The House of the Dead: OVERKILL charges you with mowing down waves of infected, blood-thirsty zombies in a last-ditch effort to survive Bayou City and uncover the horrific truth behind the origins of The House of the Dead.

Survival horror as it's never been seen before! A pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shoot ‘em up franchise. Back when the famous Agent G was still fresh out of the academy, he teamed up with hard-boiled bad-ass Agent Washington to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little did they know what blood-soaked mutant horror would await them in the streets and swamps of Bayou City.

Pulp Funk Horror
Zombie cool, one of the most popular shooter classics injected with a whole new retro b-movie look.

An utterly in-your-face zombie-dismembering blast
Non-stop light-gun style action on Wii, blow apart zombies for high-score thrills.

Superb co-op action on Wii
Bring a friend and play the game as intended in your own buddy action movie as two of the meanest mofos in video gaming.

Relentless, gore-drenched, over-the-top action
Only the coolest, most cold-hearted agent's going to keep his head against the zombie flood. Use "Slow-Mofo Time" to make the perfect head-popping shot and "Evil Eye" to spot moments of opportunity that'll send the whole environment up in flames.

Wiimote reactions
Get knee-deep in the dead with motion-sensitive Wii-controls. Shuck a shotgun and when the zombies get too close, pistol whip jaws off or cave some heads in with the stock of your pump-action – all in stomach-churning close-up.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's brutaly fun... I agree that it holds the record for the most F Bombs in a game, and pretty much more than anything else. Definitly not a kids game, I wouldn't even have kids in the same room when you are playing it. Me and my wife play at night after the kids are in bed, and its a fun Co Op game.

Cons: The cut scenes are irritating, mostly because it seems no one cared to make the dialouge match up with the mouths at all. Even worse than an old Godzilla flick.

Other Thoughts: Very fun Co Op game, must have some kind of zapper

5 out of 5 eggsLove this game!

Pros: Do not try to take this game seriously, it wasn't meant to be. It's kinda like Grind House vs Zombies. It currently has the record for the most F bombs dropped in a video game.

Cons: Wii Graphics

Other Thoughts: You'll laugh the entire way through.

4 out of 5 eggsIf you like drive-in horrors...

Pros: This is a very entertaining game. Not very long, but has 2 modes to play through. Alot of fun if you enjoy drive-in horror. :-D

Cons: No naked woman.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned above it needed naked woman. This is a must in drive in horror films

4 out of 5 eggsRaining F-Bombs

Pros: The graphics - they are not on par with 360 or PS3, but House of the Dead was never about cutting edge graphics in my opinion. It is about achieving a look. And this might be the first House of the Dead to nail the campy, over the top b-movie style so well on purpose.

The Sound - Decent sound effects. Hilarious, inappropriate, and downright indecent dialog. FANTASTIC voice overs. And a soundtrack as bizarre and disturbing as many of the visuals in the game.

The Gameplay - Its a rail shooter. It doesn't have the clearly diverging paths that past HOTD games had, but I haven't missed that so far (although I was expecting I would). Taking out the mutants feels very rewarding. The locations are emersive and the mutants in them fit well. Hunting for golden brains, causing slowdowns so you can take your time getting headshots, all very entertaining. There is a simple but fun weapon purchasing/upgrading system.

Cons: The framerate - In one player mode I don't have too many slowdown issues, but in two player mode I frequently feel a stutter. It seems like there is a short pause when its loading new zombies to throw at you. It is noticeable and it is annoying. The rest of the game makes me so happy that I still gave it 4 eggs, but that stutter really brings it down a lot.

It is dark - The game is very dark in places. I am using the s-video cable, not sure if that could be related, but its far darker than any other game I play on this television via S-Video and at times it is actually a problem.

Other Thoughts: The language and the content of the dialog in this game is fantastically bad. Don't mistake this to be a game for little kids. It may have the same rating as House of the Dead 2 + 3 for Wii, but it seems far more inappropriate than anything in those games.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Game, But Beware Ordering from Newegg

Pros: I've renting this game and enjoyed it. It is over the top hilarious. The experience alone is worth it. The gameplay and graphics are servicable which is all you need from a fun, cheaper title like this.

Cons: Newegg shipped the game to me in a plain white box. No coversheet. That is ridiculous coming from a major web retailer. You can't automatically return software, so I'm currently sitting in a chat room waiting for a customer service rep to join me. I should have ordered elsewhere.

4 out of 5 eggsHey! Careful with the Z-Word!

Pros: Incredibly fun, hilarious B-movie style dialog, great swanky music. The control is impressively fast and responsive.
HotD:O is fun from start to finish, add a second player, a big bowl of popcorn, and you're in for a fun evening of Zom...Sorry, I mean MUTANT...slaying!

Cons: The game is a little buggy, but I haven't experienced any game-stopping glitches. The graphics are pretty good for Wii graphics, but there's only so much they can do about that. The dialog is intentionally cheesy: over-the-top cheesy...also, the repeated F-bombs can get a little long in the tooth after awhile.

Other Thoughts: This isn't a game for kids, but the M-rating should make that obvious enough. For the price, you can't beat the entertainment value!

5 out of 5 eggsMindless Fun

Pros: Fun game - raunchy, perhaps overly so, but it's done with a firm grasp that this is satirical. Quite often there's satirical references to older House of the Dead games too, which can be quite amusing. Gameplay is straightforward but amusing, although not particularly hard - point and shoot, make things dead. Afterward, buy bigger gun, make more things dead. Repeat. I'm a fan of on-rails shooters so I enjoyed myself. Good graphics for a Wii title. I enjoyed the odd B-movie mockery in the cutscenes.

Cons: Well, it's an on-rails shooter. Many people hate those, if you're one, stay away. The profanity is almost surprising and is extreme - it's amusing if you can find amusement in it, but for some people it's going to be a huge con and it'll be over-the-top no matter who you are. Simplistic, too, but that's not always a bad thing.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I really liked the game, but I could see it being a huge disappointment if not horribly offensive to many people.

5 out of 5 eggszombieland

Pros: Shooting zombies is the best part. If that's not enough just grab a friend and start blasting away.

Cons: A lot of swears but who cares you're having fun.

Other Thoughts: Combine it with the perfect shot and it'll feel like you're at the arcade.
