Nintendo's 1-Up
- Pros: Nintendo takes Mario and platforming to a whole new level. Not only is it beautiful to look at, the game play is totally brand new. Gravity and physics are incredible (wait til you play a level where the gravity shifts). This game is the closest I have ever come to understanding why we have those health warnings. Talk about Vertigo, Up can be Down and Down can be Up. Makes for very creative puzzles. The music and sound have never been better. The music is orchestrated and recorded, not MIDI. I love it!
- Cons: If you have a problem with dizziness, this game might be hard to play. I wish it was at a higher resolution, but its still absolutely beautiful and exciting to watch/play. If you own a widescreen TV, make sure the Wii is set to 480P. I can't stress this enough for those who still have it set at the default resolution 480i.
- Other Thoughts: Super Mario Galaxy will bring back memories of all the other Mario games. I'm almost 30yrs old and I grew up with Mario since the introduction of Super Mario Bros. The games have brought a lot of joy in my life as a kid and this game still does. It might be the last Nintendo game I buy for myself for a long time. I'm planning on proposing to my girlfriend real soon, so there won't be much Nintendo left for me because of a busy new life. Even right now its hard for me to find time to play. But I'm making time, this game deserves it. ...And maybe one day, after I have kids, I can break out all the Nintendo systems and show them the mastery that is Nintendo...
the BEST Wii title so far
- Pros: The challenge is not so great that kids can't play it. My 5 year old has collected several stars. The whole family has a blast playing it. I'm up to 40+ stars and can't wait to collect more. Beautiful landscapes. Near perfect controls. Cool storyline.
- Cons: The controls can be off at times (specifically when upside down jumping to another upside down platform). Camera placement in a couple of places is less than optimal.
- Other Thoughts: If you only buy one Wii game this year (I've bought at least 8), buy SUPER MARIO GALAXY!!!

A New Classic
- Pros: -All the Mario 64 moves(ie backflip, wall jump) + more.
-Fun and Challenging for all ages/skill levels. -Creative level design and plenty of them.
- Cons: -Camera angles are frustrating at times.
-Gravity... You never know when you can walk off the edge and when you cant.
- Other Thoughts: Must have for Wii owners. It will bring back memories of past Mario games.
great game
- Pros: good spin off story line, fun, and interactive with the wiimote
- Cons: Can't play two players, it is called a co-op play, essentially you gather for player one
The kids love it
- Pros: It's been a big hit in the house
- Cons: Wish it was a full-fledged 2-player game

Become Mario as he traverses gravity-bending galaxies, traveling in and out of gravitational fields by blasting from planet to planet. Players experience dizzying perspective shifts as they run upside down through wild alien worlds that need to be seen to be believed. Whether you're surfing on a ray across an ocean in the clouds, rolling on a ball through a treacherous garden, or floating in a bubble over a poisonous swamp, there's no limit to the cosmic challenges you'll encounter!
Shake it! Controlling Mario is as simple as can be with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Move Mario with the Control Stick and shake the Wii Remote to perform a spin move or cue Ring Stars that launch you to and from planetary objects. You can even point at bits of stardust to collect them or latch onto Beam Stars to blaze a magnetic trail through the heavens.
Mario can run, tiptoe, jump, triple-jump, backflip, and long-jump, but what he'll do most is spin. By shaking the Wii Remote, players make Mario spin around with fists outstretched, allowing him to pummel enemies and cue Star Rings that launch him from planet to planet.
He can also find plenty of power-ups: A Bee Mushroom turns him into Bee Mario, allowing him to fly for short periods of time and cling to honeycombs. A Boo Mushroom turns him into Boo Mario, allowing him to float and turn invisible to pass through mesh gates.
He'll constantly collect bits of stardust—these can be fired at enemies using the B Button. A second player can even take on this role, using a second Wii Remote to stall enemies, fire stardust, or even sweep aside projectiles. |
