Like using your cell phone at home but don't like carrying it around? Now you can make and receive cell phone calls though your multi-handset home phone with the Bluetooth-powered Panasonic Link-to-Cell. Link-to-Cell harnesses the power of Bluetooth to combine the freedom of your cell phone and the convenience of a home phone.

DECT Plus technology takes the superb sound quality and outstanding range of DECT 6.0 phones to a whole new level. By increasing the frequency of error correction by up to 80x, the transmission quality is improved and the phone's range is extended.

Now you can hear who's calling from across the room without having to get up. Using text-to-speech technology. Panasonic phones featuring Talking Caller ID that announces caller ID information in between rings. What could be more convenient?

This feature automatically lowers the power consumption when you're using the handset close to the base unit. Not only does it extend the available talk time, it's good for the environment. When less power is used by the handset to communicate with the base unit, battery life is prolonged which results in less frequent charging and can result in fewer batteries in landfills.

Everyone hears differently. To maximize clarity or accommodate hearing loss, Panasonic added Call Tone Control to select 2011 models. This exclusive feature actually lets you control the bass, mid-range or treble tones in a caller's voice for maximum clarity.

Now you can program each handset to ring or not at your discretion. For example, before you go to sleep, set the bedside handset to Silent Mode so that it won't ring for the duration of your slumber. In the meantime, the handset in another room is unaffected, and rings as usual.

3 out of 5 eggsNot New

Pros: Phone operates as it should and it was clean. I have not found any functional defects as of yet.

Cons: I purchased this set thinking it was new. It was packaged in a brown box and had obviously been used. There was no original packaging and two of the three sets of batteries were just loose in the plastic bag, the third set still had the heat shrink wrapping I would expect. All in all the unit works but I have not tried out all the functions as of yet. If I would have shopped around in stores before I could have bought a brand new equivelant phone for approximately the same price.

Other Thoughts: As long as the phone works as intended I guess I can't complain except thinking it was new.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Deal!

Pros: It actually does let you link two cell phones to the base station.

Cons: Setup is a little time consuming. This is to be expected considering we're linking unlike products. Still, I don't think anyone else in my home could have understood the manual. Being an IT specialist helped.

5 out of 5 eggsLove 'em

Pros: Hold a charge for a long time. Recharge quickly. Attractive. Great features.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I really like these. After about 5 years with my old vTech system (which served its purpose), I sprung for these. I really like the features and there's just nothing I don't like. Had them for a few months now and no complaints.

4 out of 5 eggsPanasonic Link to Cell

Pros: Works out of the box.
Does exactly what it says it will do.
Clear sounds.
Great range.

Cons: Confusing instructions
Voice announcements are hard to understand.
Needs xtra space for wall mounting.

Other Thoughts: This is the third set of cordless phones by Panasonic. I also have had cordless by AT&T, Uniden and Vtech. Panasonic is by far and wide the best of them all. Prior to this I had an independent link to cell box, (no phone), that worked, but poorly, i.e. would break up or drop calls. Not with this Panasonic cordless. My only other comment would be that although my incoming calls, (voip) appear on my TV, the cells don't since they don't come from my IP.
