2 out of 5 eggsIssues

Pros: It might work eventually, but the systems that have the old port are starting to die on me, and newer things just don't use it

Cons: Pain to set up, I had a boatload of driver/software issues for some reason. Then it wouldnt pick up signal after I had squared everything away.

Other Thoughts: At the time I had bought this, I had just tossed it aside because I was frustrated and had already spent too long messing with it to want to deal with an RMA. How easily things are forgotten when put to the side. Oh well, not a big deal.. just not something I'll want to play with again.

Pros: well, didn't get a chance to use it.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: I ordered it, but don't have pcmcia in my laptop and the adapters are too expensive. so can't say much here.
please check before you order.

5 out of 5 eggslove it

Pros: it works and its fast. i have the basic data plan on my phone and when i put my sim card in this thing i get almost 4meg/second download and more then a meg upload.

more then worth every Penney not only will i suggest it to my friend but i may buy it as a gift for some of them with ATT cell service.

Cons: its pcmcia. i am testing it now with an old laptop but i'll have to buy a converter to use it with my new laptop. i think ill buy the Quatech PCD-X/U142-E from another site (newegg doesn't have anything like it that i can find).

Also it came in an opened case with broken warranty void stickers not a big deal for me because the card is in perfect condition, but still bad presentation

the last con was DHL shipping. it took way to long to get here and the tracking tells me it was less then an hours drive from me for 5 days at the delivery terminal or something.

Other Thoughts: you have to set up the connnection.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with a lil tweeking

Pros: Works, Netflix will stream.
Good price.

Cons: The antenna looks like it could break some what easily but probably will not if carefull.

Like others have said, you have to change the APN, username and password. If it was not for the posts in this feedback area I would have never gotten it to work.

I bought this to use with a laptop about 2 years old works fine, now at work we got new laptops and they do not have PCMCIA sockets anymore. I'm currently looking online for an adapter to work with laptops with an ExpressCard slot.

Other Thoughts: For fun I downloaded iTunes and the download rate was about 200-350KB/s with about 4 of 5 bars (sorry I don't remember the exact speed and signal)

ping times where some times 1600ms

Over all happy, glad I still have the Unlimited Data Plan with AT&T.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Works solid, as advertised. In fact, it gets better reception than my iPhone 3GS. I do not use personal internet access very often, so this item is great for me. The only downside is that it does not work with the included AT&T access manager. I used other reviewers' suggestions and downloaded the Option's GlobeT access manager (which works great). If you have an iPhone and do not wanna pay the stupid $20 monthly tethering fee, this is a great option.

Cons: Had to use another access manager than the supplied one.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME INVESTMENT

Pros: Worked flawless on my iPhone 3G 8G with Windows XP HOME edition with all of the microsoft updates. Tested at home and with ATT 3G I had 1Mb/s dowload and 1 Mb/s upload.

Cons: Wish it would be USB, you need to make sure you have a PC CARD TYPE 2 Slot on your laptop or it will not work. Cannot try on my MAC since it does not have a PC CARD SLOT. Cannot find a PC to USB converter in order to use on my other laptops without the PC slot.

Other Thoughts: You need to create a new profile in AT&T connection manager to make it work:

Access Point Name: wap.cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

If you do not have a dataplan from your cell phone provided you will need to setup one up and pay up, in that case, get a new USB card.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great so far!

Pros: Inexpensive
Easy to set up
Fast GSM speed
Uses your subscription's existing connection
No extra monthly tethering fees

Cons: Works only on laptops with PCMCIA slot

Other Thoughts: Works great so far on Windows XP ... up to 7 Mbps speed!

The advice from one of the reviewers really works (thank you!) -- create a new profile in AT&T connection manager to make it work, etc...

1 out of 5 eggsAT&T wireless gt ultra

Pros: None

Cons: Installer would not install. Said I had to contact my administrator (I assumed from AT&T). Tried just letting the computer find the installer on the CD that came with it. Supposedly it installed the driver but I was unable to get any network connectivity. THis item may work, but was a waste of time for me.

5 out of 5 eggsBest buy I've made in a long time

Pros: CHEAP! Reception on this thing is as good, or better, as my USB model. Works flawlessly (and FAST) with ATT. Antenna seems flimsy but I whacked it pretty good and it didn't break so there's another egg.

Cons: My D630 has the PC slot in the front left corner so the incessant blinking of the LED is near impossible to ignore. I'll apply a piece of electrical tape when I get home lest I succumb to a light induced seizure.

Other Thoughts: PCMCIA instead of USB. This is my only PC Card device so I don't have to worry about fishing it out of my laptop bag when I need it - it's always plugged in. That frees up a much needed USB port for one of the other million gadgets I tote around in my laptop bag.
