AT&T 1080The AT&T 1080 corded 4 line telephone with digital answering system features 60 minutes of recording time and a programmable auto attendant. The user can record memos and conference with up to 3 participants. The 1080 phone is DSL compatible and the large display screen makes caller information easy to read. Each line has its own light indicator and distinct ring tone. Numbers stored in the caller ID history can be dialed directly and, with the call waiting caller ID capability, you can see who is calling even when already on the line. It feels substantial in the hand and the sound and speaker are excellent. It doesn't feel like a cheap plastic phone which is all too prevalent these days. Cons: After less than a year the buttons on the keypad stopped working. No amount of troubleshooting could solve the problem. I would not purchase this phone again. Did you find this review helpful? All phones update time/day automatically, I assume from caller ID - gotta love technology! Cons: None really, see comments. Other Thoughts: See my comments for 1070 (generally great system for price, this system consists of multiple individual phones). Bought 1080 for one unit with answer machine so these comments only relate to answer machine. In order to provide extensive options this answer machine has limitations - tempted to reduce stars, but I'm really quite impressed with system. 1. Menu driven system with multiple mail boxes available that can provide extensive features. 2. It is possible to bypass menu system for incoming calls, IF you read manual carefully. 3. So far using old ans machine as simpler, but only 2 of 4 lines! 4. No simple way to turn on and off ans system (menu driven which can operate by time of day) 5. Complicated ans system yet cannot select individual lines (4 or none) and cannot pick up on first ring when office closed (no big deal really!) 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Did you? It has most any feature you can think of. Cons: Fundamentally flawed by virtue of poor, sometimes bad, sound quality both on speaker and handset. By my standards, this phone is unusable.
