1 out of 5 eggsStopped Working Pretty Quickly

Pros: Great idea, low(ish) cost

Cons: Didn't work for more than a day

Other Thoughts: I really wanted this to work - it's a lot less than a fancy new in-dash stereo with similar functionality.

However, after working fine on the first day I tried it, the unit no longer appears to transmit an FM signal.

4 out of 5 eggsGood and bad.

Pros: Very handy.. Flexible neck can point the LED's away from the driver for improved night driving. Connects to darn near anything bluetooth. Sound quality is adequate, when you realize that you're converting from bluetooth to FM. Onboard volume control covers an adequate range, and the FM transmitter is strong enough that it makes if from the dash of my car to the antenna on my trunk with no issues.

Cons: This device is far from perfect, but the majority of the issues are tolerable.

Volume ranges from 0 to 30, but always defaults to 20, so I have to turn up the volume to 30 every time that I turn the unit on, otherwise the volume is considerably lower than the volume on a regular radio station.. Annoying but tolerable as it only adds a few seconds to the startup and pairing routine when getting in the vehicle.

The weight of the hard part of the unit is considerably more than the part that plugs into the lighter socket, so sometimes going over bumps the unit will twist in the lighter socket, and rarely loses power meaning that you may have to pick up your phone to continue a conversation, and restart the unit and reconnect the bluetooth to continue playing music. - all in all that is rare, but annoying anyway.

Several months after purchase (but out of warranty), one of the parts of one of the LED digits went dark, so the 9's look like 4's, 6's look like a o with a halo, etc..It's been this way for a couple years now, and the only time it bothers me, is when I have to re-tune the FM station for a new area I'm traveling to. So far this unit has been in nearly a dozen vehicles, and traveled nearly 200k miles.

Now, comes the fatal flaw, this happened to me a few days ago. The flexible part, has threads on both ends, and a nut inside that holds it in place. On mine, the nut in lighter plug part came loose and fell off, leaving the head unit dangling by the wires. I have tried getting it apart to re-tighten the nut but don't think it will come apart without breaking it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this a few years ago as a shell-shocker. (yes, I said a few years) and it has never left me wishing that I had bought something else once I figured out it's quirks. It just so happens that it's on the shell shocker again today, so if I break this one trying to repair it today, it will get replaced today as a shell shocker.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Bluetooth/Aux adapter

Pros: Offers good loud audio signal via Bluetooth or aux. Easy to use, easy to connect. Didn't even need the instructions. I do need to hit the power button when I get in and out of my car because my car doesn't power off the cigarette lighter port. Not the adapters fault though.

Cons: I find that using the radio function the audio quality is a bit lower. Less bass sounds "tin-ny" (if that's a word). I attribute that to the fact that it's converting it to radio. I have an aux port so it's not that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: Long flexible neck works great on my '08 impala. The cigarette lighter power outlet is somewhat under the dash so it would have been very difficult to use with the shorter neck model.

5 out of 5 eggsBest FM transmitter ever

Pros: Works really well. Has skip and back buttons for my playlist which work with Android music player. Audio quality can be better but the best I've heard so far on any of FM transmitters. Nice base on the sound too!

Cons: A little bit on the high price range

Other Thoughts: If you have a car that does not have line in or bluetooth, this is the best way to hear music from your phone.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The product came in simple packaging, and was a breeze to assemble. The instructions for use provided were clear cut and concise. The product showed a quite a bit of promise.

Cons: Immediately I found out that the Bluetooth feature wasn't working. The Aux cable or Line-In/Line-Out cable had to be used and I had a strange suspicion that it was one of poor quality. The product offers an absolute terrible experience in Urban areas simply because of the number of radio stations in the area. The little hand dial can be cumbersome to use when dialing it to the frequency you want to transmit and even if you're lucky to find a frequency with background static.

Other Thoughts: Overall I think this is a solid product under the right conditions, but if you're a city driver, you may want to consider other alternatives. Before this I had no idea that my car had a Line-In port (most cars after 2004 or 2005 should).

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great with reasonable expectations

Pros: Power button so you don't have to unplug it when leaving the car
Line in and out makes it more versitile than you might have thought.
Auto frequency finder works well, and fast.

Cons: Quality is not as good as a regular FM radio station. its' really only noticable at the highest volumes on my stereo.
Output noticably louder than other FM stations.
Seems to want to work it's way out of the socket. It doesn't fall out, but maybe once per week I have to give it a little push to put it back all the way into the socket.

Other Thoughts: I've used a handful of FM tuners in the past (including one built into a portable cd player), and this is probably the best one in signal quality alone. It's certainly not perfect, but it's a lot better than the cassette adapter I was using in my older model chevy. I spent a week or so experimenting with different frequencies until I found one that was good for my entire 22 mile commute to work. Once I found that, I changed a pre-set on my stereo to match, setup a script to start the music player whenever this bluetoothd evice is connected, and now I can flip through my regular FM radio stations as well as my personal music library station without doing anything additional except hitting the little power button to make sure it is on.

Overal very pleased with the product for the price I paid. As long as there is no major failure for a few years, I would buy it again.

5 out of 5 eggsBest One I've Owned

Pros: Great signal strength, even in a city.
Easy to find a new open station to tune to when travelling.
No more messing with wires... the combination of Bluetooth and FM tuner is arguably better than a straight aux plug-in, considering how good the quality of the sound is.

Cons: None so far. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I've taken the cheap route with these things in the past and now regret it. Although this is a little more expensive than many of the other options out there it seems to be well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsGOgroove FlexSMART X2

Pros: Simple to set up and use
Nearly noiseless FM connection

Cons: Bluetooth sometimes unreliable/drops connection
Construction quality won't stand up to abuse

Other Thoughts: I bought it to use my phone with my classic sports car - very easy to set up and noiseless FM connection. Looks ok, but not high class by any stretch. Lights are a little cheesy.
