Sound quality is fine. its a desktop telephone Cons: Another reviewer said it takes 2 AA batteries when it actually takes 4 AA batteries. I didnt know this when I bought it. Nothing but the handset will work unless you put batteries in it. The speaker phone dont work, or any of the display without the 4 batteries. If you are fine with replacing batteries, then this phone will do the job. My only gripe is the batteries and the really short cord they give you for the handset. You will most certainly want a longer one, unless you want to sit back in your seat and drag the phone off the desk. Also, the LCD screen is not backlit Did you find this review helpful? Robert E. 9/7/2011 6:08:43 PM Ownership: 2/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 3/5AT&T CL2909 Speaker Phone Skips This review is from: AT&T CL2909 Corded Phone Pros: Pretty nice all around wall and desk phone, and does not require a wall power adaptor which is great. Cons: The speaker phone does not work very well. For some reason when you have an automated system on the other end which speaks in a monotone the speaker phone breaks up. You get good voice segments separated by skipps every few seconds. Make listening to voice mail systems difficult. On the other hand -- highly modulated voice -- it seems to work ok. Strange and definly does not meet expectations. Other Thoughts: Not sure what to think. I've had good luck with AT&T phones in the past. Caller ID, Speaker phone, lists, etc. Great for land line use to have in case of emergency when the power goes out. Cons: Takes two AA batteries to make the digital display and the options that go with it to work. Not sure why as I used to have a corded phone that worked right off the voltage from the line itself with no need for batteries for the digital display. Included cord from base to handset is too short, may want to replace it. Other Thoughts: I've had the phone for several months now and have had no problems and haven't needed to replace the batteries. Overall a great corded phone. I keep it next to my work desk and prefer it over a cordless for the fact that there is never interference from other devices. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful. Did you?
