5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Charges everything I throw at it. Will Charge your camcorder as long as it takes 8.4v or less, most newer camcorders need more than that. Charges external batteries which is a big plus. I had a spare battery for my harmony remote which wouldn't charge in the cradle and didn't want to have another separate charger for that battery and just use the clip for this and now I have a spare charged battery for my remote. Comes with most tips you might need. Needed a different one for my camcorder and it arrived in 3 days for about a buck and a half. Charges my Android phone 2 times before needing a recharge. Now the only charger I have out, put all my others away since owning this thing. Ipod touch charges no problem.

Cons: Just make sure that the items you have will work with this. If you want to use it for your camcorder, make sure of your charge voltage required or else you will need the xp8000.

Other Thoughts: Looked at many different portable charging units, for the price ($25) of this thing nothing came close, other comparable units were at least $40 and no free tips. I don't take this everywhere as it is a little big, so I have a small kodak unit (very small) just for emergencies for my phone. If I'm going out of town for more than a day, this goes with me. Love it!

1 out of 5 eggsthis is garbage

Pros: pretty packaging
free tips (2 per year for life)
charges my smart phone (htc magic)

Cons: charges my smart phone then when it runs out of power it drains the cell phone
shiny plastic gets full of finger prints

Other Thoughts: I have no idea how it was able to drain my cell phone, yet I left my htc magic plugged into the xp4000 overnight to test it, when I left it the magic appeared to be charging then when I woke up both the xp4000 and the htc magic were drained of power. I got it for $25 with free shipping and to return it would cost $20 so there isn't any point to rma it, it's garbage (I will recycle it, of course).

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm.

Pros: Charges everything I throw at it: Two iPods, Windows Mobile, Plantronics headsets and an iPhone 4 all charge (a rarity since Apple changed thier charging scheme recently. My iPhone 4 stays fully charged even if I am watching movies on a plane or GPSing in a rental car.

Cons: My son ordered one but it was DOA. Of course he threw away the packaging...

Other Thoughts: I likes the charging indicator an the offer for free tips for life.

5 out of 5 eggsRe iPad

Pros: I bought this for my iPad. It works with this caveat: to charge and use it, you need to use your own power cable that came with your iPad. The one that comes with this device will allow you to use the iPad, but it won't charge at the same time. Use your own cable and you can use and charge.

Cons: None for me so far.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but may overstate device compatibility

Pros: Charges Blackberry Torch, Bold and Curve and Plantronics bluetooth headsets via the micro and mini-USB tips included (although not at the same time). It also charges my iPod Touch using the tip provided. I don't have an iPhone or iPad to test, but other reviewers suggest that it will not work with the iPad while the iPad is on.

Cons: I thought I could outsmart Panasonic and use this as a backup battery for my camcorder, HDC-TM700 instead of buying the proprietary battery and save $30. Getting the tips and capability to charge my other portable electronics was going to be a bonus. According to the Energizer website, the NB03 tip that comes with this pack is compatible with the HDC-TM700, so I thought I was set. Unfortunately, it is NOT compatible and on top of that, the XP4000 does not provide enough voltage to power the HDC-TM700. I got a nice response from Energizer/xpal saying the XP8000 would work but that is a $100 item which exceeds the cost of the proprietary Panasonic battery I was trying to avoid purchasing to begin with.

As others have posted, it looks like Energizer/xpal is providing incomplete information on what this device can and can not provide power. Oh, and fingerprint magnet is being kind. This thing gathers and holds fingerprints faster the NSA!

Other Thoughts: Well, I'm conflicted on whether or not to return this and pay the restocking fee or just keep it for the 1-2 times I may actually need it. The product is not exactly defective, just misrepresented - at least for my use. I'll probably hold onto it and see if I can take advantage of the alleged "free tips" program to power any of the other gizmos I've got in the house.

Overall, I am disappointed because I did research this purchase in advance and based on the manufacturer documentation on their own website, I thought I was buying something that would meet my needs and it turns out, I was wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Lots of power when you don't have an outlet. (I am able to fully recharge my iPhone more than twice before recharging the power pack.

Lots of tips and 2 free tips a year.

Included universal battery charger is ingenious. Can be used to charge any external battery that are within specs.

Small and light and cool looking.

Cons: It does look cool, but kinda wish that the finish was matte. Fingerprints and scuffs are inevitable (although it comes with a nice microfiber pouch).

Manual could be better.

Other Thoughts: Wanted to clear up the iPad confusion. My package came with the PC007 Adapter. However this is an adapter to be used with the original charging cable that came with your iPad. I'm surprised that other people didn't get this adapter, but maybe they have stopped providing it.

Also, another reviewer wished he could charge his laptop and more than one device at a time. Energizer has a version that can charge up to 3 devices including laptops (XP18000).

3 out of 5 eggsiPad Users must use own cable

Pros: Small with a lot of power.

Cons: No iPad connector unless you want to spend another $19.95 to get the adapter from Energizer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this just for my iPad, so I was a little peeved when it would not charge with the provided connector. I was even more angry when I found out I had to pay to get the connector I needed. Luckly, the apple cable works with the battery, so I can just use that. Considering it was listed as the second item in the title, I just assumed it would work.
