two with great sound.

Cons: The only negatives would be the on/off switch is kind of flimsy and the black labels on black plastic are very hard to see in dimly lit environment -but these are small cons.
You're told to put your mp3 files in the root directory of the SD card or Flashdrive in the order you prefer, but it is unclear how the device sorts the songs for playback. When you copy the files they get sorted by the OS, alpha or date but what criteria does the device use for sorted playback? I have not done experiments to figure it out yet. They really should tell us.

Other Thoughts: This unit at $30 is a SUPER deal, far, far better than any of the amplified computer speakers at this price
