Other Thoughts: Unable to give 0 stars, so 1 is the lowest.... Called in about a business phone system purchased approximately 6-8 months ago. Purchased 4 additional cordless handsets and 1 cordless headset. This was my 2nd call to support about this particular product. First call was regarding a handset issue, which took 2 hours to resolve. I was satisfied with the resolution, however, that is not the case in my 2nd call for warranty issue. Today the base phone lost power, no lights or nothing. Tried all the trouble shooting techniques, removing batteries, power cord and waiting for several minutes to reconnect power. Called support, informed them of my situation, plus that I registered the phone system 6 -8 months ago (2 year warranty) and they determined without looking at the phone that the failure is outside of warranty. This type of warranty support is ridiculous to say the least. My first time purchasing RCA products, which will definitely be my last. Two year warranty and a reference to a specific page number in the user guide that indicates the failure has been determined a power surge is the reason the phone failed to operate today... Remarkable, this can be determined without looking at the phone. Only a question, did the phone loose power at anytime? Obiviously, removing the power at the wall outlet or removing power at the circuit breaker should not cause a product to instantly fail to meet warranty claims. As an individual who has studied electical engineering, I am impress with the abilities (customer service support representative) of this company's support staff to isolate a problem with one of their products to be due to potential power fluxuation within an electical circuit over the phone? NOT. Based on the type of support received, I will ensure all future orders of office equipment will never contain RCA products, rebranded or not. I can not believe this US company would treat a customer in this way, especially in these economic times. What is considered actual warranty support when RCA product fail to meet operating specifications?
