5 out of 5 eggsBest FM transmitter ever

Pros: Works really well. Has skip and back buttons for my playlist which work with Android music player. Audio quality can be better but the best I've heard so far on any of FM transmitters. Nice base on the sound too!

Cons: A little bit on the high price range

Other Thoughts: If you have a car that does not have line in or bluetooth, this is the best way to hear music from your phone.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The product came in simple packaging, and was a breeze to assemble. The instructions for use provided were clear cut and concise. The product showed a quite a bit of promise.

Cons: Immediately I found out that the Bluetooth feature wasn't working. The Aux cable or Line-In/Line-Out cable had to be used and I had a strange suspicion that it was one of poor quality. The product offers an absolute terrible experience in Urban areas simply because of the number of radio stations in the area. The little hand dial can be cumbersome to use when dialing it to the frequency you want to transmit and even if you're lucky to find a frequency with background static.

Other Thoughts: Overall I think this is a solid product under the right conditions, but if you're a city driver, you may want to consider other alternatives. Before this I had no idea that my car had a Line-In port (most cars after 2004 or 2005 should).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great with reasonable expectations

Pros: Power button so you don't have to unplug it when leaving the car
Line in and out makes it more versitile than you might have thought.
Auto frequency finder works well, and fast.

Cons: Quality is not as good as a regular FM radio station. its' really only noticable at the highest volumes on my stereo.
Output noticably louder than other FM stations.
Seems to want to work it's way out of the socket. It doesn't fall out, but maybe once per week I have to give it a little push to put it back all the way into the socket.

Other Thoughts: I've used a handful of FM tuners in the past (including one built into a portable cd player), and this is probably the best one in signal quality alone. It's certainly not perfect, but it's a lot better than the cassette adapter I was using in my older model chevy. I spent a week or so experimenting with different frequencies until I found one that was good for my entire 22 mile commute to work. Once I found that, I changed a pre-set on my stereo to match, setup a script to start the music player whenever this bluetoothd evice is connected, and now I can flip through my regular FM radio stations as well as my personal music library station without doing anything additional except hitting the little power button to make sure it is on.

Overal very pleased with the product for the price I paid. As long as there is no major failure for a few years, I would buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsBest One I've Owned

Pros: Great signal strength, even in a city.
Easy to find a new open station to tune to when travelling.
No more messing with wires... the combination of Bluetooth and FM tuner is arguably better than a straight aux plug-in, considering how good the quality of the sound is.

Cons: None so far. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I've taken the cheap route with these things in the past and now regret it. Although this is a little more expensive than many of the other options out there it seems to be well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsGOgroove FlexSMART X2

Pros: Simple to set up and use
Nearly noiseless FM connection

Cons: Bluetooth sometimes unreliable/drops connection
Construction quality won't stand up to abuse

Other Thoughts: I bought it to use my phone with my classic sports car - very easy to set up and noiseless FM connection. Looks ok, but not high class by any stretch. Lights are a little cheesy.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: No background hiss. Louder achievable volumes than previous fm transmitters. Easy to sync.

Cons: Doesn't always auto-sync.

Other Thoughts: I researched fm transmitters quite a bit before purchasing this and was looking for something to listen to audiobooks and podcasts with in my work vehicle as I drive 200-300 miles a day. Hands free phone features are just as great. This little gadget is awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Connects easily, controls work well. Would recommend to anyone who needs a portable bluetooth solution and doesn't want to rip out their radio. Has served me well, despite leaving in a hot car during summer.

Cons: Low bass.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy to set up and use. Decent range, good sound quality, don't need to find a perfectly clear frequency, it usually overpowers the other radio station, and every function works as it should.

Cons: Sometimes a bump on the road and the weight of the device will temporarily cause the device to shut off.

5 out of 5 eggsBest FM Transmitter Out There

Pros: We've had 2 of these for 2.5 years now. Both are still in great working-order.

I've tried several other car FM-transmitters over the years [audio-jack input ones]. All of them were easily swamped by local stations. This one, however, overrides them.

Any time I'm driving long-distance, when the FlexSMART-X2 starts encountering interference, I'll regularly discover that I was tuned to the same frequence as a local station - with a strong signal, not less!

The only time I have any interference from local stations is when I'm in a major metro-area with the entire FM-band packed full of stations, with barely a free frequency. Even then, the interference is due to the random-diffraction of a radio signal off of a building or bridge. For some reason, the random shift of a neigbouring frequence into the band that the FlexSMART-X2 is tuned to causes the FlexSMART-X2 to have problems. Strange, but temporary [and only a real problem when listening to audiobooks].

Anyway, this device is great. I highly recommend it.

Cons: On one of our 2 FlexSMART-X2 devices, the volume/tuning knob is kinda stiff, and less-sensitive [i.e. you have to turn the knob quite a bit to get it to do something].

One other minor annoyance, also with the volume/tuning knob, is changing from tuning to volume. The FlexSMART-X2 will change its display to volume control, but turning the knob still changes the tuning, and not the volume. Happens with both of the FlexSMART-X2 we own. Annoying, but easy enough to recover from.

Still, both of these flaws aren't enough to detract from my rating. This transmitter is just that good.

Other Thoughts: Those people who complain about the "Play" button not starting your music player, or starting the wrong player? That's a problem with your phone or mp3-player, not the FlexSMART. It'll have the same problem with any Bluetooth media-player controller.
