Guitar Hero, the game that started it all - and the third time is a charmer. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock retains the same game play people have come to know and love. Play solo or with another player – local or online - in either cooperative or battle mode. Work your way up to "Rock Legend" alone or with your partner in career mode. Play against the real rock guitarists, Slash and Tom Morello in boss battles. More than 70 songs – 54 of them master tracks – are ready to challenge you straight out of the box – and many more are available for download online. "Paint it Black" with the Rolling Stones," take it easy with Foghat's "Slow Ride" or power through DragonForce's "Through the Fire and Flames."

Successfully complete songs by hitting the right fret buttons when the color scrolls on-screen to earn in-game cash. This can be used to unlock new guitars, finishes, bonus songs, videos and characters including "Metalhead" and "Elroy Budvis." Multiple levels of difficulty are available so you can ease your way onto the highway to stardom.

The Gibson Les Paul controller for the Wii has exclusive features. Faithfully designed after the original, it feels just like the real thing. It features the five color-coded frets on the neck along with a durable, responsive strum bar, and whammy bar. With the Wii remote inserted, the game not only knows the position of the guitar, but adds audio and rumble effects as well. The Start and Select buttons have been crafted to resemble the volume knobs on the original.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a great game - fun for all ages. I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys music with a guitar in it.

Cons: After a week 1 of the buttons on the fret bar is starting to become resistant, not that it sticks ......yet, but I fear it may.

5 out of 5 eggsThis game Rocks! No pun intended

Pros: Game is a nice follow on the Guitar Hero II. With the Wii version you get great integration of the Wii remote, a nice list of songs, challenging and more. It is my kids (me too:) favorite game. The on-line gaming part is awesome for you get to play against people all over the world. With no wires you can roam the room while you play. Nice song list which spans from the late 1960's to songs from 2007.

Cons: The follow on, Guitar Hero World tour will have Drums as part of the game and it comes out this fall. That will make GHIII somewhat obsolete very quickly

Other Thoughts: One person said you can't buy a second guitar which would be nice to battle people head to head in your home/room. This is not true for you can buy a 2nd guitar. They sell them at Walmart (comes with wireless controller) or auction site which has them without the wireless controller (you just add your own as you did w/ original game) for twenty bucks

4 out of 5 eggsFun game, poorly engineered guitar

Pros: Fun Game, could have used some more songs. Wireless is great on Wii.

Cons: The two piece guitar is this games weak spot. The neck slides into the body so six contact pins can mate too alow the frett buttons to work. Right away the green button would not work. I could reseat it and get it to work for awhile and now nothing unless I really bend the neck of the guitar.

Other Thoughts: Aftermarket guitars are out now and they are one piece. It has been a common problem looking online but not big enought for Nintendo to do something about it.

5 out of 5 eggsGuitar Hero + Wii = Wonderful

Pros: It's Guitar Hero (that pretty much sums it up), the Wii guitar is AWESOME because it's wireless, you don't need batteries or anything for the guitar (only your Wiimote), lots of new songs, online gameplay.

Cons: Takes time to get good! Online play is a little lumpy... they'll need to fix a couple of bugs here and there.

Other Thoughts: Great game! Perfect for any GH lover or anyone who wants to get into it.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of fun!

Pros: Deviation from typical video games, good music, various difficulty settings, addictive, enough songs

Cons: Would be nice to be able to download new songs, limited replay value (see previous con), cannot buy a 2nd guitar w/o the game

Other Thoughts: A lot of fun to play, you can pick it up and play a 5 minute game or play for hours...very addictive, too. Even my wife likes to play the easy tracks from time to time...

2 out of 5 eggsThe game is.. well

Pros: Its GH, what else do you expect. Great songs and unlocks and you get to play oniine

Cons: Never EVER get this for the Wii, there is a tremendous lag between when you hit a note and when the game actually decides to accept that you did. Terrible thing that the Wii cant just get a whole guitar and not need you to use a remote to install to play. Just cant stand it

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor, and get this for a different system because its just not worth it on the Wii

4 out of 5 eggsGreat game, Wii version ehhh

Pros: Great songs, good gameplay, available for Wii.

Cons: Like everyone else says, no 2nd guitar possible unless you buy 2 copies of the game or have a friend who already has a copy. Also, there was tons of audio delay (about 60ms) I had to calibrate for a 32" HDTV and it made the video lag behind the audio. Also, the activation of star power (by tilting the guitar) was difficult and annoying.

Other Thoughts: I went out and bought a 360, and GH2 and GH3 (so I could have 2 guitars) and it's pretty amazing how much better it looks sounds and plays. The delay on the 360 is set to 0, so it's not a problem with my TV. I'm not knocking the Wii, love the system, this game is just a lot better on 360, and I presume PS2/3 as well. But, if all you have is a Wii it's still a great game, just make sure you calibrate the lag.
