The Savi 700 series is changing the way productivity-focused office professionals communicate. The Savi 740 is available with standard version and Microsoft version. Savi W740-M is Microsoft version which is optimized for Microsoft Lync and Microsoft OCS 2007.

Savi W740-M automatically routes mobile audio to whichever device you pick up – headset or mobile phone. It also easily transfers audio between headset and mobile phone to take calls on-the-road. The UC presence automatically updated when on a PC, mobile or desk phone call. Conference in up to three additional headsets and guests can continue through multiple calls.
Superb wireless technology With cutting-edge DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Communications) technology, the Savi W740-M operates in the 1.9GHz frequency range to eliminate interference caused by radio signals from mobile phones, Wi-Fi or other wireless devices, delivering enhanced voice clarity, roaming range and security when making phone calls. Thus, you can multitask, hands-free up to 120 meters between your headset and the base. The Savi W740-M also features the latest Bluetooth 2.1 technology for enhanced audio transmission between your mobile phone and the base.
Premium sound quality Advanced wideband audio using CAT-iq technology allows for high definition voice quality. Noise-canceling microphone reduces background noise interruptions, ensuring great audio quality and easing listener fatigue. Plus, enhanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) provides more natural sounding voice.

It's a Plantronics headset, you wouldn't be looking at it if you didn't already know they build superior products. We have several of these deployed in our Bloomington office. They are fantastic and wonderful devices. Wait, you haven't bought it already? I can walk anywhere in the office, answer Skype, Lync, and Mobile Phone calls all at the push of a single button. Seriously, you should have already bought this by now. The headset comes with several wearing options including the In-Ear Hangs Off Your Ear With a Single clip style, Classic Call Center On-Ear Style, and In-Ear Wrap-Around-the-Back Headphone Style. I prefer the classic call center style, I find it more comfortable for long conference calls. Cons: Not really a con, but more of an annoyance, Bluetooth receiver/transmitter is in the base station, not the headset. keep your Bluetooth device within the Bluetooth radius of the base station. If you are on the headset all of the time the battery only lasts 4 hours. It will fully re-charge in about an hour, but if you dont have a full hour it wont get you through the rest of the day. This review is from: Plantronics Savi W740-M Multi Device Wireless Headset System (84001-01) Pros: It gets real hot in the summer so those over the ear and around the ear headsets are very uncomfortable during the summer. This is a great expensive alternative. Make sure you get the hot swappable charging Bay for an extra battery. It does come with a battery when you buy the charging bay. Cons: No cons really. Superb audio quality and it is awesome that this will work with my Avaya 4621 VoIP deskphone, my desktop for MS Lync, and my cellphone all from one headset! It is also super lightweight. I have had this thing on for hours with no discomfort. I have found that this has great range as well. I can go pretty much anywhere in my two story office building and never miss a beat. Cons: The Bluetooth connection for this is through the base station so I can't take the headset with me when I have to travel about the campus on tech calls. I have to switch over to my other BT headset when leave the office. Other Thoughts: For an office environment with multiple forms of audio communications this device is the tops. You will have to purchase an adapter cable for the specific model of deskphone or a handset lifter to be able to answer calls from the headset though. Did you find this review helpful?
