4 out of 5 eggsHigh on Action, Low on Scare

Pros: This is a top notch on-rails shooter with a well thought out design.

-Once things start heating up, the challenge becomes which enemies to take down first as you'll often be faced with 4-5 at once. While you can freeze them, you can only use it once every 15 seconds or so.
-Good voice work and audio.
-Use of the "glow worm" is a nice touch. You have to shake the Wiimote in order to charge it up. Doesn't feel gimmicky and adds an element of anxiety.

Cons: -Not as scary as I would have hoped.
-The dialog, while well-acted, is pretty Michael Bay-ish which makes certain situations almost comical.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is an essential title for a Wii-owner looking for more of a mature experience. Side note: If you have a problem with motion sickness be sure to turn the camera shaking all the way down. Think Blair Witch shaking...constantly.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent On-rails shooter

Pros: Despite being a Wii game, the graphics are pretty decent and the atmosphere comes across as dark and creapy (as intended). The game has all the hallmarks of a typical on-rails shooter (like pickups that take timing and a fast trigger finger) and it pulls it off the quite well.

Cons: Wasn't completely aware that this was an "on-rails" horror shooter, a la House of the Dead and certain games of the Resident Evil series. I typically don't purchase such games since I don't care for the genre and I don't own any gun accessories for the Wii. This would definitely play better with such an accessory.

Other Thoughts: Price was right and the game looks good. I haven't played any other Dead Space games, but I suspect this one fills in some plot holes or at least gives some additional back story to the series.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than Original

Pros: I find this game to be better than the original Dead Space. If I remember correctly, this game is shorter than the original as well. I find that there is more character development in this game compared to the original, which is a huge plus for me since that adds more to the storyline.

As you play the game, you unlock audio/comic entries that tells another side of the story as well. Which again, puts more into the storyline which I like a lot.

The game also provides co-op feature which gives the game more replay value after you finished the game the first time. I would personally play through the game by myself first so there's no second person distraction rushing through the storyline and then come back playing the co-op on higher difficulty.

The controls are pretty solid as well. And the pace at which the game pushes you to move is perfect.

Cons: No Cons really. I kinda wish they would add more storyline to the game than it already has. But for an on-rail shooter, this is pretty dam good.

Other Thoughts: For an on-rail shooter, this is the best I've played. Much better than the on-rail Resident Evil series.

For $10 which I bought it for, its totally worth it. Short and Sweet with good storyline.

5 out of 5 eggsFUN!!

Pros: VERY FUN AND UNDERRATED.
Big fan of Dead Space for PS3. This is a great prequal that never got the respect it deserves. Very intense and will surprise you around every corner.

Cons: Not HD

Other Thoughts: Wish the Wii had a Trophy/achievement system

4 out of 5 eggsSupriseningly Stays True to The Series

Pros: *Great prequel, in my opinion. You will find your self amazed and laughing at the events that partake, and the actions your characters undergo in this game, that directly effect what Isaac must undergo in the original game. As such, it ties in more directly with the story of the first game then the animated movie that was released.
*Attention to detail was amazing. Certain areas are just like they were in the last game. On the other side of things, your characters will actually create some of the environments and hazards seen in the first game. You even meet Nicole.
*Weapons. The weapon selection is pretty close to that of the first, but with some discrepancies. For example. the ripper is now more powerful, and fun to control with the Wii's interface.
*Still violent

Cons: *Pretty short in length (less then 8 hours on hardest difficulty). Then again, most games these days are short, but still wouldn't yet recommend buying it until its like 20 dollars. I got it as a rental.
*No where near as frightening as the first. This game has many more characters then the first, which in essence alleviates a lot of fear. On the plus side, the tensions brought upon by the multiple characters, brings a lot of dramatic narrative of the story; that Isaac could not pull off in the first game (seeing as he was alone almost the entire time). So, I guess horror, is sacrificed for drama. But you really do begin to feel for these characters, and will learn to experience horror in a different manner.

Other Thoughts: *Play the first game first. It is a much stronger game overall, and it allows you to appreciate the subtleties in this game that you may not enjoy had you just jumped right in.
*Do some research before you buy games. This game is an on-rails shooter, meaning that your movement is restricted (think the shooters in the arcade). Although this is usually considered a cripple, this is the best on-rails I've ever played. Also, as it is on the Wii, don't expect the graphics to be amazing (although they are better then most other wii games). I heard a rumor a while back that the developers were interested in porting this game to the PS3/Xbox 360, so if the graphics are killing you, I'd say wait it out. Also, story is relevant to the individual. Chances are if you only like the first for its gripping fear and music, and not for the story, then you will probably not enjoy this game.
*Final tip...play this game by your self
*Overall, I'd give this game an 8 or 10 (hence the 4 eggs)

5 out of 5 eggsDead Space

Pros: This is a GREAT game. the plot, the cinamatics, the charactors, the history, the beasties, the religeous undertones, the ambiance, the score....Love the series...

Cons: Extraction is the worst of the series :( (and that cover, just begging for a parady...

Other Thoughts: The series is not a open world as Mass Effect is, but this is just what makes up the game mechanics.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Game!

Pros: This is an amazing game for the Wii! Some sweet weapons (flamethrower, pulse rifle, and gravity gun!). Game has a weird and creepy story line. It had me and my friends going!

Can't compare playing two player in the dark with two Nyko Perfect Shots. Simply cannot get any better! At the end of the night you'll be ready to pistol whip anything that moves!

Cons: 10 Chapters, game seemed short. Played with in two player in ~5 hours. But change the difficulty go for all the upgrades, makes for ALOT of replay-ability. Bring over other friends and go through the whole game together!

Other Thoughts: This game is a RAIL SHOOTER. You do not control where you walk and it plays like classic arcade games. It does not take away from the game play, it makes the game harder on purpose! You can't go back and get what you already missed. So play the level over, and get better on the trigger!

2 out of 5 eggsdead space extraction

Pros: Flame thrower, story, graphics ( really don't need super crisp edges for busting-up monsters). It is so dark in areas you don't even notice! wiimote for aiming IS better than thumbing around.

Cons: First, its rated mature, In my opinion this game should be for kids(teens). Not THAT scary. Second is the camera control. There is absolutly NO CAMERA CONTROL! exept for five seconds... and then thats it! Cannot go back and pick up that item you just saw. Also Too short in length.

Other Thoughts: If purchased, take it back and get credit for something your gunna like FOR SURE. No freedom in this game hurts it REALLY bad! It is like watching a movie with a ritcule!

1 out of 5 eggsfor the wii its good

Pros: The game is ok compared to other Wii games but doesn’t even come close to the graphics quality or fun it had in the previous version on the 360. I rented it and certainly won’t buy it.

Cons: Poor graphic quality compared to the other two consoles (but this is what you exspect from Wii). you have no control of movement (your on rails).

Other Thoughts: Im switching to easy just to get the story then returning it. They should have released it on xbox or ps3.
