5 out of 5 eggsBuy it!

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: This item is well worth the money and will do circles around Beats Pill 24/7. I looked all over the place for a decent bluetooth mobile speaker and this does it all. It's the same cost as the Beats Pill, but this has the best sound out of all the mobile bluetooth speakers I've tested. Easy to connect, great acoustic sounds, decent battery life.

Cons: Price is a little high, but well worth it if you're comparing the Beats Pill and if you are about sound quality

4 out of 5 eggsBeaty and Simplicity

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: design, ease of use, battery life.

Cons: A little pricy... but it is Bose.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these as Christmas gifts. Both receiptents were very pleased. Bose is the best. However, both people have iPhones (1 is a 5 and other 1 is a 4S) which seem to have a bluetooth distance of less than the standard 33 ft. So, keep that in mind. Works brillantly with my Windows Lumia 920 tho. Now, I want one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome portable sound

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: GREAT full range sound in a small package. Decent battery life on lower volume setting. Seems to recharge quickly. More bass than you would expect out of a small package.

Cons: Battery is drained quite quickly if listening at loud volumes, but I have a JBL speaker that does the same thing

Other Thoughts: This thing is great because you can just connect your phone and bring it with you outside to work, on the deck for some background music while friends are over, or into the garage while you wrench on your wife's car. Also good for tailgating or the beach.

5 out of 5 eggsBose... Need I say more?

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: This is by far the best sounding speaker I have ever heard. I have been in the radio engineering industry for years now. Sound is what I do. The best thing about this speaker is how well it can reproduce low end frequencies. And whats even more amazing is how well the speaker does it at a low volume. Most other speakers need to be loud to make any good sounds, but the black magic inside this speaker allows it to make incredible sound at just about any volume.

Cons: recently (after owning it for 6 months or so) it will randomly shut it self off... no pattern to this as far as I can tell... maybe the planets align and it changes the flux vortex around the speaker...

Other Thoughts: Great battery life, and it even comes with a dock charger that makes everything way easier

I have compared it to the bigger bose wireless speakers and havent noticed much difference. the bigger ones get louder, but produce about the same sound quality. I am about ready to get rid of my big home stereo for the simple fact, i just dont use it with this speaker in my life.

2 out of 5 eggsBose

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: Hard to break

Cons: -Bose is overpriced, always.
-Bose doesn't publish any specifications, the reason is their sound quality almost universally sucks (they claim they don't because knowing the specifications would 'ruin the experience' between user and product *bose employee proceeds to taste his farts while smacking lips*).
Bose has poor quality because their frequency range is smaller than other brands and their wave forms are usually all over the place.
-Bose is like Apple, if Apple had absolutely no redeeming qualities besides style. Bose markets like crazy, sells polished turds at high margins, and hides their lack of quality.

Bose is kind of like the Monster Cable of speakers.

Other Thoughts: There is a reason musicians, djs, producers, or even music enthusiasts that peddle in lossless don't buy Bose.

5 out of 5 eggsOh yeah....

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: Packs quite the punch! Sound is very close to real life. Sturdy feel. Build quality is second to none.

Cons: None that come to mind.

Other Thoughts: Price is absolutely worth it. It fills rooms with easy, and looks great doing it.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Speaker!

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: This speaker packs quite the punch for such a small speaker! I was really surprised at how deep the bass is and how loud this speaker is.

Cons: The price, obviously (but it is a Bose, so the price is worth it for this type of quality). When they advertise battery life for "up to 7 hours", I assume that, that means that your phone/MP3 player is connected via an auxiliary cord and it is on the lowest volume. I have taken this speaker to work, connected my phone to bluetooth, and turned it all the way and I am lucky to even get an hour and a half of music before it dies.

Other Thoughts: I use this speaker all the time; I disconnected my computer speakers from my desktop and use this instead! I also take it to work to listen to music, and love the portability of it! I would recommend this speaker, but it is still pretty quiet if you work in a loud environment (I work in a factory and have a hard time hearing it unless I am very close to it), but it is still surprisingly loud for the size of it.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing with one rather annoying flaw

This review is from: Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

Pros: -Amazing sound quality for a couple 1" speakers (when using an equalizer to cancel out it's annoying internal equalizer)
-Goes pretty loud
-Amazingly strong bass for such a small package
-If you ever need to throw a brick at something, this will suffice in place of a brick and will probably even still work after throwing it.
-Simple, durable, no frills

Cons: -Overpowering bass and highs
-Somewhat unclear mids
-The eq Bose decided to put in these speakers makes them sound like a desktop speaker set with a small subwoofer set way too loud.
-Costs $200 but yet it still requires an external eq to sound decent. This is completely unacceptable since they could have VERY EASILY set the internal eq properly themselves.
-Latency; It obviously has latency over Bluetooth, this is not a con as it is to be expected and is probably only going to be used for music. However, it also has latency when using wired. The tiny bit of latency is only noticeable if playing music on this and another set of speakers at the same time.

Other Thoughts: The problem with unclear mids, overpowering bass, and overpowering highs can be mostly fixed by using an equalizer to turn bass down by ~12 dB and the highs down by ~10 dB while leaving the mids alone. This decreases the "impressive factor" but increases the clarity. The "impressive factor" is the same thing that a well known brand with a lowercase b on all of it's headphones uses.

I found that I can not fall asleep while listening to music with these speakers, but after setting an eq to cancel out the overzealous eq built into these speakers it sounded much better and I could actually fall asleep to music playing on these speakers.
____

TLDR, these are amazing speakers for their size, and if not for Bose's decision to use a bad sounding eq in them, they would have been 5 eggs.
