It's been 25 years, but the dark goddess Medusa is back and set on destroying the heroic angel Pit with her fearsome Underworld Army. Thanks to the gracious gift, Power of Flight, from Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, Pit has the ability to soar swiftly through the sky for about five minutes at a time. With flight on his side and unique skills up his sleeve, will Pit be able to fend of this malevolent threat?

Kid Icarus: Uprising brings the action and adventure of the original NES title, Kid Icarus to new heights and stunning new visual dimensions on the Nintendo 3DS. Begin each stage with an initial air battle, control Pit's movements like a dynamic guided shooter and continue the fight with ground-based skirmishes with third-person shooter controls. Collect weapons and treasures as you progress through this sprawling adventure. Team up with friends to battle it out until the other team's point totals are gone and each team member is defeated. The last team member defeated is revived as Pit and the other team must track him down and defeat him to win the match. Simple controls, AR-card compatibility, a fascinating storyline and more await you. Are you ready to take flight?

  • newegg Redesigned Game World and a New Look for Returning Characters Designed by Masahiro Sakurai – creator of Kirby and Super Smash Bros, Kid Icarus: Uprising features a vividly redesigned game world and a new look for Pit and other returning characters.
  • newegg Fly with the "Power of Flight" Pit is unable to fly on his own, but upon receiving the "Power of Flight" from Palutena, he can soar swiftly through the skies for about five minutes at a time. After each stage's initial air battle, Pit enters into ground-based skirmishes.
  • newegg Battle While Pit is battling in the air, the action unfolds like a dynamic guided shooter. Yet when he's facing enemies on land, it handles like a third-person shooter. Throughout the sprawling adventure, players gather numerous distinctive weapons and collect treasures.
  • newegg Multiplayer Battles Beyond the deep single-player adventure, Kid Icarus: Uprising also offers a thrilling and unique take on multiplayer battles. Two teams battle against each other, whittling away their point totals as each team member is defeated. When one team loses all its points, the last member defeated is revived as the powerful Angel Pit. If the other team can track him down and defeat him, they will win the match, introducing a new ebb-and-flow dynamic to multiplayer battles.
  • newegg AR Card Compatibility The game includes AR Card compatibility. Using the built-in 3D camera on the Nintendo 3DS system, the game recognizes countless specially designed AR Cards, with animated game characters popping up in 3D on the game screen and even battling each other when two cards face off.
  • newegg Intuitive Play The game's simple, intuitive play control has players hold the system in their left hand, while the right hand uses the stylus on the touch screen for targeting. Their left thumb on the Circle Pad controls Pit's movements, and the L Button fires ranged weapons and unleashes melee attacks. The controls are simple enough to be grasped quickly, but offer layers of depth and strategy for advanced maneuvers. A special control option for left-handed players is also being prepared.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast action. Difficulty settings can be changed from 1 to 10 level to level basis. Tons of collectibles. The ability to find rare weapons and fuse them to make more. Online battle is fast and fluid.
Addictive for collectors and people who love competitions

Cons: Controls are different but nothing a seasoned gamer won't be able to over come and understand.
Left hand players have the option of buying the expansion left analog slider pad (game does not come with it)

Other Thoughts: Game packs alot of content for the price. Pick it up if you have not already it is worth the price and the game comes with a stand so you can play your 3ds on for better control

4 out of 5 eggsFun game

Pros: It's a fun and fast game that doesn't try to do too much. Both the flying and ground combat are entertaining. The dialogue is entertaining.

Cons: I am left handed and it was extremely difficult to get used to holding the stylus with my right hand while holding the system with my left. I played with different control settings but the alternatives were worse. I can only really play the game with the 3ds resting on my lap.

Other Thoughts: Very fun game would recommend

5 out of 5 eggsA great 3DS title

Pros: I have been watching this game since it was announced at E3, so when it came out I knew I wanted to buy it. I wasn't disappointed. It is a great game, which blends Star Fox like combat with full range ground combat in the second half of a level, then finishing off each level with a boss. You also collect new weapons which you can upgrade, or fuse with other weapons to make new ones.

Cons: The controls take some getting used to. I feel like a second analog stick would have really come in handy here. Activating some of the abilities seems annoying, and I haven't used most of them because I don't feel I have the time to rotate through them while in combat.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great game. I would recommend to just about anyone who owns a 3DS
