A great upgrade to Wii Sports
- Pros: High sensitivity. Many creative, fun games.
- Cons: No tennis. Pro status is a certificate (permanent). My fiance and I enjoy Wii Sports in which you have to maintain your pro status (you can lose it.)
- Other Thoughts: My fiance and I got a Wii last year (2009) and while we regularly play a variety of games, Wii Sports is our favorite. Or at least was, until we got Wii Sports Resort. Resort has a whole bunch of new games, that creatively use the remotes, and are completely different from the original Wii Sports. You still have golfing and bowling, but you get a whole new set of games including sword play, wake boarding, frisbee, archery, and more. If you don't have a nunchuck, get one. You can play over half the games without them, but archery, jetskiing, and bicycling do require them.
If you like Wii Sports, then I'm sure you'll find Sports Resort a great new upgrade.
Family Favorite
- Pros: Great game, takes full advantage of the Wii controls, quirky humor and atmosphere that is fun for the whole family even my three year old has no problem playing it. vast improvement from Wii sports in terms of replayablity as it has a lot of unlockable content and variety
- Cons: none, all the controls are easily learned
- Other Thoughts: Must have game this system good fun
Worthwhile
- Pros: Motion+, Ping Pong, Bowling, swordfighting
Smooth motion, notices rotation (great in ping pong and bowling)
- Cons: Some games are less fun than others for adults
Putting in Golf is tricky (avoiding over-powering)
- Other Thoughts: A well-worth-it followon to Wii Sports. Well integrated, all very polished. Swordfighting in very well done, as is Ping Pong (though you have to be careful to prepare early or it will think a forehand/backhand switch is actually a stroke). Golf is tough; you can't just swing at it blindly.

Wii Sports Resort is a new collection of fun sports games that anyone can pick up and play.
This sequel to the popular Wii Sports makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with Wii Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion.
Just as with Wii Sports, people will love competing against friends and family. As the competition heats up, Wii Sports Resort is as much fun to watch as it is to play. First-time players will find it easy to pick up a Wii Remote and jump into the action.
Wii Sports Resort takes place on a tropical island. A wide range of activities will keep players coming back for one more round. Some sample activities include Sword Play, Power Cruising (racing a water scooter) and Disc Dog, which involves accurately tossing a disc to a cute, Mii-like dog. |
